SERMON NOTES – AUGUST 11TH
1. Isaiah tells us that we must our worship to our lives, that justice is a good measure.
2. And who’s to say if one chat with God is above or below average?
3. The prophet , that’s who! 4. Connecting worship and justice in life is a unique aspect
of the faith of Israel that continues in Israel’s child. 5. Isaiah tells the people that proper offerings and rituals in
the Temple mean if not accompanied by proper treatment of people outside the Temple.
6. We are called to be the Church – not to go to church. 7. Do no harm. Do good. Stay in love with God. 8. THE BOTTOM LINE: If you want God to listen to your
prayer, connect your worship with justice in life. 9. Doing no harm is the and the most
requirement. 10. To whom will you do good this week? Who will you
actively serve and make sure they are safe and secure and fed and cool? Who will you help do what they cannot do for themselves, but still needs doing?
11. Also, find new ways to stay in love with God. 12. God doesn’t only say that we are to in the
idea of justice for the poor, but rather we are to justice, make their cause our own.
