You’re invited to join other Christians for 40 Days for Life – forty days of prayer and fasting, concluding on November 3, for an end to abortion. You’re also invited to stand and peacefully pray during a 40-day vigil in the public right-of-way near Goshen Planned Parenthood, 7 Coates Drive. St. John's Church sponsors every Friday during the campaign from 7:00am to 12:00pm. During these hours we ask for a minimum of two prayer volun-teers per hour. Sign up sheets are in the back of the church if you're available to pray at Goshen Planned Parenthood OR you can sign up to pray any day of the week by going to the website 40daysforlife.com/Goshen. We invite couples who have celebrated – or will be celebrating – their 25th, 50th, or 60th wedding anni-versaries any time during 2019 to the annual WEDDING ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION on Sunday, November 17. The festivities begin at 12:00pm Mass, and will continue with a light reception in the parish house afterward. If you’d like to participate, please contact the parish office with your name and date and church of marriage.
This Friday, November 1 is the SOLEMNITY OF ALL SAINTS, a holy day of obligation. Mass will be celebrated that day in the church at 6:30am, 9:00am (with the students of St. John School), 12:05pm and 7:00pm.
On Saturday, November 2, ALL SOULS’ DAY, Mass will be celebrated at 8:00am; there will also be a brief service at St. John’s Cemetery at 12:00pm.
There is no Bingo on Thursday, October 31.
Daylights Savings Time ends next Sunday, November 3. Remember to set your clocks back one hour on November 2!
The sacrament of CONFIRMATION will be celebrated at St. John’s on Friday, November 15 at 5:00pm and Saturday, November 16 at 10:00am. Please pray for our candidates, their sponsors, their parents and their fami-lies!

The Heart of Mary Women’s Prayer Group will host a RETREAT DAY this Monday, October 28 at Marycrest Convent, 164 Quaker Hill Road in Monroe from 8:45am to 2:00pm. The day will begin promptly at 8:45am with Mass, Holy Hour and confession with Fr. George.
Bring lunch (dessert and beverages will be provided). After lunch a talk about the foundress, Mother Mary Teresa Tallon, will be offered, as well as time for a walk on the wooded property. The day will conclude with ro-sary in the chapel and time to socialize. Donations will be collected.

Please remember to pray daily for an increase in vocations to the priesthood and religious life.
Everyone is invited to participate in “33 DAYS TO MORNING GLORY” A DO-IT-YOURSELF RETREAT IN PREPARATION FOR MARIAN CONSECRATION. There are booklets available in the narthex of the church. The daily prayers begin on November 5 and conclude with the consecration on December 8, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception. (Because December 8 is a Sunday this year, the solemnity is transferred to December 9.)
The construction work in the church continues apace. We are awaiting delivery of quite a few materials (e.g., ceiling tiles, floor tiles, doors) which are either on back-order or had to be custom ordered. We expect delivery of many of these items this week or next. Thank you for your continued patience!
This Friday, November 1 is the First Friday. Confessions will be heard on Thursday, October 31 from 4:00 to 4:30pm in the chapel sacristy. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will begin after the 6:30am Mass on Friday and continue until Saturday morning at 7:45am. There is a sign up sheet where you
may list the time you wish to spend with Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. Remember: the Blessed Sacra-ment should never be left unattended.

Reminder: Home School Program meeting on Saturday, November 2 from 9:30 to 11:00am in the church hall. Students and a parent must attend!. Please remember to complete your lessons at home.
It is once again time to start thinking about Christmas. The Parish office will be accepting forms for the Giving Tree between November 1 and
November 15, Monday—Friday between the hours of 9:30am and 3:30pm. If you or someone you know are in need of a little help this Christmas, please come in and fill out a form. All names are confidential and will not be shared with anyone outside the committee. All gifts will be distributed on Monday, December 16.
