1 Expected Change in Core Capacity

1.2 Networking Equipment

1During 2010 KRENA will expand network infrastructure to regions of Kyrgyz Republic

2 By the CAREN Project KRENA’s core capacity will grow up to 34 Mbps

3Now KRENA team is developing new project on implementation of wireless networks (WiFi / WiMAX) in educational structures

Typically, the core capacity goes up in leaps, sometimes involving a change from one type of technology to another. Note also that it is not always easy to predict the evolution in core capacity. This is because this evolution depends on many factors, such as developments in technology, pricing and the availability of sufficient funds for investment.

KRENA’s equipments are mainly consist of several core switches and router. But in order to develop further, KRENA needs serious investments of networking equipments.

KRENA is updating its equipment to meet CAREN network requirements

KRENA has full CISCO CCNA Bundle which is now we are using for Cisco Local Academy for Human Resource Development on Educational Institutions

In addition to Networking Services, KRENA has plenty of services in many directions, starting from education to scientific researches .

KRENA Services

Coordination of Development Application : Telemedicine, Distance education, Seismology, Disaster prevention and Water Management.

KRENA providing Cisco Laboratories to other academies which doesn’t have training equipment and providing CCNA Training courses

CERT – on testing phase.

• Development of Eduroam project service for Kyrgyzstan

• Authentication and Authorization services for Eduroam.

• Establishment of Educational CERT service in Kyrgyzstan.

• Establishment of e-Library for education and research institutions

• Training services (CCNA Exploration, CCNA Security, Cloud

Computing[Virtualization], Network operation systems[UNIX/LINUX/WINDOWS

SERVER])

• Hosting services

• VDS (Virtual Private Server) hosting services



3.2 FUTURE PLANS

2010 - 2011 Plans

•Establishment of central Authorization and Identification Services•Implementation and deployment of EDUROAM service among Universities, Institutions, Research Centers and other educational structures.

•By the agreement between KRENA and The Ministry Of Educations and Science KR in 2010 - 2011 KRENA will establish E-Library which will host all electronic educational materials and books from Ministry Of Educations and Science.•By project of NATO Science Committee all schools of Chuy region will have an internet connection•During 2nd part of 2010 other regional cities will be connected
