- Traditional sources of energy are becoming scarce -

ES-SO suggests reducing energy consumption by using energy in a more intelligent way.

Modern architects go search of light and design ever larger glass areas into their buildings. These represent a big challenge as far as the requirements for thermal insulation of these buildings is concerned.

The Role of the Awning According to the ES-SO

- Energy Pass -

Since 1st of November 2007 new buildings must be assigned an energy efficiency label. The user is informed about the measures available to save energy and the level of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.

- In Germany a “pass” or energy certificate must be produced upon rent or sale of a property from 1st of January 2008.

- The Future of the Energy Pass -

- Just as automobile manufacturers have to indicate the vehicle consumption in km/l or m.p.g. so the demand for primary energy in kW/h per m² will have to be made transparent for buildings.

With a markilux awning it is possible to achieve a 95% reduction in solar thermal energy radiation.

Without protection 100% of solar thermal energy radiation will enter the building if normal glass is used and approximately 60% if normal double glazing is used.
