JOIN THE CHAMPION MACMILLAN PIPE BAND for an evening of traditional and contemporary music from the Great Highland Bagpipe, with tunes drawn from all over the world, including classics such as Scotland the Brave, Amazing Grace, and American classics like Shenandoah—plus world-class jigs, reels, and more! The evening will also feature special guest Seán Heely, US National Fiddle Champion!

The MacMillan Pipe Band of the Greater Washington, D.C. region is one of the United States’ most successful competitive bagpipe bands. From local performances in Mary-land, D.C., and Virginia, to the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow, Scotland, MacMillan is the torchbearer for a long history of world-class bagpipe and drum music from the U.S. Capitol area—with nearly a dozen world-champion musicians in their ranks!

Pipe Major Andrew Donlon is one of the finest pipers in the world today, with an im-pressive and growing number of wins and placements here and in Scotland. In addition to leading the band, he will perform solo on one of the most beautiful-sounding—and haunting—set of pipes to be heard on either side of the Atlantic. His performance alone is worth the price of admission!

MULTI-GENRE VIOLINIST/FIDDLER SEÁN HEELY is one of the most creatively versatile and captivating young artists of his generation. He is a U.S National Scottish Fiddle Champion as well as an award-winning Irish Fiddler and singer in the folk traditions of Scotland and Ire-land. Currently based in Washington DC, Seán performs locally and abroad with the Seán Heely Celtic Trio, Glencoe Lads and Skylark. He is a musical ambassador for the British Embassy Scottish Affairs Office and the St. Andrew’s Society of Wash-ington. He also frequently travels abroad as a solo artist, has been a speaker at events such as the Scottish North American Leadership Conference, and maintains a private teaching studio in Falls Church, VA.
