They may be out of sight, but certainly not out of mind! Let's continue to stay in touch with them as a church family with our College Card Ministry! You'll find the packs on the front pew. Please take a pack and sign up so we'll know who has which college student (just in case their address changes during the year). Consider choosing a student who shares the same alma mater, major/career, or simply because you care! Getting "real" mail is always a treat. Thank you for your support! Again today, we are excited to recognize our 4 year olds as they join us in worship for the very first time. Please welcome Emory Evans, Mollie Hale and Jackson Phillips. This is a milestone in their spiritual journey as they experience worship with the entire congregation. Today, they will be attending Children’s Church. There have been several inquires about starting a beginners American Sign Language Class here at the church. At this time we are seeing how many people would be interested, then we will decide on a day/evening and time. If you are interested in being a part of a new ministry outreach or just would like to be able to communicate with the deaf, please contact me and let me know so that we may know if there is any interest. We will be having a class for the ones who asked either way. Thanks, Tammy Gendreau, [email protected]. On Sunday, September 29th at 5:00pm, we will show the movie Beyond The Gates of Splendor. It is the true story of five American missionaries who were killed in January 1956 by the Auca Indians in Ecuador. Jim Elliot, Nate Saint, Ed McCully, Pete Fleming and Roger Youderian gave their lives to bring the gospel to an isolated and unreached tribe in the remotest parts of Ecuador. Following the death of these men, some of their family members were led to continue the work in Ecuador my moving to that part of the world and living among the tribe that had killed their loved ones. This movie is a celebration of grace and the Gospel overcoming all obsta- cles. We’ll gather in the Fellowship Hall to watch this movie. Make plans to join us for snack and an inspiring true story form the history of missions! BENEDICTION Dear Lord, You spoke to storms. Would you speak to ours? You calmed the hearts of the apostles. Would you calm the chaos within us? You told them to fear not. Say the same to us. We are weary from our worry, battered and belittled by the gales of life. Oh, Prince of Peace, be- queath us a spirit of calm. As we turn the hours of the day, will you turn a new leaf in our lives? Quench anxiety. Stir courage. Let us know less fret and more faith. In Jesus’ name….
