SANCTUARY LAMPS AND ALTAR FLOWER MEMORIALS: If you would like to me-morialize the Sanctuary candle in the Church, the Adoration Chapel or the Altar flowers, please contact the parish office with your request. The suggested offering for the Sanctuary candles are $ 25 each and the Altar Flowers are $100 for both.

R.C.I.A. (Rite of Christian Initiation) is the process by which adults become members of the Catholic Church. Classes are held on Thursdays from 7– 8:30 pm from September to Easter. Please call the Parish office at 570.374.4113 for additional information.

PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY: makes shawls and lap covers for the sick of our parish and our community and for anyone with a special need. They meet in the Parish conference room on the 3rd Thursday of each month from 6-8 pm. To request a shawl, contact Kathy at 570.374.9883 or kathydal@ptd.net.

ST. PIUS X PASTORAL COUNCIL: Council members meet the second Wednesday of each month at 7 pm in the lower level (except July and December). Pastoral Council meeting minutes are available in the parish office for review.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS: The 4th degree, St. Kathar ine Drexel Assembly meets the first Tuesday of each month at 7 pm in the lower level. The regular meeting of the Knights of Columbus is held the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 pm in the lower level.

BISHOP GAINER’S LISTENING SESSIONS Bishop Gainer invites all members of St. Pius X Church to attend a Listening Session on Wednesday, February, 20, 2019 Immaculate Conception in Berwick at 6:30 pm or Thursday, February 21, 2019, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, Elysburg at 6:30 pm. During these sessions, Bishop Gainer will address concerns re-garding the Grand Jury Report, the Diocese’s response to abuse, our path forward, and any other questions or concern from parishioners. If you are unable to attend this or any other Listening Session, but would still like to ask Bishop Gainer a question, please email your question to AskBishopGainer@hbgdiocese.org.

BUS TRIP NATIONAL MARCH FOR LIFE –SEATS STILL AVAILABLE The Knights of Columbus will be sponsoring a bus on Friday, January 18, 2019 to go to Washington DC for the National March for Life. Seats will be $20 for adults and $10 for youth under 18. (Youth under 18 must be accompanied by an adult). This is to be paid in advance and is non-refundable. The bus leaves St. Pius X Catholic Church at 6 am. To purchase seats for this event, you can contact Tim Minori at (570)259-8478 or Ron Butkera at 570-743-8241and give your contact information. Note: It is our desire that no one be prevent-ed from attending the March for Life because they do not have the money for the seat. ST. MONICA CHURCH CHOOSE YOUR ADVENTURE RAFFLE Saint Monica Church is currently holding a "Choose Your Adventure" Raffle. The winner will receive limou-sine service for a day trip (up to 12 hours) for 8 people to one of three locations (New York City, Atlantic City, or Seneca Lake Wineries) chosen by the winner AND $500.00 spending money for the day. The winner will have up to one year to claim this prize and make arrangements with Susquehanna Valley Limousine Service for the trip. RESPECT LIFE MASS The annual diocesan Respect Life Mass will take place on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at 9:30 am at Good Shep-herd Church in Camp Hill. This Mass is celebrated every year to commemorate the lives lost to abortion since 1973 and to pray for the building up of a culture of life in our nation from conception to natural death. Rever-end Stephen Kelley, chaplain to our diocese’s Rachel’s Vineyard post-abortion ministry, will be the celebrant and homilist. Both he and Tom O’Neill will greet Respect Life leaders and volunteers from around the diocese in the narthex after the Mass. All are welcome!

REGISTRATION FOR FULFILLED (PART 2) CONTINUES!!! Come, join your fellow parishioners in learning how Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament prophesies concerning the coming of the Messiah. This fantastic series is being offered both on Monday evenings at 7 pm (beginning March 4th) and on Wednesday mornings at 9:30 am (beginning March 6th) in the church confer-ence room. Each of the series 7 sessions will be an hour beginning with a 30 min DVD presentation followed by a workbook-guided 30 minute discussion. NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER FOR THE AFRICAN AMERICAN AND AFRICAN FAMILIES On February 3, 2019 is National Day of Prayer for the African American and African Family. On this special day, join us for a Holy Mass celebrating African & African American Catholic Faith and Culture. The Most Reverend Ronald W. Gainer will be the principal celebrant. Our guest, Most Reverend Roy E. Campbell, Jr. from the Archdiocese of Washington, will be the homilist. Liturgical music will be offered by the dynamic Saint Joseph Gospel Choir from Largo, Maryland.
