Mission Statement

The Diablo Numismatic Society of Concord, CA is a non-profit

coin collecting club dedicated to serving all of it’s members

from beginner to expert – with focus on three priorities:

education, fellowship, and fun!

The SOCIETY meets monthly on the third Thursday at the Concord

Police Community Meeting Room located at 1350 Galindo Street in

Concord. Doors open at 6PM and meeting starts at 7PM

DIABLO NUMISMATIC COIN CLUB MEETING JUNE 15, 2017

The meeting was called to order at 7:02 pm by President, Larry Casagrande. 33 attended, which included returning member, Jim Gallegus.

The On Time prize, a book on U.S. Paper Money was won by Pavel Soltys

Minutes from the May 18th meeting were read by Maria Stillwagon - Club Secretary.

Treasurer Kyle Anderson reports the general checking account as of today has a balance of $4,150.03. The 2017 Coin Show account is $4,468.18.

The following announcements were made: 1. Bill Greene announced his Concord Coin Show.2. Fairfield and Walnut Creek Elks Lodge shows were also announced.3. Mr. S. Michael Turrini announced the upcoming NCNA Symposium being held at the Vallejo Navel Museum in

September 2017. He also mentioned that a Legacy Fund has been set up in the name of Jon Maria Marsh who isterminal.

4. Kyle Anderson announced the clubs annual BBQ that will be held on July 8, 2017 at Borgess Ranch. Dinnercatered by Kinders and will start at 4 PM. This will be in lieu of our usual Coin Club meeting on July 20th.

5. The DVD history of the Diablo Numismatic Society is available for $20. (Proceeds’ will go to the ConcordWomen’s Shelter.

6. Maria Stillwagon announced that the clubs drawing tickets for our upcoming October 2017 Coin Show areavailable for members to purchase and/or help sell.

The Program: Occupation Notes of WWII – Mark Clarkson in tandem with Kyle Anderson Will be available to view on our website soon if you missed it. They did an outstanding job…..

Show & Tell: 7 entries. S. Michael Turrini won a Silver Round that resembled the Buffalo Nickel.

50/50 Drawing: $60 was the total pot. Jim Gallegus won $30.

We can all agree that our club is one of the best in Northern California. This just didn't happen...It took hardwork, perserverance, dedication, support, and the love of collecting from members over the years.

Our club has been very fortunate in having dedicated officers, board members at large, members who step up to take on special projects, and our members.

Our club has grown substancially and with that comes new members with a special knowledge or talent in the Numismatic field. With this knowledge base, each of us cannot deny that we have learned aspects of collecting that we weren't aware of or may only have had a small knowledge base of.

Each one of you has special knowledge and/or talents that the club is seeking assistance with. Please step up and do your part in assisting the board collective. It is greatly appreciated.

Participation should be done by all, not just the few!
