2020 Investment Drive is officially underway!
It is called an Investment Drive because there is a "return" on the
monetary contribution: a transformed community!
Please prayerfully consider what amount you can personally invest in
this justice work. The Investment Drive is important. We want to
sustain this work for the long haul - and we do not receive (or solicit)
government funds.
Our All Saints Parish goal this year is $22,000.
We have donated $5,100 toward this goal!
Working together, let us surpass our goal like last year!
CAJE is excited and hopeful as we forge ahead with this year's goals:
Corporate Drive: 30 appointments/ $40,000
Congregational Goal: $75,000
In 2019, nearly 300 individuals from 20 congregations invested nearly
$68,000! Because you invest your time, talent, and treasure, we can
offer valuable training to clergy and leaders at NO COST.
If you would like to invest in this system-changing work, please mail
your check (with your congregation's name in the memo) to:
CAJE
PO Box 18172
Evansville IN 47719
We will soon have the option to invest through PayPal!
We have a NEW date for our 2020 Celebration!
Please mark your calendars.
St. Wendel Catholic Church has graciously offered to host the Justice
Ministry Celebration on Tuesday, August 4, 6:30 pm.
Details are forthcoming.
Hearts & Hands in Ministry
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul
During the COVID-19 crisis, our programs
are working hard to reach out and continue services to
the poor and homeless. Please remember to support
the Society of St. Vincent de Paul so that together we
can bring comfort and peace to our brothers and
sisters who are poor and suffering. Justice Challenge ~ 7th Week of Easter
The Feast of the Visitation reminds us of how Mary,
knowing she was pregnant with the Son of God, still
went to her cousin Elizabeth to help her. It would have
been so easy for Mary to become smug and expect
others to wait on her rather than helping her older
pregnant cousin. But she maintained her humility, and
told Elizabeth that her life was a reflection of God and
God’s greatness. Your challenge this week is to
examine how willing you are to serve others as Mary
did, especially when you feel the need for recognition.
Pray humbly with Mary each day this week by
including the Magnificat (Luke 1:46-55) in your
evening prayers.

Questions of the Week
SCRIPTURE
First Reading
The story of the Church as recorded in the Acts
of the Apostles begins with Jesus’ final instructions
and the Apostles’ witness of his ascension into
heaven. What role does the ascension of Jesus play in
your understanding of “Church?”
Second Reading
Paul speaks of the unity of the church using the
metaphor of the “body” of Christ. Where do you see
the Church most united today?
Gospel Reading
Prior to his ascension, Jesus’ promise to the disciples
was his abiding presence “until the end of the age.”
When do you experience Jesus most present to you?
Lawn Mowers
Mowing season is in full swing again.
And again, we want to pour out our gratitude to
our lawn mowers for taking up the task for this year.
For many of us, one yard is too many,
much less taking on the church property also.
We thank our mowers for their
goodness and generosity.
Mask Sewing
Anchor Industries Needs Volunteers
If you have a sewing machine and some time and are
interested in helping your neighbor…
Anchor Industries needs you!
Anchor Industries has mask kits that contain the fabric,
elastic and directions for sewing masks. Kits are picked
up at Anchor Industries and completed masks are
returned to Anchor Industries. They also have a limited
supply of thread. No specific thread is required.
If you are interested in helping, please contact the
Parish Office.
Judy Wittgen is keeping a list of our volunteers for
Anchor Industries. She will need your name, phone
number and email address.
Then head on out to Anchor Industries,
7701 Highway 41 N
Evansville, IN 47725
At Anchor Industries, Go to the receptionist - look for
the “Main Office” sign on the west side of the plant
which is on the SE corner of Highway 41 & Highway 57.
Thank you to everyone who can help!!
Thank You, Canton Inn A special thank you to Canton Inn for

This weekend we THANK our SPRED catechists!
These individuals share God’s love with their SPRED
friend. They develop a personal relationship with them
and journey with them through their life. SPRED is an
opportunity for adults with disabilities to meet twice a
month to share social time and learn more about
God’s love.

The Solemnity of Pentecost
Next weekend, May 30-31, we celebrate the Solemnity
of Pentecost. We remember the story of Jesus
promising an Advocate, the Holy Spirit, and what life
was like when the Spirit moved among the disciples.
Acts 2:1-11 and John 20:19-23
Sequence
Veni, Sancte Spiritus
Come, Holy Spirit, come!
And from your celestial home
Shed a ray of light divine!
Come, Father of the poor!
Come, source of all our store!
Come, within our bosoms shine.
You, of comforters the best;
You, the soul’s most welcome guest;
Sweet refreshment here below;
In our labor, rest most sweet;
Grateful coolness in the heat;
Solace in the midst of woe.
O most blessed Light divine,
Shine within these hearts of yours,
And our inmost being fill!
Where you are not, we have naught,
Nothing good in deed or thought,
Nothing free from taint of ill.
Heal our wounds, our strength renew;
On our dryness pour your dew;
Wash the stains of guilt away:
Bend the stubborn heart and will;
Melt the frozen, warm the chill;
Guide the steps that go astray.
On the faithful, who adore
And confess you, evermore
In your sevenfold gift descend;
Give them virtue’s sure reward;
Give them your salvation, Lord;
Give them joys that never end. Amen.
Alleluia.
Consider spending some quiet time in prayer listening
to one of these…

Just wondering….during this pandemic…
anticipating our celebration of Pentecost…
How have we seen the Holy Spirit moving in our lives?
Have we been made aware of God in any new ways?
Have we had time to grow our relationship with God?
How have we spread the Good News of Christ?
How has this time of pandemic grown us in our faith?
RCIA Inquiry
Is something tugging within you?
Are you searching for something deeper: peace,
hope, God’s love, Christ?
Are you wanting to explore the Catholic Faith?
Or do you know someone not baptized or a non-
Catholic Christian searching for something more?
We are here to welcome you and walk with you in
this search and answer questions “No strings” inquiry.

We Care Fund Applications
We are happy to report that our
“We Care” appeal has raised $12,609.05.
This is tremendous, and we thank all who
generously gave to this effort.
We now would like to begin the process of disbursing
it. Undoubtedly, there is a lot of need out there right
now, and so we have to prioritize who we can help.
Our first thought was to assist members of our parish
in need. If you or someone you know needs help, you
can fill out a digital application on All Saints website.
Click on the All Saints tab and choose forms. You may
also fill out the application from our Parish App.
Click on the Coping with COVID-19 button and select
“We Care Application.”
Visit All Saints Facebook Page for
daily news. Make sure you like and
follow our page to get all the latest updates. Make
sure you use the dropdown menu next to “like” and
“follow” and choose “see first.” This way, you’ll get our
notices at the top of your news feed.
The Health Ministry Team would like to invite you
to participate in a Virtual Walking Challenge. This
walking challenge will allow us to increase our
physical activity and feel healthier during this time
of social distancing. You can participate as a team
or as an individual.
The walking challenge is scheduled for Monday,
June 8 to Sunday, July 5, 2020. Please contact the
parish office at (812) 423-5209 if you are interested
in participating in the Virtual Walking Challenge.
More information will come as we prepare for the
Virtual Walking Challenge.
All Saints Women’s Group
Our women’s group connected with a
Zoom meeting on May 18th. We opened
our meeting with prayer and shared ideas on ways
to support our parish community. Some of our ideas
were a Prayer Parade, Meal Train, and delivering small
pots of flowers with a card to our homebound
parishioners. We closed the meeting with prayer
intentions for our friends, family, neighbors, and
loved ones.
Prayer Requests
Please forward your prayer requests to
Judy Wittgen ([email protected]) or
Machalle Walker ([email protected])
at the Parish Office (812) 423-5209.
The Power of Prayer will bring us closer together!
Will you make a Recurring Donation
to All Saints Parish?
Never miss a Saturday or Sunday to drop
your gift in the collection basket or…
Go to our app or website and enter your amount,
then choose a fund, then select make this gift
recurring. You can choose daily, weekly, monthly
etc, and then choose what day you want to make
your donation.
Consistent weekly or monthly
giving ensures that the work
of All Saints Parish is never far from
our minds and allows our parish to continuously
support our church community with programs and
outreach. Please consider giving to more than one
fund!
