The Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto is delighted to organize and host the CCC Toronto Piano Competition 2016 in recognition of our youth at the same time affording them the opportunity to demonstrate their potential in the performance and knowledge of classical music.

It is the organizer’s hope that the Competition will encourage students to learn from each other and from evaluation by respected music adjudicators. It is further hoped that it will be an incentive to the students to continue their pursuit of excellence.

The concept for a music festival originated with Youth Ambassadors Lang Ning Liu and Lu Wang. Without their initiative, tenacity and sheer hard work, the competition might have remained a pipe dream

We congratulate the members of our Youth in Motion team for upholding their prom-ise by nurturing and paving the way for youth to showcase their talent now and in the future, it is hoped some will go into a career in music.

It is a welcome endeavour by the Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto to host the CCC Toronto Piano Competition 2016. The cre-ation of the competition reflects the multicultural character of this country.

It will play a critical role in the future of many aspiring young pia-nists. The participants will have a common goal: to excel through the universal language of music.

Their talent and dedication must be nurtured. Therefore I believe that this competition carries the mission to recognize their potential and stimulate them to rise to the heights of their capabilities.

It is my wish that this opportunity will prove a milestone on the participants’ journey towards fulfilling their dreams.
