Who?Any one, anywhere. You! Yes, even you.This is non competitive so it’s perfect for those of you who have a race on your bucket list or those hard core racers who just love to run.

What in heaven’s name is a Pumpkin Pacer 5k,anyway?

Well –it’s a race-you know that already, right?

It’s non-competitive- go at your own pace, walk, run, crawl

It’s Chip-timed. Although non-competitive, it’s great to have a sense of where you are at so you can move forward from there-i.e hmm, ok I know my next race will be faster or yuck-I’m never racing again.

WHY?Well we think physical activity is importantAnd we certainly think eating is important

Which is why we devised this fundraiser to help the Hantsport and Area Food bank.

Not everyone has food to eat on a regular basis.I’ll bet someone YOU know does not have enough food to eat on a regular basis-although it may not

seem evident to you .$5 from every registration goes to our food bank

plus we are reimbursing the food bank ~ their volunteers are providing breakfast on race day.

In March 2013• 21,760 Nova Scotians were

assisted by food banks.• Meal programs and soup

kitchens collectively served 154,330 meals and 18,724 snacks during the same month

• It’s no longer only the homeless and those on Social Assistance that need our help- it’s the working poor.

Breakfast is included in every Pumpkin Pacer registration- breakfast for anyone else the cost is $8 and we need to know ahead of time to make sure enough food is prepared.

Where will it be held ?

Town of Hantsport-45.0667° N, 64.1833° W

It starts at 9:30 am on Oct 18th at the entrance to Hantsport Community Centre

The breakfast-included in your registration- will be at the Hantsport Fire Hall

Preceding the main race will be a Kiddies Pumpkin 2 k at 9am – starting at the same place

Pumpkin Pacers-Register by Sept 15th to receive a tee shirt or medal $35 or $45 for both a tee and medal

Race itself is only $27 and includes free breakfast

Kiddies race is $5 payable on race day-each child receives a participation medal

$5 pp will be donated to Hantsport & Area Food Bank
