Positive reviews continue to stream in from industry students who, in recent months, have participated in the new Plastics Professional Training Seminar Series held at Beaumont’s headquar-ters in Erie, Pa.

Topics such as optimizing the mold process, hot and cold runner design strategies, and injection molding diagnostics, have attracted numer-ous professionals from across the country. In addition to the curriculum, Beaumont’s newly remodeled foot training room is equipped with state-of-the-art smart projection technology and six desktop computers installed with 5Step and CAE mold simulation analysis software.

Matthew Timm, process engineer at MPC, Twin Lakes, Wis., recently attended one of Beaumont’s two-day seminars, and says that it’s likely he will be back again.

“The class was much more than I ex-pected. Going in, I thought it would be more of a sales pitch for MeltFlipper technology. I was wrong,” Timm said. “I now have a better understanding of polymer flow and how to use the sys-tematic mold balance approach to help improve MPC molds and reduce our scrap cost. Great class, hope to attend other seminars at Beaumont.”

Another reason that Beaumont’s Plastics Professional Training Seminar Series has garnered so much positive review is that Beaumont’s training pro-gram exceeds other training courses offered in the plastics industry. Stu-dents who have attended a Beaumont seminar return to their companies with a new appreciation of design, rheology and troubleshooting, which results in a more successful and profitable pro-duction operation.

With Beaumont’s Plastics Professional

Training Seminar Series, you will ex-perience the following:

— Beaumont’s training emphasiz-es the in-depth relationships between plastic flow, mold and part design, processing, and part quality, while teaching students how to implement scientific design and diagnostic strate-gies. — Rather than preach a me-chanical approach of “if X, then do Y,” Beaumont educates students by ex-plaining the details and interactions of X and Y, while providing students with the thought processes to think through complex questions and problems. We teach the importance of considering all variables of a problem so that the problem solver can engineer solutions based on science, not habits. — We encourage students to question why they do what they do, and how to analyze each scenario to see if it should be done differently.

With the success of the new Plastics Professional Training Seminars, Beaumont Technologies has decided to expand its seminar offerings by holding an ongoing series of free technical seminars throughout 2011-2012 given by John Beaumont, president of Beaumont.

These free, half-day seminars are designed to offer an abridged compilation of the Plastics Professional Training Series. Currently, Beaumont has a seminar scheduled for late February, early March at Oakley in California. A final date will be announced at a later date.

Beaumont’s first technical seminar was held Sept. 15, 2011, at INCOE in Troy, Mich., to a sold-out venue. Seminars are also planned to be held in Chicago, the Twin Cities, Los An-geles and various other locations throughout the U.S. with

dates and times to be announced at a later date.

“Having John available to provide his technical exper-tise around the country is certainly creating a buzz in the industry about our training capabilities already,” said David Hoffman, senior instructor and training development man-ager. “We look forward to the discussions these seminars will bring and hope to continue the education and advance-ment of the industry through knowledge transfer during our educational training seminars.”

Spaces are limited and allocated on a “first come” basis. To be placed on a mailing list to receive information about upcoming free seminars, please contact Beaumont at 814/899-6390, ext.139, or e-mail us at [email protected].
