Cocktail Cooler Energy Conversions

• The mass has potential energy which converts into kinetic energy when it’s released

• The catapult transfers the kinetic energy in the mass into kinetic energy for the projectile.

• A collision occurs when the projectile hits the target which transfers the kinetic energy to the bottle.

• The liquid inside is emptied and takes on the form of kinetic energy down the funnel and out the other end of the tube.

Conclusions

• Energy conversions are cool but having a cold drink is a lot cooler!

• Duct tape can be used for everything.

• Don’t drink the liquid out of our cooler and then drive.

• It is easier to hit a larger target.
