Choice Point – Align Your Purpose

Many of us are at a life-changing point in our lives

wondering – ‘what is my purpose’, ‘what is happening

in my world’, ‘what can I do to make a difference’. It

seems there is an increasing unrest and turbulence in

the world. We are bombarded every day by shocking

images on the TV, terrible stories in the paper and for

many of us there is a growing sense of shift and

change occurring in the world. Personally too, we feel

that there must be something more.

Change begins with us; every choice we make is

creating the future for better or for worse– but where

do we begin to make an improvement in our lives and

start to see a happier healthier world? How do we

make the right choices?

Wouldn’t it be amazing if you had access to the kind

of information that until now has been the reserve of

the world’s most far-thinking scientists, business leaders

and change-makers?

that allowed you to connect with others – and

combine forces to help create the world at its highest

potential?

If you answered a resounding “YES!” to these three-

questions, then read on – because over the course of

this book, we’ll be undertaking a fascinating journey,

which guarantees to alter how you see life forever…

Very shortly, you’ll be one of the first to have the tools

you need to create positive change in both your own

life and in the lives of those around you, on a scale

that’s never been possible until now…

Choice Point is a hands-on movement that provides

us all with the information and tools to realize both our

individual and collective potential. It does that through

putting together the collective wisdom of some of the

leading change- makers on our planet in a film, books

and a socially-interactive learning platform but also

enables you to find people of similar interests and

ideas to enable collaboration on a global scale –

really empowering you to co-create the world that

you want to live in. A social network for a positive

social purpose.

This book gives you some tips on how to make better

choices and how you can use these amazing

resources to improve both your life and the lives of

others too.

The term ‘Choice Point’ is borrowed from physics. It is

a place of branching or forking. It is a point of

possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice

points - seemingly negative life events and crises are

actually windows of opportunity for change, enabling

us to drastically improve the quality of our lives by

making different choices. Crises can either be

devastating or transformational depending on what

you’re able to learn from them and the psychological

tools available to you. On another level, it can also be

seen that our planet is at choice point – decisions and

choices made by this generation and the next will

have a huge impact on whether or not this planet will

flourish or be devastated.

Learn how Mother Nature is in a constant cycle of

endings and beginnings, or in other words - choice

points, and how you can tune into this cycle to

maximize your growth potential.

What is a Choice Point?

Learn how to identify the choice points in your life, and

how to use this information to make the best choices

for you at exactly the right time in your life to have the

optimum effect by following these 3 simple principles:

Principle 1 - Understand Your World

Principle 2 -Align Your Purpose

Principle 3- Be The Change

Page 11: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

The first Choice Point principle is to‘Understand Your World’...

Nature, society and your life all have patterns to them.

Through learning to ask questions, conducting

research, having empathy with people and reading

the signs – it’s possible to build up a picture of what

patterns are present in nature, in society and world

events.

“You must know who you are and you must embrace

who you are in order to then go beyond it.”

Alison Pothier – Choice Point movie

The second principle is to ‘Align Your Purpose’. Once

you have understood your world, you will be able to

align your purpose with the patterns that nature and

your social surroundings are able to support. It’s like

sailing with the wind behind you instead of frantically

paddling upstream - you will be guided to achieve

success that you never thought possible. Simply

through thoroughly understanding your world and

then aligning with the patterns already present in the

world, you will achieve great success using less energy

and a great deal less effort because of the knowledge

you’ve gained.

11

Page 12: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

“What scientists are beginning to understand is that

the universe is actually made up of very few patterns

that propagate and repeat themselves on many,

many different scales throughout the universe.”

Gregg Braden - Choice Point movie

Thirdly once you have gathered all the information

you need and discovered your true purpose, the last

principle is to ‘Be The Change’. Understanding Your

World and Aligning Your Purpose will get you a long

way in obtaining a happier more fulfilled life. It is a

failure to get to grips with these simple principles that

often leads to disappointment for people on a

personal development journey who have been taught

the ‘think it, believe it and it will happen’ philosophy

that has been popular in the self-help industry.

However to fully align your purpose, you have to be it

– that is you must really live it and feel it in all aspects

of your life. There can be a lot of blocks that can

prevent this happening – perhaps trust, conditioning,

fear or simply not taking action in the direction of your

purpose. As Gandhi simply said – ‘be the change you

want to see in the world’.

Page 13: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

13

“We change the world by changing ourselves.”

Robert E Quinn – Choice Point movie

Before we have a closer look at the three principles

and how they can actually be applied in your life, it’s

worth explaining how Choice Point came about.

Page 14: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

To properly explain the term

‘Choice Point’ and to

explain how a choice point

can truly change your life,

I’m going to tell my own Choice Point story, which will

demonstrate to you that however disadvantaged you

think you are - you can do it too. This is the story of how

my own personal Choice Point led me to have the

most incredible life journey, resulting in the making of

the Choice Point movie and the social network

platform that allows me to share the wisdom I have

gained from many of life’s great visionaries.

In the first part of my adult life I screwed up, and I

screwed up big time.

For seven years my life seemed over as I spent a

significant portion of it staring up at the ceiling not

being able to move beyond a few hours a day. I had

as a result of many years of a self-destructive

hedonistic lifestyle with all the negative beliefs and

poor self-worth that lifestyle often entails.

How It All StartedHarry Massey - theFounder of Choice Point

Page 15: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

Did I purposefully choose those years in bed? No.

Did I create it? Well – Yes in a way.

Was it part of my destiny?

Was it part of some greater cycle leading on to the

future events that followed?

Looking back now with the knowledge of how that

crisis defined my purpose in life and led me to create

a successful health business, destiny does seem to

have played a part too. Would I be where I am now

without that crisis? I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t.

I had a very significant turning point in my journey from

illness and misery to being able to build a global

company. I simply decided that the way to get myself

better was to try to understand what was really behind

health; how the body really worked and to make a

home wellness system that would enable people to be

able to work out what was wrong with them from

home, and more importantly, to give them a way of

getting themselves better again. I figured if I could do

that, I would get better along the way. I had no idea

how that could be done, how I would get the money

or who would help me, but because I had literally

nothing to lose (I had no life really to speak of) – I

thought I might as well try. That journey was an

extremely tough one, compounded by only having

very limited time per day for thinking and even then

that thinking was extremely foggy as any sufferer of

chronic fatigue syndrome will understand.

15

Page 16: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

Against all the odds – with no business experience - not

even any work experience, heavily compromised

health, unable to drive and with almost zero social skills

after having been holed up in my room for seven years

– incredible things happened, seemingly coincidently.

I met an amazing scientist - Peter Fraser - and together

we set about creating our first health system. NES

Health was formed, and as it started to succeed, my

own health started changing dramatically for the

better.

It wasn’t all plain sailing though. Although I was able

to rapidly grow a successful practitioner-based health

company, it has taken 10 years to develop the

technology and expertise to be able to help people

directly in their own homes as was my original dream.

During the first few months it was the familiar ‘Silicon

Valley garage story’ – except we were in a British

seaside town, in an upstairs flat, buying buttons from

shirt shops and gluing them on to bits of plastic to

make devices and labelling our remedy bottles with a

laser printer. After 6 months the weight of the storage

of bottles in my spare room started causing cracks in

the ceiling downstairs – and it was time to move the

business out - at this time into a larger but cheaper

property that was going to be condemned - what

does this mean?

Page 17: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

The problem was who would invest in someone who

was still pretty ill, hadn’t had a job in 6 years and was

pursuing an extremely revolutionary idea that wasn’t

accepted in mainstream science? I had to build from

the ground up and do whatever it took to see it

happen.

In those early years, I also had another related vision,

which at the time I called the World Consciousness

Project, to help people transform themselves and the

globe via the internet. However, 10 years ago it was

too early for that type of idea and I absolutely didn’t

know nearly enough to pass on the knowledge

needed to make this project successful.

I hadn’t understood my world.

What was really incredible

looking back – is when I

started the Choice Point

project, I had totally forgot-

ten that I’d had the original

idea 10 years ago. So I had

had a vision of a health

system first and then 2 years

later started on the World

Consciousness Project. And

then, 10 years after that, I launched the home wellness

system I call the NES miHealth – and my latest venture

Choice Point is launching in 2012 – 2 years later. Where

did this pattern come from?

17

Page 18: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

What was really at the centre of this success? What

allowed ‘destiny’ to work for me? I believe it was

something incredibly simple – at that choice point in

my life, I decided to align with a purpose that was

bigger than my selfish desire to get myself well, by

instead putting myself as a passionate servant to make

a home wellness system to help others. Simply aligning

with a purpose that was harmonious to the greater

good, enabled patterns that are inherent in nature

and people’s behavior to support that journey and in

turn I got healthy too. In short I had Aligned My

Purpose.

Could I have set up my company earlier and avoided

those years of suffering? Unlikely - without the intense

suffering I wouldn’t have had the drive to learn and

do what I needed to do.

Could I have made that change later? Again unlikely,

as it was at that particular time that I had the

opportunity to radically change my life and move to

America, where I discovered the information I needed

to put my vision into action. If I hadn’t, I’m fairly certain

that my health would have carried on deteriorating

beyond the point of being able to do anything.

Sometime after moving to America, I had another

interesting chain of events that would turn out to be

part of bigger pattern much later.

Page 19: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

I lost my visa waiver to the States and was forced to

move to the UK, I had the last little bit of my money

stolen, lost my boyfriend, and my father died.

Simultaneously Peter Fraser came over to England and

convinced me to ditch the World Consciousness

Project and concentrate on NES Health – and this all

in the space of 3 weeks! Destiny definitely placed me

firmly where I needed to be!

Ten years on – in a reversal of the pattern, my US Visa

has been granted, I’m engaged to be married,

Choice Point is being launched, and I have a

supportive team behind me. In both my professional

and personal life I am constantly endeavoring to Be

the Change and live my life in a state of flow with the

patterns inherent in my environment.

19

Page 20: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

It seems to me that life has patterns that unfold and

that some points in our life are more significant, where

the choices we make can have a much more

significant effect on our life than others. That’s my story

though – it’s only a story by itself – the question I

wanted to know was did it also apply to other people?

Is there a common theme that could be made into a

philosophy of how to master one’s life and make a

difference in the world? What could be gleaned from

the life stories of the most significant leaders, scientists

and thinkers of our day? Did they have choice points

and then go on to Align their Purpose in able to

succeed in life and play a positive role in the society

they lived in? In order to find this out I set about making

the movie Choice Point.

I also had a further motivation for researching the

choice points of contemporary visionaries. I’d spent

the last 10 years preparing to launch a home wellness

system while instead building a practitioner business. I

knew I didn’t know enough to make it scale – after all

we’d only built a relatively small practitioner business

– not the multi-billion dollar one that it would really

take to empower millions of people to take care of

their health from home. I thought the knowledge I’d

gain and people we’d meet from trying to work out

some of the deeper questions of how life really works

and how leaders really apply that to succeed, would

also help me in my quest to realise my dreams and

ambitions.

Page 21: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

21

I hope that you enjoy exploring our findings as they’ve

certainly worked for me and for many of the visionaries

that I’ve met along the way. As our knowledge base

grows, we will continue to evolve and refine the

Choice Point philosophy as we gain collective

experience from others, delving into it.

All the people I interviewed for Choice Point spent

time thoroughly researching and understanding their

world so that they were able to align with their purpose

and take the actions they needed to succeed – rather

than just following a mindset where anything is

possible. I now understand that not everything is

possible, but through recognizing and aligning with

patterns, that the incredible is possible when we get it

right.

The Choice Point philosophy is about those windows

of opportunity where you have the choice to do

something different so that you are supported, rather

than fighting against the patterns unfolding in society

and nature. It’s about how in those moments, if you

can recognize the patterns and align with your

purpose you will be able to move forward with your life

in amazing ways, and really make a difference in the

world.

So now we have some background on the reasons

why Choice Point came into being, let’s look at the

Choice Point Philosophy in a little more detail.

Page 22: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

How Are Choice Points Created?

Page 23: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

23

Everything is changing, everything always has

changed, and everything always will change, in one

way or another. Nature flows and changes and we

are part of it, so our lives also change. When we get

comfortable with the idea of change, that what we’re

doing and experiencing is impermanent, then we

don’t waste so much mental and emotional effort

trying to keep things as they are. We can let things

change and flow with them as they do so. Think of

change as evolution. With every new piece of

knowledge, every new experience, we become more

than we were before. We evolve and gain wisdom in

the process.

Reality is filled with cycles, as we know. A cycle, by its

nature, must come to an end to allow a new one to

begin. From the very small (behavior of subatomic

particles) to the very large (planets and galaxies), life

operates in cycles. The heart beats, we breathe in and

out, the Moon orbits the Earth, the Earth orbits the Sun,

and the Sun orbits the Milky Way galaxy. This is nature,

and you are part of it. You cannot be separate from

nature. You could think of nature’s cycles like waves

on the surface water and life as being a boat on the

water continually being lifted and dropped by the

waves. In this way, you too are carried on the waves

of life.

“The only thing that’s permanent in life is change” ~ HH Dalai Lama

Page 24: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

Just as nature’s cycles end and new ones begin, so

many aspects of your life follow cyclical patterns. With

this realization you can become more comfortable

with the idea of impermanence. Cycles present us

with opportunities, especially as a cycle ends and a

new one begins. As creators of our own destiny, we

can make choices in our lives to let go of old aspects

of ourselves that don’t serve who or what we want to

become in our lives – like a cycle we choose to leave

behind. We may find ourselves in situations that are

similar to ones we have been in before – maybe many

years before – maybe it’s a pattern we have noticed

throughout our lives – but with knowledge and aware-

ness we can choose how we react and behave in

that situation in order to move forwards in our lives in

the most productive way.

Many people are fearful of change because change

represents the end of something that we might have

become comfortable or felt safe with. We sometimes

even face resistance from others (friends, family,

colleagues) as we go through a process of change

(change for us can impact them too). Our ideas, and

even our sanity, can be questioned. And if we’re not

committed to our change we might resonate with

their doubts, not making the changes we want, and

find ourselves repeating the same patterns of the past.

Page 25: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

25

So as we prepare to change, it can be useful to

expect resistance, we can mentally equip ourselves

with empathy for the concerns of others and also

develop the determination to strive forwards.

Are you ready to let go of some aspects ofyour life to begin the next exciting phase ofyour journey?

A choice point is that window of opportunity where

you can make a choice between repeating the same

kind of thinking and behaviors of the past, or to think

and be something different, something bigger and

better than you’ve been before. A choice point is a

window of opportunity where you have the chance

to align yourself with harmonious patterns in the world,

those that serve your needs and the needs and desires

of humanity.

We can choose a new future, a new destiny so to

speak, a new path whose destiny-ation was not

available to us before.

How do you then align yourself withpatterns that are good for you so you canmake better choices for your future?

Page 26: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

PRINCIPLE 1Understand Your World

‘’There’s patterns and seasons in nature, there’s patterns of thelunar cycles that affect people, different possibilities, that aremore lined-up. And as we understand these patterns, and

co-operate with these patterns, then it’s like you get to dancethrough life, rather than to be dragged through life.’’

Jack Canfield – Choice Point Movie

Page 27: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

27

Everything that we interact with can be thought of in

terms of information processing. We process informa-

tion that comes from our environment via our senses

and then use that information to make our decisions.

The ability to see the world for what it truly is, what the

spiritual traditions have described as ‘enlightenment’

– that is the ability to form a cohesive and accurate

picture of the world while having a deeper insight into

the meaning and purpose of all things.

Of course, that concept is relative to a situation - if you

took an Indian sage and placed him in a New York

business meeting - would he have a cohesive and

accurate picture of his environment? Unlikely.

Enlightenment, at most, is relative and temporary to

the situation, and often those that claim to be

‘enlightened’ are deluded at best.

In order to have a more cohesive and accurate

picture of reality from which to base our decisions, we

need to seek out knowledge, become interested in

our world and really think about the information

available to us – in other words we need to become

wise. True wisdom can only come from ‘Understanding

Our World’. Without seeking wisdom, it is very difficult

to improve and grow in your life.

It is often taught in self-help circles that if you can

identify and change limiting belief systems, you can

pretty much transform your life without doing much

else.

Page 28: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

However, although working on your belief systems is

part of the process, it is not the whole picture.

Changing a limiting belief is one thing, but in order to

see true and lasting change in your life you also need

to gain knowledge of your environment and the other

factors in your life, which may be having an influence

on your situation.

You need to be able to understand the cyclical nature

of life events and be ready to use that knowledge to

match up to situations that are in harmony with your

environment. The Universe is structured and ordered

according to natural laws – and we can see these

structures and patterns reflected in nature and world

events. When we gain a deeper knowledge of the

underlying patterns in life we can start to make the

choices that the Universe supports and so we live more

harmoniously. Making decisions based on the patterns

present in nature and the Universe will cause your

belief systems to naturally shift as you put your new

knowledge to test in the real world. That's the basis of

learning - you apply new knowledge to a situation,

and if the unexpected happens, you re-evaluate your

worldview to work out a more accurate picture for the

future. The process of gaining new knowledge and

testing it out is a lifelong process of learning,

understanding, and adapting.

Page 29: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

29

Let us explore just a few of the ways theChoice Point membership helps us to

understand our world:

Become the ‘Enquirer’

‘’Things can look disordered, they can look random,

but there should be a hidden order to them. And if

we want to understand them our job is to find

that hidden order’’

Ian Stewart – Choice Point movie

Enquiry encourages us to look at the world and to look

at ourselves. When we look outward, we observe the

repetitive cycles of nature, we can notice that the

same pattern repeats itself on both larger and smaller

scales. But since we are part of nature it is no surprise

that we can see many of nature’s patterns also inside

our own bodies: the cyclical beat of the heart

compares with the cyclical rotation of the Earth, which

is responsible for the cycle of night and day; the spiral

nature of DNA is comparable with the spiral motion of

galaxies and even the spiral movements of water

currents; blood vessels resemble river deltas; and

neural networks in the brain resemble super clusters of

galaxies in the cosmos.

Page 30: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

But as well as finding repeating patterns inside our

bodies, we also find that many of our life experiences

follow patterns. This is because we are subject to

nature’s cyclical influence. To take one example,

body chemistry is affected by the cycle of night and

day, which is a consequence of the Earth’s rotation.

This gives us periodic changes in the hormone

melatonin, for instance, which regulates our sleep.

And so as nature runs its patterns, we can expect

similar kinds of patterns in our lives. This is a factor, on

both a personal and a global scale, in why events

repeat themselves.

“The beauty of understanding patterns is that it gives

us a base to make our choices from”

Harry Massey Choice Point movie

So through being an enquirer we can learn to

appreciate how the outside world is linked to our inner

world. In even more fundamental ways, the entire

universe is interconnected. We are in constant

interaction with the world. Every choice we make

therefore has consequences. This is the law of cause

and effect.

Enquiry also shines a light on the contents of our minds.

It has been said that one of the wisest things a person

can ever do is to, ‘Know Thyself’. Through inquiry, we

can become more aware of how we feel about cer-

tain things, how we behave in certain situations, and

even why we think the way we do.

Page 31: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

31

We might also enquire into why we think, feel, believe,

and act the way we do. We can learn more about our

skills, our inner motivations, our loves and fears, and

even our deepest hopes and dreams. Honest inquiry

requires an openness with ourselves but we can be

motivated by knowing that it will helps us to make our

lives more fulfilling. It’s through Inquiry that we can

work out what part of our environment we should be

focusing on and trying to understand in order to take

advantage of patterns that could support us best.

When you are open to learning about the world

around you, you put yourself in the best position to use

the Choice Point tools of ‘Understanding Your World’,

such as conducting research, asking questions,

embracing endings, reading the signs and developing

intuition.

Asking questions can unlock the world for us. Asking

questions – through research and of others - helps us

to get the answers we need in our lives.

Page 32: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

In our changing world, researching and asking

questions helps us to gain a wider perspective of the

world, helping us to spot trends that we might not

have been aware of. It can help us to identify the

direction of currents of change in the world, giving us

the opportunity to paddle with the currents rather than

against them, staying ahead of change instead of

reacting to it. We also learn that rather than trying to

create everything we want, that some currents of

change and growth in the world are more favored

than others – more supported by nature - so

researching and asking questions helps us to select

those that are the most supported.

There is skill to be learned in asking the right questions.

In time, we become an expert on knowing which

questions to ask and therefore the information we gain

becomes even more impactful.

Ask Questions

We might ask questions through researching in books,

media, or the Internet, and we can also ask questions

of other people. A natural side-effect of the latter is

that it can help us connect with each other, which is

healthy in and of itself. Scientific research, for instance,

shows that we are genetically wired to connect with

each other. It is natural for us. Some research now

even shows that it helps us to live longer.

Page 33: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

33

And with these connections we forge, we become

parts of social networks through which information

flows, thereby opening up a broader avenue to

receive further answers to our questions. It’s like we

become part of an electrically conducting circuit

where information passes along the wires.

There is no shame in asking questions of people. Some

people see this as a form of failure, that they can’t find

the answers by themselves. But asking questions is a

wise and intelligent act. With all the benefits of

researching and asking questions, it would be wise to

put aside any pride.

Not only is there a skill in asking the right questions, but

there is also a skill to be learned in listening to the

answers we receive. We need to be open and

receptive to answers, without bias. And, of course we

needn’t accept everything that we learn. We can also

learn to separate fact from opinion.

Intuition

‘The only real valuable thing is intuition.’

-Einstein

Intuition is natural to us. It draws upon many of the

cues around us that are out of our conscious aware-

ness or focus.

Page 34: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

We draw upon information from our environment, from

people around us, from their behavior patterns, from

articles we’ve read or things we’ve seen on TV, and

even from things we’ve learned in the past.

Even though information might be out of your present

conscious awareness, your mind draws upon it when

you are looking for an answer or when you are

focused upon a goal. The result is a feeling – an

intuition. It can be a source of positive information

about life, guiding us to possible choices we can

make.

And just as anything improves with practice, so in time

intuition becomes a reliable source of guidance in life.

It can even help us see patterns where none seem to

exist.

Intuition can also help us achieve our goals by

keeping us on the right path. If we have a strong sense

of purpose and are pursuing a goal, then we will

frequently absorb information in relation to it through

reading, watching TV, and conversations with other

people. Much of this information is forgotten, or at

least not at the surface of our minds, but our intuition

draws upon it and we get a feeling regarding which

action to take or which path to pursue. So intuition can

help us along our path to make the decisions that are

best for us.

Page 35: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

35

Not all feelings are intuitions though. Some feelings are

based on fears or false beliefs. So we also need to be

discerning. We need to learn the difference between

intuition and wishful thinking, or even intuition and fear,

for instance.

It can take confidence to trust intuition but by

understanding that it is natural and is the brain making

sense of the information around us. When we focus on

the answers we seek, we can learn to be more

confident with our gut feeling.

PRINCIPLE 2Align Your Purpose

‘’There comes a point where our purpose and our alignment with our purpose becomes vividly clear

and it’s that point of taking that deep breathe and saying, thisjust feels absolutely right.’’

Jodi Orton

Choice Point Movie

Page 37: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

37

Let’s explore some of the ways the Choice Point membership helps us to

align to our true purpose:

Define Your Purpose

Once you’ve understood the patterns in your world,

and how you create your life through the patterns that

you align with, you’ll want to engage with your new

understanding. This is the time to define your purpose.

In ‘Understanding Your World’ you will be guided to

research your world based on your passions, interests

and skills. Once you’ve understood your world and

know where patterns are going, you can begin to

more clearly define your purpose so that when you

take action it will be aligned with the patterns that are

most likely to happen.

It would make sense, for instance, if you chose to

apply your passions in a direction that supported the

needs and desires of the world or parts of it – a

harmonious purpose – since these needs and desires

will form the patterns in the future. Define your purpose

is about clearly setting a direction for your life –

applying your skills towards a goal.

Page 38: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

Wisdom

‘Wisdom is not a product of schooling but of the life-

long attempt to acquire it’

Einstein

You will gain wisdom as you continue to understand

your world and as you reflect on and learn from your

experiences of aligning your purpose.

This will enable you to make even better choices in the

future as you grow to have a greater perspective on

the world and how you can create your reality.

Wisdom is gained through experience so just following

one path and neglecting others doesn’t result in

Wisdom. It’s a continual process of researching, taking

action, and reflecting on what happened before

refining your new path of action. It’s a continual,

life-long, process. When we choose paths that

challenge us and really engage with passion, we gain

the experiences to discern in the future, as it creates

know “ledge” from which we may sit and make better

decisions for the future.

Wisdom is also in knowing how to communicate

effectively with people.

Page 39: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

39

Wisdom helps us to see that having enemies is futile

and that we should always seek the solutions that

serve everyone. Wisdom recognizes that you gain

most when everyone gains and that self-serving only

ever produces short term results. Wisdom broadens our

vision and understanding.

How can I live my life in order to see my inner dreams

come true and my outer world be more congruent

with my desires?

Page 40: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

PRINCIPLE 3Be The Change

‘’I change the world I see by first changing it in me’’ Alison Pothier – Choice Point Movie

Page 41: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

41

Once you have a definition of your purpose, which is

in harmony with the greater patterns of the universe,

you are able to move on to Being The Change.

We may know where we want to get to (defined our

purpose) - yet we don't end up getting there, simply

because of our strong attachments to things and

people that keep us where we are in the present. A

key part to making your purpose or desire happen

(Aligning Your Purpose) is the ability to un-attach from

past memories or present circumstances that are

holding you back in life.

The Universe is in a state of flux, change is inevitable. If

we are too attached to our current situation, we lose

the ability to be flexible and align to our optimal future.

So that future is never delivered. Instead old patterns

get repeated as we become unable to adapt fast

enough to the start of a new, more productive cycle.

The concept of non-attachment is common to

Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. The art of non-at-

tachment is about recognizing that all things change

and nothing is truly ‘ours’. It encourages an awareness

of thoughts and belief systems regarding the people

and possessions in your life. However, becoming

unattached is not about being unattached in all

circumstances.

Page 42: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

To have passion and commitment and faith is in itself

an attachment and necessary if we want to see our

goals manifested. When you desire to move towards

a better future, you must to let go and ‘unattach’ from

whatever is in your present circumstances that

prevents you from getting there. The Universe is ruthless

in that - it can't deliver the new future until you have

let go of the present and that can mean being the

change-maker yourself. It’s about taking charge of

your own destiny and sorting through which

relationships and circumstances work for you and

which ones you need to let go of.

Just as you have to clear your mind in order to allow

images of your best future to appear, you also have to

clean up your life to allow those possibilities to

manifest. It can be incredibly hard to let go of

something or someone in your life that you have

become attached to, however it is often very

necessary for you to move on with your life journey.

One of the biggest problems of letting go is the fear of

not knowing what will come next and whether

change will lead to an improvement. It is incredibly

brave to let go of something that is working a bit, to

allow in something that may work even better. Yet

when you do let the part go that you feel has been

holding you back, something new will take its place.

For example new people may come into your life who

demonstrate all the positive aspects of your previous

relationship –

Page 43: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

43

but without the limiting elements that were present

before. If you do the work and stay aligned to your

true purpose – you can trust that when you let go of a

limiting situation – another situation will present itself

that is a better match for your life at that particular

time.

Being The Change means that you try to match every

action and thought to the way you want to live your

life. The way we act on a daily basis is the most obvious

way to tell if you are truly Being the Change. However,

as actions stem from thought, it is important to be very

vigilant of your thought processes. We cannot always

control our emotions, and we must recognize that it is

not possible to always have positive thoughts about

where you want to go. However, we can try to base

our actions on our positive thoughts as much as

possible.

‘’Happiness is not

something ready-made.

It comes from your own

actions.’’

- HH Dalai Lama

Page 44: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

There are many ways to live your truth – you can be

the change you want to see in your own life and in the

world at large. Choice Point membership guides you

through the many ways you can truly match up to

your purpose and become a shining light for others to

follow. We can look at a couple of these concepts

here:

Courage

“Every time I do the thing I’m afraid of then the thing

I’m afraid of isn’t that scary anymore because I

survived.”

Jack Canfield, Choice Point movie

Being the change will require some courage. It

requires courage to be something different from how

we’ve been before, or it might require courage to

make deep changes in our lives. For some, this might

even involve moving to a new place, taking a new job

or moving on from relationships that are not helping us

to grow.

Fear can be a barometer of change. It can tell us that

there is something exciting up ahead, where we are

going to be stretched out of our comfort zones and

have to apply courage. This, then, helps us to step into

whom, or what, we know we need to be to bring

about a change.

Page 45: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

45

Looking within will help you to identify and overcome

some of our fears. Courage invites us to step forward

and fully ‘Be The Change’. It helps us to maintain focus

on where we want to go in our lives, even amid the

storms that sometimes surround us. With courage, we

become unstoppable, unfazed by any obstacles that

appear in our path. It helps us to look for solutions

instead of fearing the obstacles.

It sees obstacles as opportunities, in fact. It invites us to

look at the things that we’re afraid of as opportunities

to change our life. Courage, in this sense, can be a

barometer of forthcoming change.

Courage can also be about conquering the inner

voice of self-doubt, that nagging critic that holds us

back in life. It helps us to not be restrained by

fear-based emotion that paralyses us and keeps us

from acting on opportunities in life.

Courage listens to the inner voice, even when it is

fearful, accepting what it has to say, but then takes

the leap of faith anyway.

Page 46: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

“In order to truly transform, from the depths of drug

addiction and a life of crime,

I had to look deep within myself and face my own

darkness. And I had to love myself for what I was,

and this helped me to turn that darkness into light.”

Brett Moran – Choice Point movie

Philanthropy

“Success unshared is failure”

John Paul DeJoria, Choice Point movie

As you become more involved with the Choice Point

Movement and become more aware of yourself, your

patterns, and as you align your purpose with

harmonious patterns that serve the needs and wishes

of others, your personal wealth and influence will very

likely increase.

What is success if it merely serves your own needs and

desires? We live in an interconnected world.

Independence is an illusion. Interdependence is the

way of life. Each choice that we make affects much

more than we can imagine.

With wealth and influence comes the opportunity to

use our resources to make a difference in the lives of

other people. If a great many people make this

choice we could transform the world for the better

much faster. Sir Richard Branson tells us that the people

who can help solve many of the problems in the world

are not those in government, but those in business,

who turn their entrepreneurial skills towards finding

solutions to these problems.

Page 48: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

When you reach a point in our life where you have

achieved many things, or when you feel fulfilled or

your finances improve, your outlook often changes. It

is deeply satisfying to then give something back to

society, and this brings a great sense of wellbeing.

Some believe that the need to give comes from a

selfish perspective, but kindness and compassion are

genetically wired in us. A mother cares for her young

because it is ‘in her’. You will always benefit from

showing kindness, but that needn’t be the reason for

showing it.

Kindness, philanthropy, looking out for the best for all

of us, is our natural state. Aligning with that pattern can

be one of the most empowering things we ever do.

Even when we don’t have large resources to use, all

of us can do philanthropic work. Volunteering a few

hours a week of your time, for instance, is a

philanthropic act and makes more of a difference

than you can imagine.

With each altruistic act we do, in our interconnected

world, we make a tremendous difference, not only as

a direct consequence our actions, but because of the

inevitable ripple effect created, which strengthens the

pattern of positive change in the world. Kindness is

contagious.

Page 49: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

49

Together, with kindness and compassion for

all, you really can – and will – change the

world.

“I think small gestures are critical. Philanthropy

means the love of people. It does not mean you

have a big foundation and are giving a bunch of

money.

So philanthropy can work every single day. When I

go to my local coffee store nearby I acknowledge

the person behind the counter, I ask them how their

day is or just recognize them as a human being”

Peter Buffett – Choice Point movie

Choice Points for Personal Transformationand Worldwide Change

Today, we’re facing a global choice point – and the

choices we make now have a far greater impact on

the world than ever before. We can choose a different

path to realise a different future.

Each of us holds a piece of the puzzle – and in order

to create the change we want to see in the world, we

need to contribute our unique puzzle piece to the

overall global picture. Through our individual

contributions, we can create the change together.

And collectively, we can create the world in which we

all want to live.

Whether you can see it now or not, you are a radiant,

powerful being... and you possess untold gifts, as well

as the courage it requires to give them.

The world needs you. Your community needs you.

Humanity needs you. You need You.

If you’re reading this message, it’s because you’re

ready to make a different kind of choice than perhaps

you’ve made in the past. You’re ready to align with a

different way of being: the way of the true visionaries,

leaders and transformational masters.

Welcome to Limitless Possibilities

What would it mean for your life right this minute if you

could...

● Accurately predict ideal conditions for your

business, idea or financial goals to succeed...

even if you’ve missed the boat or

miscalculated in the past.

● Maintain confidence, calm and clarity for

important decisions... even when you’re in the

chaos of crisis or a whirlwind of emotions.

● Genuinely identify your core purpose and

understand how to begin living it

immediately... regardless whether you now

know what your purpose is or think you know!

● Experience a renewed vitality and zest for life

because you’re doing what you love on a

daily basis... even if right now you don’t know

what that love or passion is.

● Serendipitously create new income, resources

and opportunities at the snap of your fingers...

without sacrificing your heart’s yearnings and

passions.

Page 52: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

● Dramatically alter the course of your life, like

jumping from one track to another and

boarding a supersonic bullet train to the life of

your desires?

● Spark change and inspire others so that the

ripples you create can affect greater and

greater amounts of people... whether you

consider yourself a leader right now or not.

● Join the ranks of visionary greats like Sir

Richard Branson, Jack Canfield, Archbishop

Desmond Tutu, Barbara Marx Hubbard, and so

many others... who have all chosen to impart

their wisdom now to YOU.

As a term borrowed from physics, a Choice Point is

defined as a place of branching or forking. It is a point

of possibility. We can also think of it as a fork in a road

that creates another road.

The idea behind Choice Point is that we can choose

which of those roads to travel down with informed

intention, rather than random luck.

Page 53: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

53

The key is to choose another road, one that can lead

you into a new and different life... and into a better

world – a world of peace, of fairness, of education, of

harmony. And to do so at the greatest Choice Point

moments-of-opportunity.

This requires a specific set of skills and knowledge that

myself and our entire family of Visionaries and the

Choice Point team will teach you in our 18-Step Align

Your Purpose Program.

These 18 steps move you through two key phases of

alignment and transformation that nearly everyone

misses – and yet all the visionaries figured out...

What if we joined together – you, me, each visionary

and global leader, along with thousands and

hundreds of thousand of others – to tap into one

particular world pattern that is just now about to

emerge?

YOU Can Join the “Align Your Purpose” Program

~ and Align With The Single Emerging World Pattern

That Richard Branson, The Dalai Lama, and

Billionaires, Leaders and Visionaries Everywhere

Have Already Identified and Joined!

Page 54: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

That pattern is being birthed out of the new cycle and

World Age that we are entering as a planet. This

pattern allows for social transformation, awakening

and global healing at rapid paces and immense

degrees never before possible.

This cycle and its patterns favor collaboration,

community and the power of social networks. Where

in the past, one had to struggle alone toward personal

transformation, enlightenment or success, now we

can socially collaborate to both achieve our own

personal goals and also to achieve worldwide

change.

And so imagine what you could accomplish now

when you join the new generation of aspiring

visionaries, leaders and entrepreneurs and learn to

harness the same wisdom, knowledge and

opportunities that the generations before us did. And

imagine learning this wisdom direct from the giants of

industry, success, spirituality and world transformation...

And most importantly, imagine the life you could

create for yourself and others when you stand hand-

in-hand with these visionaries and the thousands and

tens of thousands of other evolving visionaries who are

also joining this pivotal movement...

Page 55: The 3 Principles of Choice€¦ · a place of branching or forking. It is a point of possibility. Our lives are constantly throwing up choice points - seemingly negative life events

Choice Point:

Align Your Purpose

by Harry Massey,

David R. Hamilton, PH.D.

At this moment in history, we're faced with one of the

biggest choice points we have ever encountered.

Individuals are making choices to change their

nations; nature is giving us a wake-up call; economies

are struggling; and for many of us, the future looks

uncertain. Yet people are also rallying to have a voice,

awakening from their apathy of previous decades.

Collectively and individually, we are being given the

opportunity to make evolutionary choices that

positively impact and dramatically shift our direction.

Based on the extraordinary film Choice Point, which

features insights from the world's leading change-mak-

ers including Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Sir Richard

Branson, Arielle Ford, Tony Benn, James Caan, Gregg

Braden, Dr. Larry Dossey, and His Holiness the Gyalwa

Karmapa, this inspiring book reveals exclusive material

not seen in the film, and explores its exciting

discoveries in greater depth. It shows you how to

understand your world like never before, how to align

your own true purpose with the patterns of the

universe, and finally, how to be the change that you

want to see in the world around you.
