FUN FACTS• Over 3 million people performed the haj In 2012• You are not allowed to cover your face during the hajj. The cloth cant touch

your face• The hajj is the oldest and mot sacred ritual of Islam• Once a person completes the hajj, they can add the phrase al-hajj or hajji

(pilgrim) to their name• Muslims who are physically and financially able to go to the hajj must go at

least once in his/her life• While in the state of ihram, pilgrims must not cut their nails or hair, argue,

fight or hunt• The hajj ceremony lasts for 6 days
