CBDC Scholarship Winners Named CBDC is happy to announce our three win-ners of our annual scholarship through the Community Foundation of Central Illinois.
Congratulations to Hunter M., Andrew D., and Alexander C. on being our 2013 CBDC Scholarship recipients. Each recipient was granted $1,500 towards their higher edu-cation for the upcoming 2013 school year.
The CBDC Scholarship Fund is made available from donations throughout the years given to the Community Foundation of Central Illinois. It was set up to help individuals looking to attain higher learning and offset expenses to do so.
This is the second year that CBDC made the scholarship available to anyone locat-ed in the United States with a congenital bleeding disorder and the first year that the application could be completed entirely online. CBDC Summertime Safety Tips
1.) Enjoy the Sun - Don’t Get Burned: Dermatologists suggest SPF 15 or greater sunblock.
2.) Bug Off: Mosquitos, bees, and ticks are especially active in summer. Wearing light colors and insect repelent with DEET can help keep the pests away.
3.) Take a Dip: Swimming is easy on the joints of folks with bleeding disorders, but take care to obey any posted pool rules, avoid swimming alone, and make sure to wait at least 30 minutes before jumping in the pool after a meal.
4.) Stay Hydrated: The summer heat is a major cause of dehydration - make sure to get plenty of water before, during, and after outdoor activities.
5.) Know Your Limits: Pay attention to what your body is telling you, if you need to cool down - find some air conditioning and relax.

States have had few options in health insurance exchange imple-mentation: a State-Based Ex-change, a Federal-State Partnership Exchange, or Federally Facilitated Exchange.
Since there is less than a year left before ex-changes must be operational, states that have not already begun implementation and plan on having an exchange will most likely have a partnership exchange or a federal ex-change.
