Pause to Ponder
‘A Teacher affects eter-
nity ; he can never tell
where his influence
stops.‟ Indeed, the
teacher has the greatest
influence in shaping
young minds just as the
sculptor gives shape to
clay, across all ages and
the world over. Apart
from immediate family,
teachers are truly the
second largest influence
on the lives of children,
building in them core
values of compassion
and generosity along
with imparting the nec-
essary life skills. Thus
the teacher-student bond
is one of the most pre-
cious bonds cherished
by both teacher and
student.

Teacher‟s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and zeal on 5th September 2019 as a
mark of tribute to Dr. S.Radhakrishnan and the revered teachers of the school. The pro-
gramme began with the auspicious havan followed by the assembly where students from
classes 1 to 12 presented a potpourri of entertaining skits, foot tapping dances and melodious
music to celebrate the occasion. The highlight of the programme was an audio visual presen-
tation where the alumni of the institution shared their priceless memories of their teachers and
the school through its 20 year long memorable journey.
Dear Students,
‗गुरुर्ब्रह्मागुरुर्वरष्णुगुररुरे्दवोमहेश्वरः गुरुसाक्षातपरर्ब्ह्मा तस्मैश्रीगुरवेनमः’
Meaning :Guru is the Creator (Brahma), Guru is the Preserver(Vishnu),
Guru is (Maheshwara), Guru is the absolute (singular) Lord himself, Salutations to that Sri
Guru!
Indeed, the Guru Shishya bond is the most revered of all the ties that connect one human
being to another apart from the parent-child bond. It would not be wrong to say that a
teacher is perhaps the only one outside family who takes pride in every success and each
milestone achieved by the child and shares his/her disappointment and anxiety before every
test. Teachers are ideal role models as they influence the young lives in their care by setting
an example through both word and deed and take the responsibility of moulding a child's character at each and every step. Dear Students, cherish this loving bond with
every teacher who touches your life in some way or other. Give your teachers the respect they
deserve, because they are the ones who can help you get where you need to go.

MY TRAVEL EXPERIENCE IN EUROPE
RUSHIL RAZDAN XII-D
A Memorable Trip to London: As soon as I landed in London, I could feel
the cold breeze against my face. The air was much cleaner as compared to
Delhi. It is definitely a great place to beat the Indian heat during summers.
When we landed, it was almost 10:00 pm in the night but still there was light
all around as if it was evening time.
Hyde Park and Royal Albert Hall : On the first day we went to the world-famous Hyde
Park. It is the largest royal park in London covering 350 acres. One can see
Londoners cycling, having a picnic or jogging in the park. This park was ear-
lier a hunting ground used by the royal families but was converted into a park
in the 19th century. This park has many beautiful integrated monuments
sculpted seamlessly into the park such as the royal Albert monument. It is a
beautiful park and a must visit for every tourist. Just across the road is the
famous Royal Albert Hall. It is a concert hall. The first Indian to perform at
the Albert hall was Lata Mangeshkar, who gave a performance in 1974.
Buckingham Palace : Probably the most well-known tourist place in London
which no one can miss. The magnificent palace is the home to the queen. We
were lucky enough to see the royal guards change at the gates of the Bucking-
ham Palace. The royal building behind the gilded gates was a structure to be-
hold. It is truly a place worthy for the queen. During our short stay at the front
of the palace we clicked several pictures.
London Eye : Another most visited tourist attraction in London with almost 3.75 million
visitors annually. It is the tallest observation wheel in Europe. It displays
the breathtaking skyline of London. The tall soaring skyscrapers are a
treat to behold. Each capsule can hold up to 25 passengers and takes half
an hour to complete one revolution. We were in awe, seeing such a enor-
mous tructure. The sunset view from the top of the Ferris Wheel was
truly enchanting and it was one of the most beautiful sights I had ever seen.
Madame Tussauds : Our final day in London was at the famous wax museum of Madame
Tussauds. The museum has lifelike wax sculptures of many famous personali-
ties. It is a very famous place and tourists come here for photographs with the
lifelike celebrity sculptures. This was the first ever Madame Tussauds in the
world. The place is huge and takes almost half a day to tour completely. My
one week stay in London was truly eye opening. The seamless blend of tradi-
tion and royalty is truly remarkable. London is truly a global city with one of the most well
behaved and lovely people. While boarding my flight back to Delhi from London Heathrow
Airport, I closed my eyes and relived my days in London. One advice for tourists is that the
water from the taps is completely safe to drink and is a good alternative for expensive pack-
aged water.

Role of Teach-
ers in shaping
our lives
A lot of students in the school litter in the corridors and classrooms in the recess, using
plastic wrappers, paper bits, and aluminum foil. Cleanliness is an important aspect of
every institution, but it is expected even more from a young generation well versed with
the problems of the modern world.
While children have the right to play and have fun in the recess, this habit of littering
around the school even when there are dustbins available in every classroom, and even
around the grounds, is not only s sign of disregard towards tidiness, but condescension
towards our sanitation workers and janitors as well. Every blue-collar job is hard, and no
one wishes to make a living picking up garbage. Therefore, it would be the most basic of
kindnesses on your part to respect our amazing support staff.
On a planet where governments refuse to take actions strong enough to curb carbon
emissions below the 55% we need by 2030, the least we, as common people, could do is
to try to minimize our waste production. Regardless of what you may believe, keeping a
lax and casual attitude when it comes to littering at school will, eventually, if not now,
result in disdain towards leading a plastic free life as well.
A simple solution is available, of course. Seeing as how trash cans are very common, I
find it hard to believe that the majority of students find it difficult to find them. So, next
time you find yourself deciding to throw something onto the floor, check yourself and
throw it into the dustbin first. DHRUV MEHNDIRATTA

CLEANLINESS IS NEXT TO GODLINESS
WITH GRATITUDE TO ALL TEACHERS
I still remember the first day you taught me. You intimidated me a little, but I grew to cherish your
intimidation. I remember being completely in awe of your style of teaching, with every doubt in
my mind vanishing in seconds. I remember being absolutely amazed by your patience and your
talent at controlling an entire class of 30 noisy teenagers. I remember being super scared because
this was the first time I was going to take exams in senior school, and you were always there, help-
ing me get over that fear and motivating me to work even harder. I remember being thrilled when I
found out you were going to teach me the next year as well. Thank you for always being there as a
continuous source of kindness in my life. Thank you for providing me the warmth I needed, thank
you for scolding me whenever I was going down the wrong path, and thank you for guiding me to
the right one. Thank you for comforting me when I was nervous and very scared. Thank you for
showering me with blessings all the years you taught me. I'm glad I could be your student. Thank
you for being my teacher. A very Happy Teachers‟ Day to all the teachers who deserve all the
smiles and happiness.

Here I am now,
In the Examination Hall,
There comes nervousness again,
Making me feel small.
My ground is shaking,
My heart‟s palpitating,
I feel the atmosphere
Is very intoxicating.
My mother says,
„Don‟t worry sweetheart,
You‟re going to do great!
Just keep that in your heart‟.
„Focus on the process‟,
My father says,
„Don‟t worry about the result,
And you won‟t score less‟.
But there‟s the question paper,
Problems are it‟s judging eyes,
It‟s saying, „You can‟t do it,
What they said, all lies‟.
Suddenly I wake up,
To see my book and pen,
It was all just a dream,
I have to give my paper again!

Once, there was a land of wonder,
With blue lakes and booming thunder,
There was no crime, terrorism or murder,
And enough food for all in the larder.
Once, there was a land of wonder,
But the beautiful fabric was torn asunder,
By the only son who could commit as damning a
sin,
As committing his life towards destroying his own
kin.
We ruined the Earth, our mother,
And the plants and animals that were our sisters
and brothers.
We make pillars of smoke that herald our doom,
As our Creator helplessly watches the gloom.
Mudit Tiwari 9-D
The song from my heart grew louder and louder,
May the lord almighty please to decipher.
In anguishing pain they rose far above,
Leaving another memorial down on the Earth.
The soulless people had another party,
After all another person had joined their “party”.
Brainwashing people they went on with their
work,
What else had they to do on Earth?
Spreading terror, conducting massacres they had
no mercy,
Taking lives of innocents they had no courtesy.
Let alone others not even children did they spare,
Leaving bereaving mothers with the pain they
could never bear.
Oh Lord Almighty! Have some mercy,
Lend this world a power to do away with this
enormity.
Let our fellow beings stand together against this
atrocity.
Let the world be a new place to be in.

I worked hard
I honestly tried
But that didn't suffice…
Tears rolled down my eyes
I asked myself was it alright?
I looked everywhere for the little motivation inside me,
There I found that determination inside me.
That determination to prove myself again and again
That determination to fight back again
That determination to light that burning fire again,
That determination to reach my goal again
There my fighting spirit sparked again
My determination was there to bring me out of my
desperate times
My determination was there to bring me out of my hol-
low life.
There I stood aware
Nothing can stop me if I wish
Nothing is impossible if I wish
Every hurdle can be moved if I push
There were zeal and strong determination
What I needed was the true dedication
I worked hard
I tried
And that did suffice.

The exams are upon us!
How will we survive?
It‟s raining cats and dogs,
Upon us and our lives!
There‟s too much to study,
And a lot of text to learn.
How will we study?
And sacrifice all the fun?
There‟s so much tension,
So much to worry about.
Will we stay here forever?
Or will we go out?
The brain is exploding,
With so many chapters.
Will we be a slow snail?
Or will we be a leopard?
But our teachers worked really
hard
And helped us through exams,
Only the report card can tell…
If victory has come to our

And after every storm,
There is a rainbow.
After a successful result,
All our faces will glow.
If we get full marks,
Our mood will light up.

Once upon a time there lived a girl named Rita. She was pretty as well as greedy. All the
girls in the village did not like her. She saw a dog which was very hungry. Rita had a bun
and she was going to her house. The dog saw the bun in her hand and walked along
with her. She hid the bun and threw a stone at the dog and the dog ran away. While walk-
ing Rita's bun slipped from her hand and a donkey near her immediately ate the bun. All
the village girls laughed at her.

If I become the junior head girl of the school, first of all, I would be very thankful to
the teachers and my coordinator, as well as my principal Ma‟am. Being junior head
girl would mean that I would play a key role in the school community which is a re-
sponsibility that I am willing to take.
I would be approachable to all the students who might have any concerns or worries,
and I would help them to the best of my ability. I will work in a team with full confi-
dence. I will be able to balance additional activities and school work.
I will make sure, my fellow students, follow the rules and regulations of our school.
I will make a good relationship with my co-students and listen carefully what they
want. I will discuss the same with teachers and get it resolved.
I will look after the cleanliness of the school premises. If I find it inappropriate, I will
report it to the concerned in charge and take immediate action.
I will do all the tasks assigned to me, anytime, in a more proficient way.
And on the personal front, by becoming junior head girl, I would get the opportunity
to develop public speaking and leadership skills.
I will perform well in academics, sports and would definitely set an example for all the
children. At last I would like to say, that I will be a role model for all the children, and
I will feel privileged to be elected. JAI HIND.

CLASS 3 PRESENTATION
―Till taught by pain, men know no water‘s worth.‖ – Byron
To sensitize the people about the water crisis the world is facing today, a
presentation by the students of class III was showcased on 27th September 2019 in
the school auditorium on the theme ―Jal-Sa – Every Drop Counts‖.
The presentation commenced with the lighting of the lamp by our Respected Prin-
cipal, Ms. Meenu Kanwar Ma‟am and the honoured guests followed by a welcome
song. A few words of inspiration were shared by our dear Coordinator
Ms.Jasleena Kohli Ma‟am. The students emphasized the importance of water with
the help of a skit portraying the future of Earth without water wherein the life of
aquatic animals would be in danger and people would be using water ATMs to
withdraw water as per their requirements, the future where water will be used as a
gift to bless the people with on auspicious occasions. The audience applauded on
watching the scene where in future the ecstatic children of AIS, MV were shown
reaching the Moon and realizing our Founder President Sir‟s vision.`
A very poignant message was portrayed through a mime wherein the children pre-
sented how we are wasting the most important natural resource. Later the parents cheered for the mesmerizing grand finale dance performance. The presentation concluded with blessings by our respected Principal, Ms. Meenu
Kanwar Ma‟am.

ECO CLUB
-AN OVERVIEW-
JAL SHAKTI ABHIYAN-POSTER MAKING AND POWERPOINT
PRESENTATION ON SIGNIFICANCE OF WATER
A feeling of euphoria prevailed at the discovery of traces of water on the moon
by Chandrayaan- 1‟s lunar impact probe in 2008. In 2019, the Chandrayaan 2
Mission was launched by India for mapping the lunar surface for presence of wa-
ter. But the eco club had some other thoughts. They wondered that we humans
waste fresh water & use it un-judiciously creating the need for searching water
on other heavenly bodies. Why not conserve and judiciously use what we have
instead? There is always enough to satisfy man‟s need but not greed . We are
very proud of our space program but we are amazed on the plight of humans due
to freshwater scarcity.
So eco club students set out with a mission to spread awareness about „‟save-
water, save life”. We should do space exploration for the sake of curiosity. But
we should not waste the earth‟s resources so as to prevent human extinction. If
we continue to waste water we will become extinct as it is very difficult to find
another home away from home.
Our earth as seen from voyager 1 Space Craft in 1991
Famous picture: „the pale blue dot‟
We can observe that our earth is only a „pale blue dot‟ in this vast universe which
is probably the only life supporting planet in this mega cosmos. We should do

Director: VIKAS BEHL Reviewing the „Already Viewed‟ has always been a way of providing the people
with a wider view of options that could fulfil their aspirations for a good leisure
time, and the movie, „Super 30‟ is one of those. Filmed in the rural horizon of the
state of Bihar, Super 30 is a biopic of a life changing personality, Mr. Anand Kumar. The movie
explains his story of success, grief, alterations, values, commitment, dignity and compromises that
he had made to protect many young minds from the social hierarchy system of the society where
he not only established the foundation stone of dignity in thirty students but also in over a thou-
sand lives. Actor Hrithik Roshan convincingly portrays his aura and charm as Anand Kumar,
making the audience applaud his performance. The act performed by various supporting actors
was one of the key reasons that made the movie enjoyable, entertaining and loved by all. A cherry
on the top was the short yet the pleasing piece of actor Pankaj Tripathi as the corrupt education
minister that added a new excitement. The cinematography was highly praiseworthy where the
visuals and graphics captured all the attention and depicted the principles of science and mathe-
matics in a fun way, appealing to the audience. To cut a long story short, Anand Kumar was a
brilliant mathematician who aimed to study in Cambridge University. However, financial prob-
lems restricted him from fulfilling his dreams. After the demise of his father he was the only
breadwinner of the family and was forced to do petty jobs to earn a living. Later he started work-
ing as a teacher in a popular coaching centre. Soon he realized the irrelevance of such a business
and motivated himself to join the path of thinking for others, by preparing IIT aspirants from un-
derprivileged sections. I feel that this movie portrayed the biography of a selfless person in the
most appealing way.

This story is about a sixty year old man named Ove. He had lost his wife, Sonja.
She died of cancer. Ove didn‟t have anyone except for Sonja. His parents died
when he was very young. He even lost his best friend. Since Sonja died, Ove
had made several attempts to kill himself, but he was always interrupted. The
story starts with Ove arguing with a salesperson to get the perfect iPad for an eight year old
girl. From here the flashback starts. Ove lives alone, he has no children and his only wish is
to be with Sonja for all of his life. Ove is the grumpiest man you will ever meet. He is the
typical old man arguing that everything should be perfect and everyone should follow rules.
He would conduct early morning checks, note down the serial numbers of the cars in the park-
ing area and then cross check them again the next morning and see if any of the cars are still
there because no cars are allowed in the residential area and if there are, he would start knock-
ing on the doors. An integral part of the story are Ove‟s neighbours. They are an Iranian fam-
ily who have just moved into the U.S. country. They have no clue about anything. Ove thinks
that he is surrounded by idiots. He has such unwavering conviction about what the world
should be and a lifelong dedication to make it just so. It‟s a bittersweet heart warming tale that
will change your perception of life, it will restore the power of faith and friendship in you and
it will even make you love cats! You will laugh, you will cry, but you will come back for

Dear Ma‟am, We visited the school for presentation day last Saturday. We were
impressed by the well maintained spotless school and clean auditorium.
I must appreciate the effort put in for the presentation day. I had tears
in my eyes when the students started their shlok.
Words would not be enough to praise you all. The dedication and
efforts of the teachers and students was clearly visible.
It was wonderful watching small kids performing with great
enthusiasm. The function was well organized and also managed
professionally. The best part of the function was the time management.
Music was so good and cheerful, it not only made kids dance but the
whole audience.
I would like to congratulate the entire team for putting up such a
