• N: Once upon a time there was a boy.

• Every thing in the house was old.

• And the door of the boy’s bedroom was the noisiest door in the world!

.N: That’s a scary noise,

made the boy very nervous.

• He thought monsters lived in his closet.

• R1:So the grandmother kissed him goodnight,

• 所以祖母吻他道晚安• R2:She turned out the light.• 她關了燈• R3:And she closed the creaky

door! 並且關上那扇很吵的門

A: Ahhhhhhhhh! Eeeeeeeee! OH!

• N: Every night, the boy jumped under his bed!

• 每天晚上,那男孩跳到床底下

Then the grandmother ran back up the stairs, and cried out,

A:“You’re driving me crazy!” 你把我給搞瘋了!

N:Well, one night the grandmother had anidea. 喔!有一天祖母有了個點子

She said, 她說

• “Tommorrow night I will put the cat in bed with you!” 明天晚上我要放一隻貓在你床上陪你睡覺

• “Not the cat!” said the boy. The cat sometimes scratched.

• 不要貓,男孩說,貓有時會亂抓

“The very thing!” said Grandma. 正是這樣,祖母說 ,

And the next night grandmother put the cat in bed with the boy.隔天晚上祖母將貓放在床上跟男孩一起睡Then she said, 然後她說

N:And the boy said, 而男孩說

A:“Nah! Not me!” 不!不會

idea.

She knew what to do! She said,

“Tomorrow night I will put the dog in bed with

you!”

Not the dog! said the boy.

• The dog had bad breath. ( 口臭)

• “The very thing!” said Grandma.

• And the next night grandmother put the dog in bed with the boy. Then she said,

N: And the boy said,

A: “Nah! Not me!”

R1: So the grandmother kissed him goodnight.

R2: She turned out the light,

R3: and she closed the creaky door.

A: Ahhhhhhhhhhhh! Eeeeeeeeeeee! OH!

• N : Then the grandmother had an idea. She knew what to do! She said, “ tomorrow night I will put the pig in bed with you!” “ Not the pig!” said the boy. The pig made disgusting( 噁心的) , noises( 噪音) . “ The very thing!” said Grandma. And the next night grandmother, put the pig in bed with the boy. Then she said,

• A: Nah! Not me!

• R1: So the grandmother kissed him goodnight.

The boy didn’t like the snake at all, “ The very thing!” said Grandma. And the next night grandmother, put the snake in bed with the boy. Then she said,

• N: The boy, his grandmother, and all of the animals (動物 ) dug themselves out ( 把他們自己挖出) from under the house. The cat said.

A: Meow!

• N: The dog said,• A: arff,arff!• N: The pig said,• A: Oink,oink!• N: The snake said,• A: Sssssssss!• N: The boy, his Grandma, and the

animals dusted themselves off( 把他們自己身上的灰塵撢掉) .

They looked at the rocks around them. 他們看著四周的岩石 .

N: And there in the middle of the mess 在混亂之間 stood 站立著

the creaky door!• R1: The boy went to the door.

• R2: He put his hand on the door knob.

• R3: He opened the door.• N: And guess what ?猜猜怎麼了• He heard (聽見) the same (一樣的)

old sounds (老聲音) all over again(一遍又一遍) . He heard,

• N: That poor boy will never get away from… 那個可憐的男孩將永遠離不開
