The Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) of the IQAC
All NAAC accredited institutions will submit an annual self-reviewed progress report to NAAC,
through its IQAC. The report is to detail the tangible results achieved in key areas, specifically
identified by the institutional IQAC at the beginning of the academic year. The AQAR will detail the
results of the perspective plan worked out by the IQAC. (Note: The AQAR period would be the

2.14 Significant Activities and contributions made by IQAC
To keep pace with the e-technology the college on the recommendation of IQAC
has automated the library through the KOHA software for the convenience of the
faculty and the students.
During the year three National Seminars have been organized by the PG
department of Punjabi, PG department of Commerce and PG department of
Hindi.
Vanmahotsav was celebrated by the N.S.S unit of the college.
Seven days special N.S.S camp was organized in the college campus at Indira
Colony from December 22, 2015 to December 28, 2015.
A Blood Donation camp was organized in the college campus on March 21, 2016
jointly by N.C.C & N.S.S units.
At the call of Hon‟ble Prime Minister N.C.C cadets of the college led a rally
regarding „Swachh Bharat Abhiyan‟ in collaboration with 5 Punjab BN N.C.C
Moga.
Red Cross Unit of the college visited old age home at Chand Purana near Moga.
Career Guidance and Counselling cell of the college organized Extension Lecture
on the topic „Careers open after completing undergraduate courses‟.
Deptt. Of Commerce organized an Extension Lecture on February 29, 2016 on
the topic „Careers and Jobs Open for Commerce Graduates‟.

Plan of Action Achievements
1. Digitalisation of
Library
To keep pace with the e-technology the college on the recommendations
of IQAC has automated the library through the KOHA software for the
convenience of the faculty and the students. In addition to this, the e-
resources from N-List programme of INFLIBNET centre have been
subscribed to provide on-line access to 6000 e-journals and 1,35,000 e-
books.
2. To organize
seminars
In order to acquaint the students and teachers about the new
attainments, possibilities and opportunities in Higher Education,
seminars are organized from time to time.
On January 30, 2016 Dept. of Punjabi organized CDC
sponsored one day National Seminar on the topic „Punjabi
Bhasha, Sabhayachar Ate Media-Antar Sanwad‟.
On March 28, 2016 Dept. of Commerce organized One day
National Seminar on 'Values and Ethics in Education‟.
Dept. of Hindi organized one day national seminar on „Mahila
Rachnakaro Ki Moolay Chetna‟ on March 30, 2016.
3. To take new
initiatives in social
responsibilities
To teach our students to feel for and reach out to others,
especially the needy, camps are organized by N.S.S, N.C.C and
Red Cross units. The students regularly interact and work with
local community on various projects.
To motivate the students to plant more trees, Vanmahotsav was
celebrated by the N.S.S unit of the college.
Seven days special N.S.S camp was organized in the college
campus at Indira Colony from December 22, 2015 to December
28, 2015. Fifty Seven volunteers attended the camp.
A Blood Donation camp was organized in the college campus
on March 21, 2016 jointly by N.C.C & N.S.S units.
At the call of Hon‟ble Prime Minister N.C.C cadets of the

Dept. of History with the assistance of Red Cross Unit of the

students distributed fruits among these senior citizens and
shared emotional thoughts with them.

Yes the syllabi have been revised due to change in pattern of programme. Under the annual
system, there were two papers (A+B) of 100 marks each held in April only. Under the
semester system, there are two papers of 100 marks each, one in first semester (December)
and second in second semesters (May).

1. On the suggestion of alumni, National Seminars have been organized by the different
departments of the college.
2. On the suggestion of alumni, Blood Donation Camp was organized in the college on
March 21, 2016.
3. Some of the alumni suggested that International Women Day should be celebrated

To mark the beginning of new session 2015-16 „Hawan Yagya‟ was performed in the college
campus on 21 July, 2015.
„International Yoga Diwas‟ was celebrated in college campus on 21 June, 2015. Yoga expert
Sh. Harvinder Pal Singh acquainted the students with different „Yoga Aasans‟.
Dept. of Political Science and Dept. of History celebrated „Independence Day‟ with great
devotion and feeling of patriotism.
On September16, 2015 Deptt. Of Computer Science organized „Alma Fiesta‟ to celebrate
„Engineer Day‟.
On 17 September, 2015 „National Sports Day‟ was celebrated under the guidance of Mrs.

A Seminar on „Financial Literacy‟ was organized by Deptt of commerce on March12, 2016.
NSS :
Seven days special N.S.S camp was organized in the college campus at Indira colony from December
22, 2015 to December 28, 2015. Fifty Seven volunteers attended the camp. The theme of the camp
was „Health, Public Sanitation and Personal Hygiene‟. Dr. (Mrs.) Neena Garga (Principal)
inaugurated the camp. Dr. Palvinder Kaur and Dr. Baljeet Kaur Programme officers N.S.S acquainted
the students with the projects to be undertaken during the camp. The following activities were carried
out during the camp.

The volunteers were referred for further treatment of teeth and eyes. „Sahibjadia Da Shahidi Hafta‟
was observed during the camp. Students were acquainted with the sacrifices made by them. Christmas
was celebrated with devotion and joy. Volunteers baked cake and paid visit to church. Besides this
Group Discussion, Cultural Programme and Debate were the activities carried out daily. The
valedictory function was presided over by Mr. S.K. Bansal (N.G.O). Madam Principal was the Guest
of Honour. In his Presidential Address the Chief Guest advised the students to work for society and
congratulated the organizers Dr. Palvinder Kaur and Dr. Baljeet Kaur.
A Blood Donation camp was organized in the college campus on March21, 2016. The camp was
organized by Lt. Mrs. Ramanpreet (N.C.C), Dr. Palvinder Kaur and Dr. Baljeet Kaur (NSS) Mrs.
Shaveta (Red Cross Unit) in collaboration with Civil Hospital, Moga. Dr. Jagbir Singh, Civil Surgeon
Moga inaugurated the camp. Students donated blood with great enthusiasm. 10 units of blood were
collected. Sh. Kuldeep Singh (N.G.O) donated blood for the 46th time in this camp. Madam Principal
thanked the Civil Surgeon and his team.

Cadet Rajinder Kaur B.A III participated in Pre- TSC (Thal Sena Camp) at Ropar from June 2015 to
September 2015.
Under officer Upinderjit Kaur participated in Inter Group firing competition from June 2015 to July
2015 at Malout.
At the call of Hon‟ble Prime Minister N.C.C cadets of the college led a rally regarding „Swachh
Bharat Abhiyan‟ in collaboration with 5 Punjab BN N.C.C Moga. The students initiated cleanliness
compaign along with Harvaldar Jagdish and Rajesh Kumar. Members of the teaching and non
teaching faculty were present. Dr. Seema Bhatia was the incharge of the event.
Lt. Ramanpreet Kaur is the ANO‟S of N.C.C N.C.C unit and N.S.S unit of the college organized an
Extension Lecture on „Causes of Heart Disease and Cure‟. Dr. Puneet Gill in his lecture conveyed that
heart disease has become a life style disease. Sedentary life style is one of the main reasons. He
advised the audience to take adequate physical exercise, remain mentally calm and take balanced diet.

Red Cross Unit
On November 23, 2015 Flag Day was celebrated by Red Cross Unit of the College. Rs. 3395/. Were
collected and sent to Red Cross Society.
Visit to Old Age Home
Deptt. of History with the assistance of Red Cross Unit of the college visited old age home at Chand
Purana near Moga. The students distributed fruits among these senior citizens and shared emotional
thoughts with them. Mrs. Shaveta and Dr. Sarita accompanied the students.
Red Cross Unit of the college arranged an Extension lecture on AIDS and Cancer in collaboration
with „Caring Soul Foundation‟ Sh. Prashant Dubey, the Resource Person threw light on the causes
and precautions to be taken regarding these fatal diseases. Madam Shaveta welcomed the Chief Guest.
Madam Principal while thanking the Resource Person advised the students to remain vigilant
regarding these diseases. Dr. Baljeet Kaur (Deptt. of History) and Mrs. Shaveta are the incharge of
Red Cross Unit in the college.

Note: The college library had started functioning from the time establishment of the college in the
year 1969. Thus it has accumulated many rare old books whose valuation is not available.

and NET examination they become eligible for lectureship. Very few students are left who aspire to enter the
corporate world. Such students are sent to job fests organized by other colleges of repute. The college does
not have any mechanism to track the students after completion of their degrees. Still, we try our best to track
their profession telephonically.

the University board of members. The college is not empowered to formulate its own curriculum.

teachers of neighbouring colleges who are the members of board of studies. The member participate in
the board of studies meetings and suggestions of other faculty members regarding curriculum

The quality strategies pertaining to human resource management have been empowering
faculty through delegation of authority and provide sufficient operational autonomy for
creating a congenial organizational environment.
The faculty undergoes various training and development programmes/seminars

and non-teaching staff.

In order to provide old student of the college a platform to exchange their views and to contribute their
valuable suggestions for the development of the college, meetings of the alumni association of the college
are held once in a year. Donation from internal alumni is received at the end of the every year, which is
distributed among the deserving and poor students. During this year Rs 58999 out of alumni funds has been
given to 12 students
As Parents and Teachers are equally responsible for the welfare and development of the child .the parents

7.2 Provide the Action Taken Report (ATR) based on the plan of action decided upon at the

To keep pace with the e-technology the college on the recommendation of IQAC has
automated the library through the KOHA software for the convenience of the faculty
and the students.
During the year three National Seminars have been organized by the PG department of
Punjabi, PG department of Commerce and PG department of Hindi.
Vanmahotsav was celebrated by the N.S.S unit of the college.
Seven days special N.S.S camp was organized in the college campus at Indira Colony
from December 22, 2015 to December 28, 2015.
A Blood Donation camp was organized in the college campus on March 21, 2016
jointly by N.C.C & N.S.S units.
At the call of Hon‟ble Prime Minister N.C.C cadets of the college led a rally regarding
„Swachh Bharat Abhiyan‟ in collaboration with 5 Punjab BN N.C.C Moga.
Red Cross Unit of the college visited old age home at Chand Purana near Moga.
Career Guidance and Counselling cell of the college organized Extension Lecture on
the topic „Careers open after completing undergraduate courses‟.
Deptt. Of Commerce organized an Extension Lecture on February 29, 2016 on the topic
„Careers and Jobs Open for Commerce Graduates‟.
On 31 August, 2015, workshop on „Linux Administration and Training, Recruitment in
HCL‟ was organized in the Deptt. Of computer science by Solitaire Infosys Private
LTD. Mohali.
Dept. of Commerce in collaboration with „Career Power Ludhiana‟ organized one day
Orientation-Cum-Seminar in the college.
Deptt. of Computer Science organized One Day Seminar on „Preparation for
UGC(NET) and GATE examination.
Panjab University, Chandigarh organized „Inter-college Chess Competition‟ from
September 1st and 2
nd, 2016 at Guru Gobind Singh College Chandigarh. Five students of
our college participated.
Intra-college Chess Competition was held on February 11, 2016.
Deptt. of Physical Education organized „Intra-college Badminton Tournament‟ on
February 26, 2016.
On February 20, 2016 Dr. Palvinder Kaur Asstt. Prof. Punjabi organized an Extension
Lecture in collaboration with Career Explorer Private Ltd. Amritsar Road, Moga on the
topic „Personality Development and Career Guidance‟.
On 31 January, 2016 Punjab Community Health Services, Punjab organized „Self-
Awareness Camp‟.
On February 2, 2016 a seminar on the „Development of Effective Personality‟ was
organized by the Deptt. of English.
Panjab Community Health Services(N.G.O) organized 7th Annual Personality and Self
Awareness Camp at Guru Nanak College, Moga. Four students of B.A III year namely
Ms. Tanu, Ms Sonia, Ms Amarjit and Ms Manpreet Kaur attended the camp.

Title: National & State Level seminars have been organized.
Goal: In pursuance of the mission of the college to impact Quality Education, the college continually
seeks to enhance the teaching proficiency of faculty by widening their knowledge base, bringing
effectiveness in their teaching methodologies and promoting research inquisitiveness among them.
Context: Competent, inspired and well-informed teachers form the backbone of any educational
institution. They have the power to bring qualitative changes in their students‟ lives by continuously
encouraging them to achieve excellence in academics. They are the principal drivers of change in every
sphere of the institution be it administrative, academic or research. The reputation of an educational
institution depends on its teachers. Therefore quality enhancement and professional development of the
teachers become indispensible for any institution striving for excellence in education.
Practice: The College is always engaged in updating and consolidating its teaching and learning
programmes. In order to acquaint the students and teachers about the new attainments, possibilities and
opportunities in higher education, seminars related to them are organized from time to time. The aim is
to be truly global and contemporary in our outlook while staying deeply rooted in the local culture and
tradition.
Evidence of Success:
On January 30, 2016 Dept. of Punjabi organized CDC sponsored one day National Seminar on the
topic „Punjabi Bhasha, Sabhayachar Ate Media-Antar Sanwad‟. In their lecture the resource Persons
underlined the importance of media in strengthing Punjabi Bhasha. The Research Papers were also
presented in the seminar. Principals and delegates from the nearby colleges graced the occasion.
On March 28, 2016 Deptt. Of commerce organized One day National Seminar on „Value and Ethics
in Education‟. The main object of the seminar was to inculcate Values and Ethics in education.
Research Scholars, Teachers and Students from various colleges presented papers.
Deptt. Of Hindi organized one day national seminar on “Mahilla Rachakaron Ki Moolay Chetna” on
March 30, 2016. Teachers and students from various colleges read/ presented papers in the seminar.
The main aim of the seminar was to aware the women of their rights and their changing position in
society. More than 70 papers were presented/ received.
Resources Required: Travelling Expenses, Honorarium. Refreshment expenses etc. are borne by the
Management.

Title: Arousing Social conscience through N.S.S, Red Cross & N.C.C.
Goal: The college aims at producing socially responsible citizens as envisaged in the vision of the
college. The college works on the philosophy of Integral education which means developing well
rounded balanced personalities. Students‟ involvement in various social activities not only serves
society but helps in their overall development. Youngsters have potential, capability, vitality and
energy. The college wants to channelize their energy towards the service of the nation.
Context: Curriculum taught in the classrooms gets extended by way of Extension & outreach activities,
which aim at instilling discipline, imbibing the sense of social service, building character and helping
them to transform their personality. Students are rightly the pillars to support the foundation of a strong
nation. As such the college sincerely endeavours to arouse social conscience among them through
N.S.S, N.C.C & Red Cross.
Practice: Special efforts are made to sensitize the students to global issues, environment, ecologies,
ecosystem, economics and problems prevalent in different parts of the country, so that they become
responsible citizens and help save the planet for future generation. To teach our students to feel for and
reach out to others, especially the needy, camps are organized by N.S.S, N.C.C and Red Cross units.
The students regularly interact and work with local community on various projects.
Evidence of Success:
To motivate the students to plant more trees, Vanmahotsav was celebrated by the N.S.S unit of the
college.
Seven days special N.S.S camp was organized in the college campus at Indira Colony from
December 22, 2015 to December 28, 2015. Fifty Seven volunteers attended the camp. The theme of
the camp was „Health, Public Sanitation and Personal Hygiene‟,

Cadet Rajinder Kaur B.A III participated in Pre-TSC(Thal Sena Camp) at Ropar from June 2015 to
September 2015. Under-officer Upinderjit Kaur participated in Inter-Group firing competition from
June 2015 to July 2015 at Malout. At the call of honorable Prime Minister, N.C.C cadets of the
college led a rally regarding ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ in collaboration with 5 Punjab BN N.C.C
Moga.
On November 23, 2015 Flag Day was celebrated by Red Cross Unit of the college. Rs. 3395/- were
collected and sent to Red Cross Society.
Red Cross Unit of the college visited old age home at Chand Purana near Moga. The students
distributed fruits among these senior citizens and shared emotional thoughts with them.
As per instructions received from Prime Minister of India „International Yoga Diwas‟ was
celebrated in college campus on 21 June, 2015 by the N.C.C & N.S.S units.
