The First FACT We NEED To Understand:
I. GOD IS PERFECTGod Was perfect.
God Will be perfect. If God at anytime failed in being perfect, then He was
never perfect to begin with! Perfect cannot fail.
The Second FACT We NEED To Understand Is:
II. GOD IS POWERFUL God Can do Anything
Except:
A. GOD CANNOT LIE:
B. GOD CANNOT CHANGE:
Titus 1:2In hope of eternal life, which God,that cannot lie, promised before
the world began;
Malachi 3:6For I Am the LORD, I change not; ....
C. GOD CANNOT LET ANYBODY
INTO HEAVEN UNLESS THEY ARE BORN
AGAIN!
John 3:3...Except a man be born again,he cannot see the kingdom of
God.
The Third FACT We NEED To Understand Is:
III. GOD WANTS MAN TO KNOW HIM
God wants us to remember what He
didin the past. God wants what is
necessaryin order for our lives to be a
blessing to Him,to others, and joyful for ourselves.
The Fourth FACT We NEED To Understand Is:
IV. GOD IS THE AUTHOR OF THE BIBLE
Moses was the first TRANSCRIBER God used to give us the Bible. He
used Moses (like you use a pen) to write the first 5 books of the Bible.
God had Moses write exactly what God told Him to write.
The Apostle John was the Last transcriber God used in the Bible. God used all the writers (around 40 of them) like you use a pen.
God had them writeEXACTLY WHAT HE TOLD THEM
TO WRITE.
The Fourth FACT We NEED To Understand Is:
The Fifth FACT We NEED To Understand Is:
V. THERE WERE THREE LANGUAGES
IN THE ORIGINAL SCRIPTURES:
C. Greek:
B. Aramaic:
A. Hebre
w:
The Sixth FACT We NEEDTo Understand Is:
VI. GOD WANTS US TO HAVE AND TO USE THOSE SAME
WORDS TODAYExactly the same Words
He gave from the time of Mosesto the time of John.
Galatians 1:7...there be some that
trouble you, and would pervert
the gospel of Christ.
2 Corinthians 2:17For we are not as
many,which corrupt
the word of God: ....
God WARNED and INSTRUCTED:
Psalm 12:6The words of the LORD are pure
words:Proverbs 30:5Every word of God is pure:
Exodus 20:1And God spake all these words, ...
It was NOT just the thoughts or ideas,
it was the EXACT WORDS
God WARNED and INSTRUCTED:
Deuteronomy 4:10 …the LORD said unto me, Gather Me the people together, and I will make them hear My words, that they may learn to fear Me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and that they may teach
their children.
God WARNED and INSTRUCTED:
Deuteronomy 11:18Therefore shall ye lay up these My
words in your heart and in your soul,
18:18 I will raise them up a Prophetfrom among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put My words in his
mouth;and he shall speak unto them all
that I shall command him.
God WARNED and INSTRUCTED:
God WARNED and INSTRUCTED:Isaiah 59:21
… My words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of
thymouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy
seed’s seed,saith the LORD,from henceforth
and for ever.
Matthew 4:4...Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of
God.
God WARNED and INSTRUCTED:
If God expects us to pass His Words down through the ages,
and enoughof His Words for everybody to
have(ample bread provision)He must first Provide it,
then Protect it, then Preserve it.
God WARNED and INSTRUCTED:
Proverbs1:23 I will make known My word unto you. 2:1 …receive My word,
4:4 …retain My word:4:20 …attend to My word;
7:1 …keep My word,
John 6:63…the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
God WARNED and INSTRUCTED:
John 17:8For I have given unto them
the words which Thou gavest Me;...
God WARNED and INSTRUCTED:
Psalm 19:7The law of the LORD is perfect,
converting the soul:the testimony of the LORD is sure,
making wise the simple.
Deuteronomy 4:2Ye shall not add unto the word
whichI command you, neither shall ye
diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the
LORD your God which I command you.
God WARNED and INSTRUCTED:
Proverbs 30:5-65 Every word of God is pure:
He is a shield unto them that puttheir trust in Him. 6 Add thou
not unto His words, lest He reprove thee, and thou be found
a liar.
God WARNED and INSTRUCTED:
Revelation 22:19And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take
away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written
in this book.
God WARNED and INSTRUCTED:
In Review:God gave His Word,
God Protects His Word,God Preserves His Word.
We need His Word.He promised to give His Word that it
wouldbe in supply like bread.
The next logical question is-WHERE & HOW DID GOD PRESERVE
HIS WORD?Did He leave it for man alone to take
care of and preserve or is He orchestrating in that task?
OBVIOUS ANSWER: He is Helping!
I. FIRST, GOD INSTITUTED SCRIBES
A scribes sacred duty was to copy the Scriptures. They took meticulous effort
in it.If they made one mistake, they would
destroythe whole manuscript. When they
cameto God’s name, they would throw awaythe “pen”, take a bath, come back and write the name, throw the “pen” away,
take a bath, and start again. Very meticulous. God
hadthe prophets & scribes write it
perfectly,He had the scribes ultimately copy it
perfectly.
When the older copies showed signs of wear, due to its heavy usage, The scribes would destroy the original to
prevent copyist errors. There would be many copies made
from one,so the Words of God grew and spread
justas God commanded them to do,
and promised it would.Today the original’s do not exist – God did not say He would preserve
the scrolls, He did sayHe would preserve the Words. God did not want us to worship a relic! There
are Millions of perfectly matching copies all over the world.
II. SECONDLY, GOD CAN GIVE A TRANSLATION AND OVERSEE
THATIT IS ALSO CORRECT WITHOUT
ERROR!Acts 2:8-11
8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? ... 11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
Then Why Are There So Many “Bibles” That
Read So Differently?
Some are becauseof false
prophets.
SOME WERE CHANGED BECAUSE THEY DIDN’T LIKE WHAT THE
BIBLE TAUGHT:
1 Timothy 3:2 A bishop [Pastor]
then must be blameless,
the husband of one wife,...;
MANY BECAUSE THEY USED THE WRONG “ORIGINAL” TEXT IN
THEIR TRANSLATIONMany are not translated
wrong,The problem is
the they are translated
from a text that is clearly
messed up!
Only ONE can be RIGHT if others say different things! One
perfect, the others messed up. There are only really two sidews to choose from: The One Right
Text And the Other Wrong Texts, the text that we will see clearly proven right one is the
one the King James Bible is translated from:
If there is a God, there HAS to be a perfect text

IS RIGHT?

The Translation Truth
The only English translated Bible today
from the large Majority of original language
Bibles is the King James Version.Almost All the other modern Bibles
are fromthe fewer “older” manuscripts that
don’t even match each other in what they say! There are
a few that are paraphrases of the KJV,but they are not a translation, and
error filled.
The Translation TrapIn the publication THE BAPTIST
BULLETIN, Aug/Sept issue, there is an article that was first
published in the same paper in 1981. The article entitled THE
HOLE AND THE HEWING: OUR HERITAGE, was written by then
Pastor Paul Tassell.This article states:
The Translation Trap
“The issue of the day is not which versionof the Bible is best. The issue in
Christendom todayis the inerrancy of the Bible as originally
written. The battle is not over translations, not over the virtues of versions; the battle, ... , is for
the Bible itself. The integrity of the Bible demands its
inerrancy. The infallibility of the Bible demands its
inerrancy. The verbal, plenary inspiration of the Bible demands its inerrancy. Failure to hold to
the inerrancy ofthe Bible has ruined once great
denominations.”

The Translation Trap
Truth
Baited Trap
The Translation TrapThere is one MAJOR error in this
statement and it is illustrated in the following experience from a Pastor’s New Convert’s Sunday School class : The church’s Pastor starts to discuss
the inerrancy of the Bible, then one of the new converts raises his hand and
asks, “That just applies to the original doesn’t it?” The Pastor’s response was a hearty, “YES.” Then he continued on to the next point in his lesson. Could
this be true? Is only the original perfect?
The Translation Trap
This is a valid question consideringthe proliferation of the various
versionsnow on the market.
May we consider some very validquestions concerning these remarks
in getting to the truth:
1. WHERE ARE THE “ORIGINALS?”Those penned by Moses of Genesis, to
Revelation penned by John? They are gone. Nobody disputes
this fact at all. All we have left is copies.2. IF ONLY THE ORIGINALS ARE
ERROR FREE, why do we bother on translations at all when
we can learn the original languages for the Word of God that has less errors than the
translations?3.IF NO “TRANSLATION” OR “COPIES”
ARE ERROR FREE,how can we base church doctrines on them,
and how can we know which verses have errors and which do not?
Many people do not know the facts of the issue and thus are truly ignorant about the importance of this issue regarding Bible
versions. Ignorance is not the mainproblem in Christianity today (everybody is ignorant in life
to some degree), the problem is the one that
knows the truth and has chosen to reject it. Most
people assume that the “scholars” who
presented the new works are reliable and thatthey have done it in sincerity and honesty.
However, God’s Word instructs us to:1 Thessalonians 5:21
Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
We are also instructed in Romans 12:2:And be ye not conformed to this world: but beye transformed by the renewing of your mind,
that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
In other words--VERSIONS DO MATTER! New converts are told to rely upon God’s Word, but then they are told that each English version & original language copies contain errors! Why
are they not told by these same people to learn the “original” Greek, Hebrew & Aramaic language if only it is closest to the originals?
What will the new converts think when they do start comparing versions and then find so many profound differences (the following
questions and their verse answers aptly illustrate this dilemma)?:
Translation Evidence
Was JESUS’ FATHER JOSEPH or GOD& Was Mary a VIRGIN?
Luke 2:33KJV: And Joseph and His mother marvelled...
NIV: The Child’s father and mother marvelled...
RSV: And His father and mother marvelled...What is GOD’S STANDARD on
SEPARATION?1 Thessalonians 5:22
KJV: Abstain from all appearance of evil.NKJV & RSV: Abstain from every form of evil.
NIV: Avoid every kind of evil.
Translation Evidence
How Are We To HANDLE GOD’S WORD? 2 Corinthians 2:17
KJV: For we are not as many, which corrupt the Word of God:
NKJV: For we are not, as so many,peddling the Word of God;
NIV: Unlike so many, we do not peddle the Word of God;
RSV: For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God’s Word;
(Here’s another good question to go with these verses, Which ones have the copyrights on
them for peddling sake? – All but the King James Bible)
Translation EvidenceWhat Does The Bible Teach About The
TRINITY1 John 5:7
KJV: ...that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are
one.ASV: And the Spirit is the witness, because the
Spirit is the truth.NIV: For there are three that testify:
1 John 3:16KJV: Hereby perceive we the love of God, because
He laid down His life for us:NIV: This is how we know what love is:Jesus Christ laid down His life for us...
RSV: By this we know love, that He laid down His life for us;...
NKJV: By this we know love, because He laiddown His life for us. ...
Translation EvidenceHow Do We TREAT Those With FALSE DOCTRINE?
2 John 10-11KJV: If there come any unto you, and bring not this
doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For He that biddeth him God
speedis partaker in his evil deeds.
NKJV: If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine,
do not receive him into your house nor greet him;for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds.
NIV: If anyone come to you and does not bring this teaching,
do not take him into your house nor welcome him; for he who welcomes him shares his wicked work.
RSV: If any one come to you and does not bring this teaching,
do not receive him into the house or give him any greeting;
for he who greets him shares his wicked work.
Translation Evidence
How DO WE EXPLAIN MISSING VERSES?
In the ASV & NIV in particular are many verses
that have been left out! Example: Acts 8:37!
You can now clearly see the confusion a new convert (or an old one) will be under when comparing what different “Bibles” say for the same verse. For hundreds of
years believers have memorized and based doctrine on these verses that he
“scholars” say no longer belong!
Translation EvidenceBACK TO THE QUESTION
God did not say He would ONLY preserve His Word
error free in the “original” languages. If this were so Jesus and the other disciples
wouldhave been in error when they spoke to the
people God’s Word in the languages of their lands in Acts 2 during
the day of Pentecost. They would have only been able
to give an imperfect translation at best, not God’s perfect Word. Our LORD PROVED He
would preserveit error free in other languages when He
allowedthe people in Acts 2 to hear His Word in their own languages. Did the Holy Spirit lead and
guide themin the speaking of those languages? YES!
Translation EvidenceTEXTUS RECEPTUS
(Received Text, Majority Test):The Greek manuscript usedin the translation of the KJV
New Testament. The Old Testament original language manuscripts (called the Mazaretic) are not criticized like those of the New Testament (Since
most agree on the same ones, and yet there are many changes in the other
versions in the Old Testament).
Translation Evidence
The Textus Receptus was the prevalent text available before and during the KJV era; today 995 out of
every 1,000 existing old Greek manuscripts match the Textus Receptus. As a result of their
copies down through the years there are also millions of copies
matching this old text. This is the text that was the cause of many
Christian martyr deaths during the dark ages.
Translation EvidenceBible believers were put to death for
theirfaith in the Bible and this was the text
usedby those BIBLE BELIEVERS and others
untilthe translations from the “newly
discovered older texts” showed up in 1880’s. Was God sleeping during the preceding 1,800 years letting His word be totally hid for all that time? No, God was not! He had promised His Word, and He had promised to protect and
preserveHis word - with enough quantity that it
wouldbe compared to bread in number.
Translation EvidenceTHE OTHER 5% OF GREEK LANGUAGE
MANUSCRIPTS: (Westcott & Hort Text, Nestles Text, Scrivener
Text & others)The two oldest and most used are from a very obvious bad source: One of these
Greek manuscripts is called the VATICANUS. It is kept in the Vatican in
Rome. No one outside of the high priesthood of this church had any
continual access to this manuscript. The other Greek manuscript is called the
SINAITICUS. This one was “discovered” in a monastery dump heap, “rescued” just
before the Monks threw it into an incinerator.
Translation Evidence
The Catholic Church controls these manuscripts. This means that all the translations from these are essentially
Roman Catholic Bibles. The Roman Catholic Church has a doctrine that
says that theBible is for the priests, the common
man cannot understand it, and should not
have access to it.
Translation Evidence
This same church had a council called the COUNCIL OF TRENT (1545-1563).
In this council they took Bible Believing doctrines and CONDEMNED
THE FOLLOWING ONES AS BEING HERETICAL (In other words they did
not believe the following, and said those that
do are Godless heretics), after we read them,
ask yourself, is this the church and manuscripts that I want as the basis
of my Bible?:
Translation Evidence
a. Those that believe That the Holy Scriptures contained all
things necessaryfor salvation, and that it was
impiousto place apostolic tradition at
levelwith Scripture, were heretics.
(In other words, they said what thechurch leaders teach is more
importantthan what the Bible teaches!);
They also decided :
Translation Evidence
b. Those that believe That certain
books accepted as God’s Word in the
Catholic Latin version were apocryphal
and not bible; are heretics(They say the books written between
theNew and Old Testaments are Bible
Books).
Translation Evidence
c. Those that believe that Scripture
could be studied in the original languages, and that the Catholic
Latin versionhad errors; are heretics.
They also decided that those that believed:
Translation Evidence
d. Those that believe that the meaning
of Scripture is plain, and that it can be understood without
commentary withthe help of Christ’s Spirit; are
heretics.(They believe that only the priestscan interpret scripture and only
they should have it).
Translation Evidence
Do you want these people teaching
in your Baptist Church? That is exactly what is happening when we use their “Bibles.” Let us look at the men who were behind the
new versions:
Translation Evidence
These two men were the leaders in manipulating this change in manuscripts.
Brooke Foss Westcott (1852-1901), and Fenton Anthony Hort (1825-1892).
Both were professors in CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY, England. This university still is a major printer of Bibles today.
While reading the following letter excerpts written by these men, ask
yourself,Would I ALLOW these men to TEACH my CHILDREN, in my CHURCH, or in my HOME?
Dr. Hort writing toRev. Roland Williams,Oct. 21, 1858,
“Evangelicals seem to me perverted rather than untrue. There are, I fear, still more serious differences between us on the subject of authority, and especially
the authority of the Bible.”(The evangelicals at that time were the Bible Believers that stood only on the Bible as their
authority.)
Dr. Hort writing to Dr. Westcott,Oct. 17, 1865,
“I have been persuaded for many years that
Mary-worship and Jesus worship have very
much in common in their cause and results.”
Dr. Hort writing to Rev. John Ellerton,April 3, 1860,
“But the book which has most engaged me is Darwin. Whatever may be
thought of it, it is a book that one is proud to be contemporary with... My feeling is strong that the theory is
unanswerable. If so, it opens up a new period.”
Dr. Hort writing to Dr. Westcott,Oct. 15, 1860,
“Certainly nothing could be more unscriptural that the modern limiting of
Christ’s bearing our sins and sufferings to his death; but indeed that is
only one aspect of an almost universal heresy.”
(Don’t limit it to Christ, it is not Him alone, is his meaning)
Dr. Wescott writing to Archbishop Benson,
Nov. 17, 1865,“I wish I could see to what forgotten truth
Mariolatry bears witness.”
Dr. Hort writing to Dr. Westcott, undated,
“I am very far from pretendingto understand completely the
oft-renewed vitality of Mariolatry.”
Dr. Hort writing to Dr. Westcott, undated,
“But this last error can hardly be expelledtill Protestants unlearn the crazy horror
of theidea of priesthood [of the believer].”(By the way, Baptist is not protestant.
They can be traced back to the Apostles as the first church.
Most churches are break-offs of the Roman Catholic Church during the reformation, thus
protest-ant.)
Dr. Hort writing to Dr. Lightfoot,Oct. 26, 1867,
“But you know I am a staunch sacerdotalist.”
Sacerdotalist: A believer in the divine authority
of the Roman Catholic priesthood.
Dr. Westcott writing to the Archbishop of Canterbury,March 4, 1890,
“No one now, I suppose, holds that the first three chapters of Genesis, for
example, give a literal history--I could never understand how any one reading them with open eyes could think they
did.”
Dr. Hort writing to Mr. John Ellerton, undated,
“I am inclined to think that no such state as
“Eden” (I mean the popular notion) ever existed, and that Adam’s fall in no
degree differedfrom the fall of each of his descendants.”
Dr. Westcott came to the conclusionthat all women should be called “Mary,”
and this led him to rename his wife Mary.

The whole premise of the New versions in their own words “is to make the Bible easier to be understood in
the language of the common folk.” A simple research into the lives of the people involved and the “bibles” they created show this is not the case. The following comparisons of other
versions along with the KJV will show you the obvious ways that doctrine
has been changed and understanding made more difficult, not easier!:
