THE CHRISTMAS WISH

One night in Spain a boy named Francisco was looking out the window, waiting for something not

knowing what he was waiting for. He was just waiting. Suddenly a shooting star came zooming

by. Now he knew what he was waiting for. He only had a minute to do this so he did. He said,” Star

light star bright the first star I see tonight I wish I may I wish I might wish upon this star tonight, I

wish for snow, lots and lots of snow.”

Mama came into the room and told Francisco it was time for bed she said, ”You need a good night sleep tonight to rest you up for the Christmas feast, we are going to have all of your favorite foods.”

Z z z z z

The next morning Francisco woke up extra early to see if his wish came true. When he looked out the window he couldn’t see anything; everything was white! Esperanza (his sister) woke up. She couldn’t believe her eyes, and neither could anybody else when they woke up.

The streets were covered with snow, the stores were covered with snow, the lawns were covered with snow, everything was covered with snow and it was still snowing.

Everything was closed and nobody could drive any were. The Christmas feast was called off. Christmas was ruined, and it was all Francisco’s fault.

Meanwhile down at the North Pole, Papa Noel was trying to figure out how to stop the blizzard. He figured out that something was wrong with the weather machine. If Papa Noel didn’t fix the weather machine, Christmas could be ruined for all the little boys and girls in Spain.

Something was jammed in the weather machine and it wasn’t coming out. Papa Noel got his best Elves on the job.

Back at the house, Esperanza was helping her mother clean up the dishes off of the table. Francisco was trying to explain what had happened.

Miguel, Papa’s head elf had finally un-jammed the weather machine. He changed it from “blizzard” to “light snow”.

Back at Francisco’s house, there still wasn’t enough time to get everything ready.

Papa Noel got everything for the feast, got all the decorations, and flew into Spain.

They had all of there favorite foods, turon, spanish ham, lomo, deep fried peppers stuffed with cod, roast goat, croquets, salad, flan, café con hielo, licor de orujo, and cakes.

Everyone had a big Christmas feast and Christmas was saved.
