The Engadine Public School WARATAH Dear Parents Here we are very quickly approaching half way through this term and we still have plenty of events and activities to come. We have already had a successful Art Show, COSOTP Mural Launch and a beginning to our Kinder Transition days this term. These events have received wide acclaim from the community and the news of our successful efforts has reached as far as Sydney Regional Office. The success of these events can be attributed to the talents of our hard working staff, the wonderful support from our P&C and community, and of course, the enthusiasm of our students. We look forward to an extremely busy five weeks with end of year reports, moving into our new buildings, finishing off learning programmes, organising for 2011, as well as preparing for special events such as, Grandparents’ Day, Book Fair, Stage 3 High School Linkages, Presentation Day and Year 6 Farewell to name a few. BER The landscaping around our buildings was completed over the weekend. Unfortunately, yesterday’s storms have washed some of it away. We hope that this does not impact on the inspection scheduled for this coming Friday. All being well, we could see a successful handover of the new buildings take place early next week. Here’s hoping! Stage 3 Excursions for 2011 Just a note to parents of Stage 3 students in 2011 to inform you that there are two major activities organised for Stage 3 next year. We have already had a successful Art Show, COSOTP Mural

Launch and a beginning to our Kinder Transition days this term.

These events have received wide acclaim from the community

enthusiasm of our students.

We look forward to an extremely busy five weeks with end of

year reports, moving into our new buildings, finishing off

learning programmes, organising for 2011, as well as preparing

for special events such as, Grandparents’ Day, Book Fair, Stage

3 High School Linkages, Presentation Day and Year 6 Farewell

to name a few.

Class of 2011 T-Shirts As we are approaching the end of the school year, it is time to start organising the Year 6 T-shirts for 2011. The shirts will be the same as the short sleeve sky blue polo with the school emblem on the front and a full list of Year 6 names and teachers on the back.

Sizes as the same as current shirts available in the uniform shop. Sizes: Children’s 10, 12, 14, 16Y Men’s 14S, 16M, 18L, 20XL

These shirts will be a special order, so there will be NO refunds or returns once finalised. This is also a one-off order, no extras can be purchased at a later date.

Please complete the order form going home this week and attach it to your payment.

No further orders will be received after

10 December, 2010.

Thank you to our Early Stage 1 and Stage 1

classes for their cake donations. There was a

great selection and the whole school once again

enjoyed the generosity of our families. We are

so please to also have something for almost all

our children with donations of dairy and nut

free products as well. Unfortunately we did

miss Mr Bourke. He does enjoy our special

days. We hope you are making a speedy

recovery Mr Bourke.

Our canteen promotion day was also received

well last Wednesday. We will have one more

promotion day before the end of the term

- Dec 1. Shall have more details later.

Something to note in your dairy is our Carol's

Night. So far this will be on Thursday 9th

Dec. It will be a very casual evening where

your family can come and enjoy the festive

spirit. Children will be under the supervision of

their parents. We will be giving out more de-

tails soon. Our next meeting will be 15th Nov. See you

there.

Visual Arts Excels

Engadine Public School Niclole Gizas. Visual Arts Teacher, and the staff and students of EPS have presented their amazing achievements to the community on two separate occasions this last week. The White Ribbon Art Show was an outstanding success, showcasing the creative ability of the students under the guidance of their dynamic teacher, Mrs Gizas. All work was professionally presented and sales and silent auctions were fast and furious. All guests at the ‘White and Black’ event were stunned at the quality of the children’s work, which now has pride of place in many local homes and offices!

As well, Mrs Gizas was the designer and creative coordinator of the magnificent new mural unveiled this week in the Town Park in Engadine. The mural was painted by children from all the schools bordering the National Park (COSOP) including students, Heather and Mel from Engadine Public School. All of the community at EPS are very proud of the efforts of the staff and students.

The outstanding Visual Arts program is one of many quality programs offered at Engadine Public

School, and along with the beautiful facilities (including a new library and brand new or totally

refurbished classrooms for all K-4 students) provide a wonderful opportunity for your childrens’

education. Enrolments are still being taken for all classes in 2011.
