As it has been asserted, with a view of defeatingthe movement, that the Administration intendordering the troops away from homo as soon asthey are mastered in, I would remark that theSecretary of War expressly pledges that they••shall he stationed on the Eastern of Shore ofMaryland." and u-edonly for •• Homo Protection.”I state this fact for (ho benefit of those who arcwillingto do all they can for their country in itspresent peril, hut whose circumstances are such asprevents their going abroad. The necessity ofthis movement must he apparent to every candidand considerate mind. We arc already threatenedby the enemies of the country. At any momentwe arc liable to have civil war in our midst. Intimes of Revolution no one can tell into whatperil a single day may place us. it behooves usto prepare, and ho ready for any emergency, ereit bo too late, ft is high time that Marylanderswere armed and prepared to protect themselvesagainst adventuring Rebels.

The Time of Enlistment will be three years,or until the end of the War.

A COMPANYconsists, when full, of One Captain, Two Licntentints, One First Sergeant, Four Sergeants, EightCorporals. Two Musicians, One Wagoner, andEighty-Iwo Privales.

Each Company will select its own officers, sub-ject to the approval of the War Department

Each soldier is entitled to a bounty of One Hun-dred Dollars when discharged from service.

THE DISPOSITION OF THE TROOPS.

As many inquiries have horn made concerningtlm disposition of the companies, I would remarkthat the Government pays each man for his fulllimc. mid assumes that he will give the whole ofthis time to the service. But it is the evident andwritten intention of the Government to afford.-eeurity to the homes of us all To accomplishthis it would appear to bo necessary to keep eachcompany stationed in the neighborhood in whichit was organized, as much as possible. Each com-pany must be on muster everyday. The wholeforce, it is contemplated, will be brought togetherat stated periods —s.iy once in a month, or oftoner,as the exigency of Hie times and the public servicemay require, Jt is designed, I presume, to loteach company protect its own homos and neigh-borhood. in the main.
