Our New 5th Grade Teacher

By Catherine and Kaylee

We have some very exciting news! The fifth

grade got a new science and social studies

teacher, Mrs. Coleman. She had taught for

eleven years at

Haley

Elementary.

She taught

nine years of

first grade and

two years of

second grade.

Her

homeroom

number at

Saint Charles

School is 5-16.

On a personal note, Mrs. Coleman has four

kids: two boys and two girls. Her birthday is

June 20th. Her favorite food is steak, and she

likes to eat at Casa Grande. Mrs. Coleman loves

that she and her students pray daily. She also

loves that her students come eager to learn. We

cannot wait to have a great year with Mrs.

Coleman!

edition of The Cardinal Chronicle, please see

St. Therese of Lisieux

By Room 1-24

St. Therese of Lisieux was born on January 2,

1873, in France. Her mother died when she

was four years old, and she was raised by her

father and three older sisters. Therese became

a Carmelite nun when she was fourteen years

old. Her three sisters also became nuns. When

she was young, she suffered from an

unexplained illness. She was cured when a

statue of Our Blessed Mother smiled at her.

Therese spent her life doing little acts of

kindness and sacrifice, even when she became

ill with tuberculosis. She died of this disease

when she was just 24 years old.

Saint Therese of Lisieux by Elizabeth

St. Therese promised to spend her heaven

answering prayers and “letting fall a shower of

roses!” Many people have experienced her

answer to prayers accompanied with roses.

Therese was canonized a saint in 1925. Her

feast day is on October 1st. Her little way has

inspired many people to gain heaven by being

kind and loving! We can all become saintly by

imitating her!

The Bullermans

By Theresa, Kim and Addi

We asked Mr. and Mrs. Bullerman some

questions about how they like the school. They

both had similar answers.

We asked them “What do you think about

the school? What do you like and what do you

dislike?” They love being able to go to Mass

with their classes. They said there is a strong

faith here and a positive culture. Mr. B. (the

sixth grade aide and Mr. Bullerman’s dad) said

that the school is awesome and that there are

specific procedures that the students all follow

well. This will be his first year at St. Charles

and he also teaches at Ivy Tech in the body

shop. It is his ninth year there.

We then asked them “What is different

from your old school?” They said that the

school in Indianapolis where they taught only

had 7th and 8th grade students, while here we

have K-8th grade.

The students say they like the teachers and

they think it’ll be a great year. Also, they love

the Bullermans and think that they are kind

and loving to the students. We are thankful

the Bullermans are here at St. Charles.

Members of the National Junior Honor Society carry donations to a truck heading to Texas for hurricane relief efforts. The St. Charles School collection was organized by eighth grader, Mitchell Voglewede.
