Population: Alton High School• Total school population: 2,097 students• Three class periods•Sophomore- Senior grade levels•Health classes

Needs Assessment• 37.8 percent of AHS students reporting being victimized within the past 12 months (as compared to 10 percent of a national sample)• 32.8 percent of AHS students reporting having been the perpetrator of bullying within the past 12 months (as compared to 13 percent of a national sample)

Mission Statement & Goals• The mission of The Beef About Bullies
program is to provide high school students with the knowledge and skills to combat and prevent bullying.
Goal 1: To increase knowledge about the negative effects of bullying.Goal 2: To provide bullying intervention skills to students.Goal 3: To increase students perceived ability to intervene in a bullying situation.
