Telephone Bidding

Requests for telephone bidding must beregistered at least one hour prior to theclose of the View Day. We will not acceptrequests on the Day of Sale. Absentee Bidding

Coloured Stones

It should be noted that gemstones areoften treated to improve theirappearance. Heating, for instance, canintensify the colour or transparency ofsapphires and rubies, whilst oiling canimprove the clarity of emeralds. Theinternational jewellery trade generallyaccepts these methods. Once heated,the colour enhancement is permanent,though there may be some effect on thedurability of the gemstone in question.Once a gemstone has been oiled, theprocess may need to be repeated in thefuture to maintain the clarity.

Watches

All Lots are sold as seen, and theabsence of any reference to the conditionof a watch does not imply the lot is ingood condition and without defects,repairs or restorations. Most watcheshave been repaired in the course of theirnormal lifetime and may now incorporateparts not original to them. We do notundertake any inspection of any watchesprior to any Sale. We make norepresentation or warranty that anywatch is in working order. As watchesoften contain fine and complexmechanisms, Prospective Buyers shouldbe aware that a general service, changeof battery or further repair work, for whichthey are solely responsible, may benecessary.

Vehicles/Motorbikes

Some furniture offered in the sale (asapplicable) was not originally intended foruse in a private home and will be soldunder the category “works of art”.
