From the pen of the

President

As the President of the Chamber, nothing is more exciting than an Annual Banquet where our membership can come together and celebrate the success of our organization and the citizens who have gone above and beyond to make Lockhart the wonderful community it is. The Board of Di-rectors and Staff would like to thank each of our Table Sponsors and Advertising Sponsors and everyone who at-tended. We have had tons of compliments on the band, JumpStart and you seemed to like the new format for the program. If you have suggestions for next year, our 80th Annual Banquet, please let us know. We are now focusing on the advertising for the 2nd Annual Texas Lone Star Grand Prix on March 1 & 2 around the downtown streets of Lockhart. The Lockhart Chamber is looking for volunteers to help with the Beverage Booth and as Crossing Guards. If you are interested in helping, all you need is a great attitude and smiling face that will welcome tourists to our community. Giving a great impression means more retail dollars and economic activity in our community. This benefits us all! Speaking of economic activity, I have been saying for months that Lockhart is the last frontier for the growth in the Central Texas. In the coming months many great things will happen. D.R. Horton will begin building new homes and we know of at least two new industries coming to town. This means new neighbors and new jobs. It has been a great start to 2014 and incredible time to be a citizen of Lockhart! Becki Womble President/CEO
