TEXT MESSAGE ALERTS FOR DISMISSAL CHANGES

Sign up for Mrs. Griffith’s Remind Notifications to know when the campus is having a “Rainy Day

Dismissal.” If there is lightening in the area or students would get soaked walking home, we have a

Rainy Day Dismissal and students will follow their “Rainy Day Dismissal Plan” (this usually impacts

bike riders and walkers) and increases the number of cars in the car rider line. This communication

has also been used to communicate school delays and closures due to inclement weather (ice days,

floods, etc.). All families are encouraged to sign up by texting @bhe to 81010 or you can download

the mobile app by going to rmd.at/bhe on your web browser on your phone or computer. (Remind

messages are a one-way communication; please do not reply to messages as responses are unable

to be sent.)

The Division of Technology as well as other departments will continue to add information to this site to inform parents of the digital tools that are available to them outside of school. MONDAY, NOVEMBER 7 – MRS. BEAUCHAMP

MRS. MECKLENBURG

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 8 – MRS. SIMMONS

Dear Fifth Grade Parents,

Fifth grade is a very special year in which we celebrate in the yearbook in various ways. Here is an overview of

what you can expect. At the end is a check list of things we need from you in order to complete the yearbook.

The 5th grade group photos were taken during specials on Tuesday, October 18, 2016.

Please notify us by email: [email protected] if your child is absent for the picture day. It is

important that we are notified if a student was absent so that we can make the arrangements to have the picture

taken.

The group photo of the entire fifth grade will be pictured in the beginning and at the end of the yearbook. Prints

will be offered for sale by Florencia Photography around December 2016. This reduces the photo session cost

for the PTA, but you are not obligated to buy the prints. The PTA does not receive any money from the print

sales.

The "Original Huskies" group photo will be taken immediately after the 5th grade group photo. We need your

input to find out which students have attended all of their elementary years at BHE. We rely on parental

feedback for this. Please return the form below as soon as possible.

Baby pictures of the fifth graders are an important and popular part of the yearbook. We are hoping to repeat

the success from previous years, and have a baby picture for every 5th grader displayed next to his/her portrait

on the class portrait pages. The idea is to show how much they have changed from when they were babies or

toddlers until now. You can choose whichever photo you like best of your child at a young age and share that

with us.

We prefer that you share the baby picture with us by e-mail: [email protected]. Please send the

highest resolution/biggest file you have of the picture. If you prefer to submit a print that we scan for you and

return, you can send it in to your child's homeroom teacher, or turn it in at the front desk at BHE. Please put

prints in an envelope, zip lock bag or similar for protection, and mark them: "Yearbook, PTA, Child's full name,

Homeroom teacher's last name"

Please send the baby pictures by Friday, December 2, 2016.

In last year's yearbook, we included a page with 5th grade memories that 5th grade parents had shared with us.

These included special events their fifth graders had attended throughout all of their years at BHE, such as:

musicals, field trips, 100th day of school, Kinder Rodeo, 50's Day, 3rd grade Wax Museum, pictures with

former teachers, etc. We would love to have a similar page for our current 5th graders. In order to do so, we

would need you to send in some of your old pictures of your 5th grader and their friends. We also did this the

past few years for the yearbook. Check one of your last yearbooks, if you want to see an example. Again,

please email to [email protected] or send in the pictures and label them.

Please submit any memory pictures by Friday, December 2, 2016.

Yearbooks are available for purchase for $30 if purchased by October 28, 2016. After that date, the price will

increase to$35.

Recognition ads can be ordered until February 16, 2017. They are $15. You can order a yearbook recognition

ad for your student at: www.jostens.com/yearbookads

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact us at: [email protected].

Thank you,

The Yearbook Team
