THE ADVANTAGES ARE OBVIOUS. The driver can comfortably control the Becker MAP PILOT like an integ-rated navigation system. Familiar operation, using the voice recognition based “one shot” address input, the multifunc-tion steering wheel, and the rotating COMAND interface knob is available. All functions are indicated in the central display and in the combination instrument. Audible driving directions are heard through the vehicle speakers. As with a per manently installed system, the sound volume of radio programs or music is automatically reduced while audible driving directions are given. Beyond this, the Becker MAP PILOT utilizes the car’s own GPS and TMC antennas, assuring the best possible reception regardless of location. An added advantage is the elimination of any unsightly, annoying or unsafe wiring in the cockpit.

The driver can use his or her choice of the COMAND interface knob, voice recognition, or the multi-function steering wheel to intuitively control the navigation system. THE UNIQUE CONNECTIVITY OF THE BECKER MAP PILOT ensures perfect networking. This next- generation navigation system can be perfectly integrated with the on-board electronics of Mercedes-Benz models. At the same time, its USB interface enables easy, comfor-table updates from a PC or laptop.

FLEXIBILITY ACHIEVES A NEW DIMENSION WITH THE BECKER MAP PILOT. NAVTEQ maps, seasonal information, travel guides and personalized information regarding points of interest or hotels may be easily and conveniently downloaded from the Becker MAP PILOT Web Shop. In this way, the Becker MAP PILOT

may be tailored to the user’s individual requirements. Updates can be installed on short notice, just before a trip, for example. Moreover, thanks to its ergonomic user interface, convoluted menus and operating structures are a thing of the past.

Finding an appropriate restau-rant or the nearest shopping mall becomes child’s play. In addition, the system keeps track of route preferences, addi-tional information and the current traffic situation. THE BECKER MAP PILOT WILL UNDERGO CONTINUOUS DEVELOPMENT and adapt to drivers’ ever-increasing demands.

BEST-POSSIBLE TMC RECEPTION FOR REAL-TIME ROUTE GUIDANCE. As soon as the Becker MAP PILOT is inserted into its snug-fitting receptacle, the installed re-ceiver takes note of the current traffic situation. The latest

traffic congestion reports and other relevant information is automatically relayed by the Traffic Message Channel (TMC) or NAVTEQ Traffic to the Becker MAP PILOT’s

route planner. Route guidance continuously adapts to the current traffic situation, to direct the driver to his or her destination safely and quickly.
