Maine Lobster Festival at Rockland’s Harbor Park

• Held from August 3rd to August 7th, the five days are full of contests, vendors, food, and entertainment. Just two hours from Portland and four hours from Boston, this is a perfect quick trip from other New England cities if the itinerary doesn’t allow for all five days of the festival.

• Some favorite events include The Great Lobster Crate Race gives everyone brave enough a chance to race across crates stretched out over the chilly ocean. For those who like to exercise on vacation, there will also be a 10k and 5K race the morning of August 7th, and the 5k has a walking option. With over 20,000 pounds of lobster served during the festival, including 1,700 pounds of butter, the 69th Annual Lobster Festival is a great experience.
