Rescuedfromslavery,callsTheFather’sHousehome.  Taking a Step In1999,twomentookastep.Theywerejustdads,withfamiliesandjobs. TheyflewtoGhana,Africa,notreallyknowingexactlywhyGodwascallingthemtothiscountryacrossthe Atlantic.Whilethere,theyministeredalongsidePastorDavid,alocalpastortheymetthroughaconference hereintheUnitedStates.Theystoodinthedirtandofferedlittlechildrenfood,andTHENtheytoldthem thatGods awthem,andt hatGodhadn otforgotten .Theytol dthemtheywere loved-byJ esus. Theirjourneycontinuedwhentheyjoinedbytheirfamilies.Togethertheytookanotherstep,ultimately providingafewofthesechildrenahome…theirfirsthome.Thesefaithfulfamiliesnamedthishome: TheFather’sHouse.  A life of slavery.  They live as slaves, made to fish up to 15 hours a day. Slave masters own these little lives and they spend their days… Bailing water from leaky fishing boats. Diving under dark water to untangle fishing nets. Fishing all day…every day. Ourfriendstookonestepoffaith,andGodshowedthemalittlebitmore. “Thereissomethingtakinglifethatisevenmoreevilthanhunger,”Godsaid,“Mychildrenarebeingtakenasslaves.Go  freethem.I willshowyou theway.” AllalongtheedgesofLakeVolta,justNorthofGhana,Africa,thereare smallvillages,fulloflittlechildren,whoarenowlivingalifeofslavery. Theyaretak enfromtheir motherswit hthepromis eofabetter life,or thepromiseofajob.Insteadtheyarejustalone…starvingandworking. ThesetwofamiliesjoinedGeorge,alocalteacherandpastorinGhana. GodhasgivenGeorgetheuniqueabilitytospeakintothedealingsof theseslavemasters. In2010,afterhalfadayoftravelinginthescorchingheat,andblinding dust,thesefamiliesandGeorgearrivedinasecludedvillage,oneof manyalong theedgeofL akeVolta. Sittingunderalargeoaktree,the “meetingplace”,aslavemasterthumbedthroughhisspiralbound notebookwithlistsandlistsofnamesofyoungboys,youngslaves.
