PARKING RESTRICTIONS TO APPLY AT ST. KIERAN’S CARPARK

FOR 6PM AND 8PM VIGIL MASSES 24th DECEMBER

For safety reasons only authorised people will be allowed to park in the Church Grounds for the 6.00pm and 8pm Vigil Masses and parking for the 8.00pm Mass will not be available until the area is free following the earlier Mass.

Rostered ministers, listed assistants, musicians and choir, need to collect parking permits during opening hours from the parish office. Others, with a genuine need, should contact the parish office for one. Cars dropping off people with walking difficulties will be given access to do so provided there are no safety issues. They may be asked to wait until the area is clearer if they arrive too early for the 6.00pm or 8.00pm Mass

A big THANK YOU to all who have recently supported St Vincent de

Question of the Week ‘Rejoice, favoured one, the Lord is with you.’ Luke 1:28

At school: This week I will be glad that

God loves me sooo much!

At work or study: God has chosen me, you, them, all of us.

We have class!

In my family life: Do we see God’s favour and delight

resting on us all, on everyone?

Prayer this week! God, you make good choices, all the time you love all people.

And why not, for we are all made in your image. Thanks for this. How wonderful!

Bishop Peter on the Martin Place Tragedy

”This morning our communities are coming to terms with the deep pain

and loss that has come at the end of the terrorising and tragic

circumstances that have occurred at Martin Place. My heartfelt prayers

go out to the families of those who have lost their lives; to those injured;

to those that have suffered unimaginable anguish; and to those who

have worked selflessly to bring about the best outcome in this sad and

violent situation.

I am conscious, too, of the distress this event has created for the people

of the city of Sydney, and in the wider Australian community. May I

assure you that our Catholic community stands with all our neighbours at this time, and especially applauds the

various displays of interfaith solidarity.

In this Advent season, as our communities look with expectation to the coming of

the Christ-child, may we hold close to our hearts those whose lives have been

forever changed.

I pray that we remain committed to the cause of justice

and peace, to healing and understanding, and that in the

shadow of this tragedy, we may all come to know that

God’s love holds us to Him.”

Yours sincerely in Christ Jesus,

Most Rev Peter A Comensoli Bishop of Broken Bay

From St. Augustine: Lord, You are

my helper and

the helper of

everyone who

reaches out to

You. Indeed, You are my

Redeemer for the very purpose

of enabling me to

reach out to You.

The Parish office will close from on Christmas Eve and reopen Monday January 5. If you need to urgently contact a priest, call the office on 9949 4455 and, when the automated system directs you, press 4 to be put through to the Priory. Alternatively you can call the 24 hour service 1300 PRIEST (1300 774 378) and you will be put in contact with a priest from the Broken Bay Diocese.

Next year we will be changing our banking procedures for credit card payments. For those who donate to planned giving via credit card there may be a change to the date your payment is processed. We will be emailing or writing to everybody in the New Year with details of any changes. Christmas Offering envelopes are available in the church foyer for anyone who may wish to donate a little something extra to the Priests at this time of year. For those who donate via the envelope system an offering envelope is also included in your set of planned giving envelopes to be used at your discretion, in appreciation of the work of the clergy.

Why Worry? There are only 2 things to worry about; either

you are well or you are sick. If you are well,

then there is nothing to worry about, but if you

are sick then there are 2 things for you to

worry about; either you will get well or you will

die. If you get well then there is nothing to

worry about. If you die then there are 2 things

to worry about—either you go up or you go

down. If you go up then there is nothing to

worry about but if you go down you

will be so busy shaking hands with old

friends you won’t have time to worry!
