• Application Priority Filing Period is October 1st‐November 30th

• Students are more likely to receive application assistance from a CSU Campus if they contact a CSU Campus in October versus November

• The CSU Application takes about 1‐2 hours to complete in one sitting• CSU Mentor is faster in October than November due to volume

Page 20: THE CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY · High school graduation “a-g”completion ... specified deadlines (transcripts, test scores, SIR) Pay special attention to campus impaction requirements

2. Using an invalid email address or Not Checking Email

Not applying to their local campus or a non‐impacted campus (have a back up plan)

Page 23: THE CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY · High school graduation “a-g”completion ... specified deadlines (transcripts, test scores, SIR) Pay special attention to campus impaction requirements

Other CSU Mentor Tips

• CSU Mentor has instructions and tutorial videos for every page of the application.

• Students need to submit payment for application ($55.00) if they do not qualify for a fee waiver.  CSU campuses will not process an application without a fee.

• Check "Yes" to the question on the CSU application about EOP to indicate that you are interested in receiving more information. This does not mean you have applied for EOP; you still must complete an EOP application.

• After you have submitted an application, a student should receive a confirmation email from the campus within 24‐48 hours.

• Once you’ve completed and submitted one application, your application information will auto‐populate if you choose to apply to another CSU.
