Text Resources: Option #2

This book would be used in a classroom as part of a series of e-books for students during the “Biodiversity and Human Influence” unit. While the suggested reading strategies and key terms are inside the book, the book directly follows the goals of the lesson. Specifically, it takes a relevant current event (2010 Gulf Oil Spill) and brakes it down into digestible and specific chunks for students. More importantly, the book primarily focuses what happened, the environmental implications, and what is being done in response. All of these topics would be great points of discussion within any class and directly align with the New York State Living Environment learning standards.
