We have a Band 8A vacancy for a Clinical Midwifery Manager for in-patient midwifery services. We have a Band 8A vacancy for a Clinical Midwifery Manager Community services. The post is 37.5 hours for a period of 6 months in the first instance. Secondment opportunity is available as is job share.

This is an exciting time for our Unit and maternity services within NHS Fife. We are looking for a visionary leader who can drive and sustain change ensuring that community and outpatient midwifery services are delivering the highest evidenced based flexible care for women and families.

You will work closely with the Quality Improvement Midwife, In-patient midwifery manager and the Children’s clinical nurse manager to support a seamless integrated service for women experiencing physiological birth at either the MLU or at home, whilst supporting an MDT approach for women with more complex care needs who will birth at the CLU.

Ideally, you will have multi-agency/partnership working experience and the ability to work strategically to develop an integrated service that supports Best Start recommendations.

Due to the retirement of the current post holder in the Victoria Maternity Unit, Kirkcaldy, Fife, we are now advertising the role of Clinical Risk midwife. Although working within the multidisciplinary team you will work autonomously to ensure clinical risk and clinical governance remain high profile within the organisation. You will be responsible for the Clinical Risk Management Strategy within the directorate and will also have a continued clinical commitment. It is essential you are a Registered Midwife with valid NMC Registration and post graduate expertise within speciality/area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safely, effectively & efficiently.

You should possess excellent team working skills with effective communication and time management skills also. The unit was opened in January 2012, and as well as the outpatient and community settings has a high risk Consultant Unit and a low risk Midwife Led Unit, with approx 3500 births per year.

This will include testing the bi-monthly updates from Clevermed and updating staff accordingly. The main location will be based within Victoria Maternity Hospital with a requirement to travel across Fife on occasions. You will have the ability to work across traditional boundaries and engage with staff at all levels to implement change to routine working practice. You will demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative, managing your workload effectively.

Our Advanced Nurse Practitioners work effectively as senior members of the Hospital at Night team ensuring the delivery of high quality clinically effective care, utilising advanced clinical skills and knowledge.

We are seeking an individual to join the established Hospital at Night Service. You should be a registered nurse, with an understanding and demonstrable knowledge of the demands of working within an acute environment with evidence of post registration study or equivalent experience in advanced clinical decision making. As a minimum you will have certified clinical examination, assessment and diagnostic skills at level 11.

In line with the national arrangements for pay and banding of trainees, this post is open to suitable individuals who can demonstrate an ability to develop into the role of Advanced Nurse Practitioner following the successful completion of a structured academic and in-house training program.

Individuals who meet the full requirements for the role of Advanced Nurse Practitioner will commence on Band 7. Those applicants who are interested in developing into the role following the successful completion of both academic qualifications and an in-house Advanced Nurse Practice Toolkit will commence on Band 6 in line with Annex 21 (pay and banding of trainees). On successful completion of this program you will be transferred to Band 7.

The primary function of this role will be to work with the Physiotherapy & Occupational Therapy Services within Intermediate Care to deliver therapeutic treatment programmes to service users in the ward setting or their own homes, preventing hospital admission and supporting early discharge from hospital. Physiotherapists & Occupational Therapists will provide specialist assessments to this patient group and allocate work to this post holder. This post will sit with the Physiotherapy team primarily and they will provide supervision and development.

You will have an SVQ Level III in Health and Social Care or equivalent. Experience working as a Physiotherapy and/or Occupational Therapy support worker would be desirable. It would be desirable to have experience working with older people as they are the main group of service users referred. Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team you will be expected to carry out ongoing treatment programmes for a mixed caseload of mainly older people.

We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to work in Fife CAMHS generic child and adolescent psychiatry. This post will be in the West team based in Dunfermline. Currently there is no on-call required of the post holder however in the future on call may become part of the duties of the consultant group. Contributing to emergancy response during normal working hours is expected.

The department (Fife CAMHS) includes a core group of experienced and well qualified clinicians from a number of disciplines, including, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Nursing and Child Psychotherapy and dietetics. The post holder will join an established team of Consultant Psychiatrists. The service has one core trainee from the Edinburgh training scheme and currently also a Higher trainee.

We have been at the forefront in Scotland in developing an Intensive Therapy Service including Eating Disorders to offer community based support for children and young people with severe mental health problems. Other multi-disciplinary teams provide services for young people and children who self harm, for looked after children and for children and young people who have been sexually abused. As consultant psychiatrist you will be required to provide an input to all teams with a special emphasis on the Intensive Therapy. Generic work will include ADHD with co morbid presentations, anxiety, depression and psychosis. The Tier 3 ADHD pathway currently sits within the community paediatric service. It has been established for 10 years and includes nurses (with prescribing role), and psychologists. It offers assessment and treatment for young people with ADHD, including parent education groups and transition clinics for adolescents. The medical input into the pathway is provided by consultant child and adolescent psychiatrists.

The establishment in 2005 of the Playfield Institute as a resource for skills development, research and the provision of information, has opened up new opportunities for the successful post holder to receive support for research and engage in a range of training events.

The CAMH Service also provides essential input into specialist assessment clinics for children and young people thought to be on the Autistic Spectrum.

Candidates must possess their MRCPsych or equivalent qualification and have obtained, or be within 6 months of Specialist Registration at date of interview

These posts offer ample scope for teaching links within the Universities of Edinburgh, St Andrews and Dundee. Within Fife, there is a consultant body of approximately 30 consultants meeting regularly at the Division of Psychiatry, with specialists in General Adult Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry, Learning Disabilities, CAMHS, Substance Misuse and Eating disorders as well as Old Age Psychiatry. The On Call commitment for out of hours is shared between all consultants, with the exception of CAMHS consultants and is currently 1 in 18.

There is support from junior medical staff from the South East Scotland rotational training scheme or General Practitioner Specialist Training scheme and will be expected to take part in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. All junior medical posts in Fife are fully accredited by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

Old Age Psychiatry in Fife is currently undergoing an exciting period of service development and all of the posts available offer the opportunity to be involved with determining the shape of mental health care for Older Adults in the region for the future.

Post A is a full time Old Age Psychiatry sector posts, based in West Fife available due to retirement. Inpatient beds are at Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline. Outpatient work is based in the Dunfermline area and is supported by multidisciplinary services including CPN, Intensive Home Treatment and Day Hospital teams. There is also active Post Diagnostic Support for Dementia as well as Psychology and Occupational Therapy.

Post B is a full time Old Age Psychiatry sector post, based in North East Fife with inpatient beds in Stratheden Hospital, Cupar. Outpatient work is based across North East Fife and again is supported by multidisciplinary teams including the Intensive Home Treatment Team, CPNs, Dementia Post Diagnostic Support, Psychology and Occupational Therapy.

Post C is a full time Old Age Psychiatry post working in the newly developed Care Home Liaison Service and covering West Fife. This new post has arisen from service development and offers exciting opportunities to help shape the care of older people in the care home setting, with inpatient beds at Queen Margaret Hospital,
