The 9 th Annual Scientific Meeting Society of Veterinary Soft Tissue Surgery The 9 th Annual Scientific Meeting The Steamboat Grand at Steamboat, Colorado June 10 – 12, 2010 The Meeting The Society of Veterinary Soft Tissue Surgery will hold its Ninth Annual Scientific Meeting at The Steamboat Grand at Steamboat in Colorado. Participants are encouraged to present case reports and research abstracts in an informal atmosphere. Lectures are planned from 7:30 a.m.- 12:00 noon, with plenty of breaks for discussions and socializing with colleagues. The rest of the day is free to enjoy the local scenery and activities. Covidien has once again generously offered their sponsorship of the facilities and refreshments for the meeting. This year’s featured series will be presented by Dr. Mike Lappin, and will include the latest information on the medical management of infection disorders. Registration for the meeting is $50.00 for society members and $100.00 for non-members. Registration fees will be waived for participants presenting an abstract or case report, and for ACVS and ECVS residents. Presentations should be limited to 15 minutes, with an additional 5-minute discussion. Membership to the Society for Veterinary Soft Tissue Surgery is $30.00 per year. Located at the base of the Steamboat Ski Area, The Steamboat Grand features 328 beautifully appointed guestroom accommodations, offering a variety of hotel rooms, one-, two- & three- bedroom condominiums and eight luxurious penthouses. SVSTS Mission The purpose for a Society of Veterinary Soft Tissue Surgery is to promote:

• Communication of ideas between practitioners, surgery residents and diplomats interested in soft tissue surgery

• Soft tissue surgery to practicing veterinarians

• Communication with diplomates from other specialties including: Critical Care, Anesthesia, and Internal Medicine

• Research in soft tissue surgery by residents, diplomats, or others

Abstract Submission Abstracts should be submitted by e-mail (Word or PDF format) to Drs. Eric Monnet ([email protected]), and Cheryl Hedlund ([email protected]) by April 1, 2010. Make sure you receive a reply from either Drs. Monnet, or Hedlund to confirm your abstract has been received and can be opened. Abstract Format: Abstracts should be typed in Times New Roman, single spaced, with the abstract text no more than one page in length and with 1 inch margins. Figures can be added in an appendix page (2 figures maximum; both must be on the same page).

Driving directions: From Hayden Airport - The Hayden airport is located just a few miles east of Hayden and approximately 22 miles and 35 kilometers west of Steamboat Springs off Highway 40. From the airport, take the access road about 2 miles out to Highway 40 and turn right. Steamboat is about 22 miles east. There is no public bus service from the airport. However, shuttle services are available. From Denver - 157 miles Northwest of Denver, an easy 3 hour drive. Take I-70 west through the Eisenhower Tunnel to Silverthorne, Exit 205 (67 miles). Take CO 9 North to Kremmling (37 miles), then West on US 40 to Steamboat Springs (53 miles). The Steamboat/Hayden Airport To make your travel to Steamboat more convenient, a multi-year improvement program has recently been completed. Airport Shuttle Go Alpine : Go Alpine offers daily service to and from Denver International ($170 round trip) and Hayden/Yampa Valley Regional airports. There are 4 daily shuttles in the winter and 3 daily shuttles in the summer to and from Denver International.

CE Credits: This program has been submitted (but not yet approved) for 12 hours of continuing education credit in jurisdictions which recognize AAVSB's RACE approval; however participants should be aware that some boards have limitations on the number of hours accepted in certain categories and or restrictions of certain methods of delivery of continuing education.
