What is the DELF?The Diplôme d’études en langue française (DELF) is an internationally recognized test of French proficiency. It is based on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), which defines language proficiency along six global levels: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2. At each level, proficiency is measured across four competencies: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The French Ministry of National Education awards successful candidates a diploma that is valid for life.

Who Can Take the DELF?Students enrolled in a Grade 12 FSL course in the 2018-2019 school year, and who have not previously written the DELF.

What is required? The Kawartha Pine Ridges DSB offers students a choice of 4 test levels: A1, A2, B1, or B2. The choice of level should be made in conjunction with your FSL teacher. The DELF has two components, a written exam and an oral interview, both of which take place at Peterborough Collegiate Vocational School (PCVS), 201 McDonnel Street Peterborough.

How do students sign up?Students need to complete two steps to register. They must complete the on-line registration form available via the KPR website as well as forward a completed parental consent form to their French teacher. Both steps need to be completed before February 15, 2019. Spaces may fill up quickly, so all interested students are urged to register early.
