The imposing, aggressively-sculpted NX body is designed to stand out

from the crowd, but always with style in mind. Strong lines and prominent

flares unite the diamond-shaped body, starting at the spindle grille, while

the presence of the tyres has been emphasised to show off its powerful

stance. The bottom edge of the door panels kick up to pass through

the peak of the rear combination lamps, creating unique proportions

with a three-dimensional and dynamic feel.

With newly added features to all models such as a panoramic view

monitor*, rain-sensing front window wipers, and dynamic* headlamp

levelling, the NX’s good looks serve a practical purpose too.

Edgy F SPORT detailing is featured on the front grille, rear bumper, 18”

alloys, and badging of the NX 300 F SPORT model, while roof rails

now come standard on the EX models.

The F SPORT features the same compact headlight unit as the LC 500,

adopting a triangular configuration to align with the vehicle’s sporty

design. The triple projector lamps incorporate an Adaptive High-beam

System (AHS), which automatically optimises the headlamp light

distribution so that the high beams do not directly illuminate preceding

or oncoming vehicles.

Dynamic tail lamp design seamlessly integrates body lines

at the back of the NX with signature L-shaped illumination.

Even entry into the NX exudes style – the door handles themselves

are accented by puddle lamps and an illuminated line that

emphasises the silhouette of the upper section.

The key is inserted in a gap between the handle and door panel,

creating an almost keyhole-less design (a first of its kind), followed

by a graceful illumination fade-out.

AUDIO

The NX features either an 8- or 10-speaker audio system fitted as standard. The audio system has two USB ports for portable media players. The AUX port is able to play video files through the multimedia display screen.

DRIVE MODE SELECT

Located on the centre console next to the gearshift, Drive Mode Select allows drivers to choose between ECO, NORMAL, and SPORT Modes. The 300H model offers an additional eco-friendly EV Mode, and for maximum dynamism, the NX 300 F SPORT model has an option for SPORT S+ and Custom Mode. The newly added Custom Mode* enables the user to freely combine the modes of the powertrain, chassis, and air conditioning functions to suit the driver’s preferences.

ADVANCED VOICE RECOGNITION

Voice command recognition in the NX has been greatly improved, thanks to the new dual microphone system, Standard Voice Box® and Nuance® voice-recognition technology that employ integrated on-board/off-board voice recognition, allowing the driver’s hands to remain firmly on the steering wheel

MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY

The well-crafted interior of the NX offers a multitude of ways to monitor your drive. The newly designed combination meters display temperature, speed and fuel, has a tachometer, and is framed by striking silver-painted rings. Between it lies the Multi-Information Display – a 4.2-inch Thin Film Transistor (TFT) LCD panel that displays key driving information in vivid colour.

MULTIMEDIA SCREEN

The standard 8- or 10.3-inch VGA touchscreen displays audio, navigation, and multimedia content. In an elevated location, to minimise changes in the driver’s line of sight, the VGA display is operated by the effortless touch functionality, or the Remote Touch Interface*. EX and F SPORT models now incorporate an Electro Multi Navigation (EMVN) System using the Navibridge application.

REMOTE TOUCH INTERFACE*

This touch-sensitive, next-generation Remote Touch Interface seamlessly fits in the advanced NX cockpit, to give you instant access to in-car information including climate, navigation and audio. The Remote Touch Interface aims for a smooth and smart-feeling operation by providing a spacious touch surface with focus given to providing a pleasing texture and haptic feedback.

The NX embraces the philosophy of Takumi master craftsmanship, applying the subtlety of the human touch to every aspect of Lexus design and development, and focussing on intricate attention to the very last detail.

With satin-covered interior door handles, faux leather door trimmings, and a three-spoke leather steering wheel with perfectly-positioned steering switches for telephone, audio and cruise control, handling is luxurious throughout.

Driver and front passenger electrical seat adjustments, and front and rear adjustable headrests ensure comfort for all passengers while the electrochromatic** rear-view mirror, panoramic view monitor*, and reverse camera make 360-degree visibility a reality no matter the terrain.

The Lexus Hybrid Drive system works in concert with the

Electronically Controlled CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission)

to environmentally upgrade your drive with high fuel efficiency,

clean emissions, and surprisingly hushed quietness. All this without

compromising on the driving experience. The 2.5-litre 4-cylinder

engine operates on the Atkinson Cycle and has highly-efficient intake

and exhaust systems to deliver optimal output performance.

S TO P S TA R T

Stop/start technology and exhaust heat recycling help reduce fuel

consumption and emissions. The wider range of inlet timing variation

in the VVT-i system means that the new NX engine can switch

instantly from the Otto Cycle to the high-expansion ratio, high-efficiency

Atkinson Cycle, according to vehicle operating conditions.

With its newly developed 2.0-litre 4-cylinder direct injection

turbo-charged engine, not surprisingly, the NX 300 exhilarates as

much as it accelerates. Operating on the Atkinson Cycle, excellent

fuel efficiency and driving performance are achieved simultaneously,

while exhaust gas interference has been eliminated to improve

response over a wider torque band.

The NX 300 has a new sequential-shift six-speed automatic

transmission paired with a sophisticated electronically controlled

proactive all-wheel* drive system. Sequential shifting can be initiated

via the gear lever or paddle shifter on the steering wheel.

The NX 300 F SPORT model magnifies performance and style from

the tyres up. From the unique grille, rear bumper and 18” alloys on the

outside, to the reflective metallic-finish trim on the pedals and scuff

plate, and perforated leather steering wheel and shift knob on the inside;

the NX 300 F SPORT grabs your attention and doesn’t let go. The

exquisite sports seats, which hold you firmly in place, were designed with

performance conditions in mind.

The NX 300 F SPORT also features a Panoramic View Monitor, and

Blind Spot Monitor that displays on the side mirrors, for added safety. For

active safety, the Rear Cross Traffic Alert function uses quasi millimeter-

wave radar to detect vehicles approaching the difficult-to-see area behind

the vehicle. The F SPORT look is completed by a sleek panoramic roof

and distinct badging.

Turbo-charged performance plus exclusive NX 300 F SPORT features

including a tuned suspension, bold front fascia with exclusive mesh

grille, black exterior mirrors, G-force, and turbo-boost meter that

measures the turbo-charger pressure.

The number of damping force AVS control levels has increased from 30 levels to

continuously variable control (650 levels), realising smooth and precise control to suit

different conditions. The operation of the AVS system depends on the Drive Mode Select

setting, with a higher level of control for dynamic handling performance in SPORT S+ Mode.

Hill-start Assist Control maintains brake pressure to help prevent the NX from moving

backwards when starting off on a slope. Hill-start Assist Control also minimises wheel-

spin on slippery inclines.

Vehicle Stability Control helps prevent the loss of vehicle control, particularly when

cornering quickly or at the onset of a skid. Stability is improved and vehicle speed is

lessened by the selective application of brakes and/or power reduction.

Traction Control increases the NX’s ability to grip, especially when starting off or

accelerating on an uneven or slippery surface. Corrective measures are applied the

moment the risk of wheel-spin is detected, thereby maintaining traction.

The cylinder head has an integrated exhaust manifold and twin-scroll turbo-charger

(a world-first combination), and the air-to-liquid inter-cooler is directly mounted on

the engine’s Atkinson Cycle.

The Lexus Distance Plans give you and all Lexus owners peace of mind and fixed-costs motoring. The Lexus Distance Plans are fully supported and approved by Toyota SA Motors. The Lexus Distance Plans are designed to give you, the motorist, a value-added product that supports your needs by containing motoring costs. Lexus Distance Plans offer all customers access to service at any Lexus dealership in South Africa and Lexus dealerships in our neighbouring countries, i.e. Namibia, Lesotho, Swaziland and Botswana.

The Lexus Distance Plans cover all your normal operating condition services up to 4 years/100 000km. All servicing must be carried out according to the specified service intervals stipulated in the vehicle’s Book of Life, to ensure that the Distance Plan and the vehicle’s warranty remain valid.

All Lexus owners have an option to upgrade the Lexus Distance Plans. Lexus offers our customers various options in terms of choice of cover, depending on individual requirements.

Please feel free to contact your nearest Lexus dealer for the various options to upgrade your Distance Plan. We at Lexus appreciate and value your support and aim to make vehicle ownership a positive experience for all our customers. Please read on to familiarise yourself with the Lexus Distance Plan.

I N C E P T I O N D AT E O F P L A NThe inception date of the Lexus Distance Plans will be the same as the vehicle’s warranty inception date. The same will apply to all demonstration vehicles sold by a Lexus dealership.

Plan Plus (e.g. brake discs, brake callipers, clutch, exhaust, battery, etc.)

• Non-Lexus-approved additives • Paint/body/trim repairs • Accessories • Unreasonable requests• Alterations and modifications • Driver abuse/negligence or unreasonable use including

any form of competition • Insurance-related claims and repairs • Accident damage • Rattles and squeaks • Cleaning of fuel system • Cracked or broken glass • Expenses incurred at non-Lexus dealers • Flood, riot, weather and fire damage • Engine tuning • Repairs or damage as a result of non-compliance with

service requirements or warranty obligations • Damage incurred through the vehicle having been

driven with insufficient engine lubricants or coolant • Any claims arising outside the borders of South Africa, Namibia, Lesotho, Swaziland or Botswana

• Items requiring replacement as a result of severe operating conditions will be for the customer’s account. The severe operating schedule is not covered in any of the Distance Plans
