When you make your way to church this Sunday, take a minute and count the Lottie Moon paper dolls that have been taped to the wall outside of the Fireside Room. Each one represents $4 that has been given to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering (LMCO) for International Missions. Our hope is to have 4,900 paper dolls taped to the walls of our church by the end of December representing the
4,900 Southern Baptist missionaries serving with the International Mission Board. It will mean that we will have to give generously and sacrificially to be able to reach our LMCO goal of $20,000. Please pray about what you can give to this important offering and consider making it the greatest gift you give this Christmas season!
Speaking of missions, we will hear this Sunday morning from Roy and Jenna McIntyre, members of our church and missionaries to Malaysia. Please come and support the McIntyres as they share with us how we can partner with them to get the gospel to whose who need it! Also, this Sunday night we will hear from David Platt, the newly elected president of our International Mission Board. David is one of the most gifted preachers I know and is extremely passionate about missions. The IMB is asking churches to show this video of David preaching a message entitled “The Obligation of the Gospel” from Romans chapter 1. Please spread the word and encourage others to come as we see from God’s Word how we are obligated to give sacrificially and go willingly as we seek to proclaim the gospel! In His Service, Bro. Bob
Important: The $20 deposit for D-Now @ Crossings is due December 10th. Anyone who wants to attend MUST have their deposit paid by this date. Payments can be made to the church office, online, or to Zach.
Wednesday December 17th the youth will be having a Mexican Fiesta Christmas party! If you would like to contribute a dish for the evening contact Zach. Feel free to dress up in your ponchos and sombreros or in a luchador costume! We will have a piñata to bust and watch Nacho Libre.
Worship Music for Sunday (December 7) This Sunday Roy and Jenna McIntyre will share the message at
BOTH AM services! They are our resident missionaries, and will share about their work in Malaysia! Our praise
team will lead our music at the 8:30 a.m. service! Our Ladies Trio (Katrina Oney, Glenda Thompson, and Mary
Pat Young) will open the 10:50 a.m. service with the "There Is Joy" Medley! Lance and Stacy will play the
instruments for the second am service! Plus, the Worship Choir will share a toe-tapping anthem from their Christmas
Musical: "King Jesus Is His Name!" Sunday night the Hims of Harmony will share 3 Christmas songs for the Evening
Service! The Evening Message will be a video recording of David Platt's Lottie Moon Challenge for 2014: "Our Obligation to
the Unreached," from Romans 1:1-16! Lance and Glenda will play the instruments this Sunday night!
Hims of Harmony Sing THIS SUNDAY NIGHT (Dec. 7)
The Hims will meet in the Choir Room at 5:30 to rehearse and prepare 3 Christmas Songs for the Evening Service! Come
Sing with the men THIS SUNDAY NIGHT! Wear your red shirts or something "Christmasy"!
Worship Choir "Bonus Rehearsals" (Every Sunday Night) The singers of our Worship Choir, will have some "extra
rehearsals" at 7:00 (just after the Evening Service) in the Choir Room to rehearse and prepare "One Small Child" to be
shared with our church family on Sunday night, December 21 as the 6:00 service that night! This will give us 2 extra
rehearsals to prepare the musical in addition to our Wednesday night rehearsal times! See You THIS SUNDAY NIGHT!
Yours in Christ, Mark
There are several things coming up on the horizon for FBC Kids. This Sunday, we will be having play practice for all kids participating in the Christmas Musical at 3:30pm in the Sanctuary. If your child has been coming to choir on Wednesday nights, they are a part of the musical. We need all actors, dancers, soloists, and choir members. We will be doing a run-through of the musical. At 5:00pm we will be having our AWANA Christmas Store.
This coming Wednesday will be our dress rehearsal at 6:00pm in the Sanctuary. Again, we will need everyone who is in the musical to be here. This rehearsal will go until around 8:00pm. I understand some children have bed times around then, so if your child needs to leave early, that is okay. There is nothing special your kids need to wear for the dress rehearsal. We will provide any kids needing costumes with one. Our Musical presentation will be on Sunday at 6:00pm. I would like to have all kids come at 4:00pm so we can do a quick rehearsal before getting ready for the performance. The dress is Christmas attire. There are no tickets required, but I would recommend getting here early as the best seats don’t last long. Afterwards, we will be having a reception in our CLC. We will have finger foods and desserts. Blessings, Adam
