EnviTec Biogas has entered the relatively young Japa-nese biogas market with a 250 kWel biogas plant. The EnviWaste plant in Kishiwada (a city of Osaka) has been feeding electricity into the network since 27 March 2015. This means that the feed-in operation was in punctual compliance with the date that was targeted for the initial feed-in operation. The plant was designed and enginee-red in cooperation with the Japanese partner RENAGEN. RENAGEN is part of the REMATEC Group, which is a large waste material recycling company in Japan and south-east Asia. The target of the cooperation is the expansion of the biogas market in Japan.
The plant consists of a digester which has a size of 853 cubic metres. It converts about 17 tonnes of food waste that comes from a nearby unpacking and processing plant into biogas every day which is burned in a combined heat and power plant (CHP). The electricity is fed into the public network.
Location: Kishiwada, Osaka (Japan)Capacity: 250 kWel
In operation since: March 2015Input materials: Food wasteFeatures: The EnviWaste plant that features a compact
container structure is operated exclusively on the basis of food waste. It feeds electricity into the public grid.

The Kishiwada bio-gas plant is one of about 600 biogas plants in Japan.
On account of the small building area, the trans-portation and installation of the components had to be coordinated with a high degree of precision.
