Safe Respectful Learners
everyone, everywhere, every time
2019 Meet & Greet Sessions
Parents and carers have the opportunity to reserve a 10-minute one-on-one session with their child's teacher. Additionally, school specialist and support staff will be on hand at both Meet & Greet sessions to discuss school programs and initiatives. We look forward to chatting with as many parents and carers as possible during these times.
Positive Behaviour for Learning
We are in the process of reviewing current Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) structures at school. We are seeking parent and carer feedback, suggestions and involvement in regard to our current rewards for Bronze, Silver and Gold levels. If you can spare a moment or two, we would really appreciate it if you could complete a very short PBL survey. The survey can be accessed by visiting the following link: https://goo.gl/forms/Lapp2liLLRDLIJbF3 Kirstie Yeo Principal
Our PBL Focus is on being ‘SAFE’. We are always safe at school.
We are safe because we keep our hands and our feet to ourselves.
Dunkley says, ‘I am safe. I am respectful. I am a learner.’

Year 6 Term 1 Update
Year 6 students have settled in well to the new school year and have been displaying their leadership skills by helping their buddies in the playground.
We all had a great time representing our Houses at the school swimming carnival. We all did really well and had fun participating throughout the day.
Along with our Literacy and Numeracy learning, we have been studying Australia as a Nation. Currently we are developing our understanding of the impacts that the U.K. and USA Government systems have on our own.
Students have been working on their self-awareness, confidence and respect by participating in Rock and Water lessons with Mrs Bishop each week.
P&C Annual General Meeting (AGM)
The first P&C meeting for the year is going to be held on Tuesday March 12. At this meeting, the current financial position of the P&C will be tabled, all positions will be declared vacant and processes will be followed to vote in a new P&C. All adult members of our school community are invited to attend and elect new office bearers for 2019. At the AGM we will be electing our P&C office bearer positions for 2019. We will also be acknowledging the incredible work of the volunteers on our 2018 P&C committees and reflect on what we can improve on this year. Some important things to know leading up to the AGM:
All members of our school community are able to attend any meeting of the P&C Before the official AGM commences, parents, carers and community members will need to become financial
members so that they can be nominated and vote. It costs just 50 cents to become a financial member Nomination forms need to be completed and submitted prior to the AGM
Everyone in our school community is welcome to attend! If you are new to the school, we would like to extend a very warm welcome. It is always fantastic to have new faces and new members participate and share new ideas. Upcoming events for the new 2019 P&C include potential fundraising opportunities at the State Elections where voting will be hosted on school grounds, Athletics Carnival, Easter Raffle and so much more…! Please find later in this newsletter nomination forms. Additional nomination forms and detailed position descriptions are available at the office or on request. Completed nomination forms can be left at the office anytime from now until the March 12 P&C AGM. Uniform Expectations
This is just a friendly reminder about the expectations of our school uniform as provided by our P&C. Our school expectations extend to safety requirements regarding headwear and jewellery. All families and students are reminded that ‘dangly’ earrings are not permitted and pose a safety risk, as do necklaces and chains worn around necks. These items are not to be worn to school and students will be reminded to pop these items in their bags to take home. All ribbons, scrunchies, headbands and headwear that students choose to wear to school are to be in school colours, and of a size that allows students to continue to wear their school hat for sun safety. Thank you for your cooperation and assistance in this matter.
Please be advised that the Uniform shop is open every Tuesday morning from 8.30am Please find a uniform order form later in this newsletter. Orders can be left at the office at any time, and once filled they can be sent home with students.
