One of the primary objectives of the Blue Jackets Inside Sales Department is to develop future sales professionals and leaders of our organization. The Columbus Blue Jackets Inside Sales program is designed to provide a strong foundation for young professionals to launch their sales career in the sports industry. Training consists of group and one-on-one instruction to teach best practices, develop sales techniques and broaden communication skills. The program is built from the principles and sales techniques that are industry standard in the NHL, NBA, MLB and NFL. Many of the executives working in professional sports began their career in an Inside Sales program.

Inside Sales Representatives focus on selling season ticket plans, group outings and premium seating inventory on an individual game basis. The Inside Sales department plays an important role in the Blue Jackets ability to build a winning organization on and off the ice.

Our Inside Sales program has produced numerous senior level promotions including our current Director of New Business Development. One of our main objectives is your professional development. It is our desire to promote from within and fill all senior level sales positions from our Inside Sales program.

INITIAL TRAININGOur initial training program is a two-week process to introduce you to the culture of the Blue Jackets organization and Ticket Sales team and lay a foundation of proven sales techniques and strategies to prepare you for success. Your first day will include an orientation, history of the franchise, a Nationwide Arena tour, our expectations of you, a roadmap of how we successfully operate as a Ticket Sales team and introductions to the Blue Jackets staff. We will coach you through the sales process and apply essential sales principles to maximize your potential. Training consists of one-on-one role-plays, group role plays, face-to-face tour walkthroughs and product knowledge exercises.

ON-GOING TRAININGWe train on an on-going basis to continually develop your product knowledge and presentation skills. The organization’s commitment to on-going training and continuous improvement is essential to your professional development and long term success in the sports industry. Weekly training sessions are conducted as an Inside Sales team and individually.

OUTSIDE CONSULTANTSFrom time to time throughout the year we engage industry leading outside sales consultants to provide additional training and knowledge to provide you every opportunity to be successful.

ONE-ON-ONE MEETINGS/MENTORSHIPOur one-on-one meetings are utilized as an open forum for you to ask questions and gain honest feedback from the Director of New Business Development and other members of the sales leadership team. Typical topics include assessment of professional development, areas for improvement, sales pipelines, goals, pacing and career advancement.

FACE TO FACE AND EVENT BASED SELLINGWe host numerous events throughout the year to encourage face to face selling with clients and prospects. Events may include access to players and coaches to assist in the sales process. In addition to special events, individual behind the scenes tours are a focus of an Inside Sales Representatives’ daily responsibilities.

The Inside Sales team regularly schedules a variety of teambuilding activities to strengthen relationships among team members, encourage teamwork and goodwill in the community.

INSIDE SALES WALL OF FAMEThe Inside Sales Wall of Fame is a special form of recognition for an Inside Sales Representative when they are elevated to a senior level role within the Ticket Sales & Service Department. During a presentation in front of the Ticket Sales & Service team and the Blue Jackets Executive team, you will sign your puck which will be displayed in the Ticket Sales Department for years to come.

SALES AWARDS CEREMONYAt the conclusion of each season we hold a Sales Awards Ceremony to celebrate the successes of the past year and recognize those individuals whose efforts especially stand out among Ticket Sales and Corporate Sales. This annual event is held at Big Red’s Lodge, home of our founder John H. McConnell. Ten awards are presented including the Calder Memorial Trophy, which is given to the first year Inside Sales representative who generated the most new business revenue.

The Inside Sales Representative’s responsibilities under the direction of the Manager of Inside Sales, include selling & servicing new accounts, creating new ideas to increase ticket sales and performing various administrative functions as needed.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:• Sell Columbus Blue Jackets ticket products including season ticket plans, group tickets

and individual events• Build relationships to grow each representative’s account base through repeat business

and referrals• Conduct in-arena appointments/tours to assist in closing new business• Meet or exceed weekly and monthly sales goals• Make new business calls to prospects on targeted lead lists provided by the Blue Jackets• Proactively look for ways to create incremental business opportunities with existing customers• Provide superior customer service to clients – existing ticket holders, prospects and

single game buyers• Maintain complete and accurate computerized records of all clients and prospects in our

CRM database• Handle incoming calls from prospects and existing clients• Actively research and prospect new sales leads• Work games and other events to support ticket sales initiatives• Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Manager of Inside Sales

Our Inside Sales program offers a competitive compensation package that includes an annual base salary, commission plan and bonus structure.

Nationwide Arena is a multi-purpose facility and home of the Columbus Blue Jackets. The total seating capacity for Blue Jackets games is 18,144. A unique feature is the attached practice facility. Premium amenities include 52 suites, 39 terrace tables, 27 loge boxes and 6 party towers.

Nationwide Arena is also host to world-class events such as concerts, family shows, dirt shows and the 2014 Men’s NCAA basketball tournament. From time to time, Inside Sales Representatives have the opportunity to sell tickets to concerts and other events at Nationwide Arena. Past events include:

Drew Ribarchak, a cum laude Sport Management graduate of Robert Morris University, joined the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2007 and was promoted to Director of New Business Development in February 2013. Drew is directly responsible for driving new business revenue and recruiting, training, and mentoring the senior level Account Executive and entry level Inside Sales teams.

Drew has consistently been a top revenue producer during his time with the Blue Jackets. As an Inside Sales Representative,

Drew was the top revenue producer for six months, leading to a promotion as a Season Sales Account Executive. In that role Drew led the Season Sales Department in new business development for two consecutive years, which led to a promotion to Manager of Inside Sales. The Inside Sales team has increased new business revenue each of the past four seasons. In his second season leading the Account Executive team, the team set new season ticket sales records for the franchise.

Prior to joining the Blue Jackets, Drew interned with the Washington Wild Things of the Frontier League and served as a pro shop attendant at Sewickley Heights golf club. Drew is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and is married to his wife, Amber.

Joe Andrade was named the Vice President of Ticket Sales and Service for the Columbus Blue Jackets in April 2013.He currently oversees strategy, recruiting, sales training and development for all ticket sales and service.

Before joining the Blue Jackets, Andrade spent the previous five years as the Senior Director of Ticket Sales for theNational Basketball Association’s Orlando Magic from 2008-13. Prior to his stint with the Magic, he worked for the Los Angeles Clippers, serving as the Director of Ticket Sales from 2004-08.

He also held similar positions with the Miami Heat and the New Orleans Hornets. Andrade’s sales experience in major-league sports also includes time as the Director of Inside Sales and Group Sales for Major League Baseball’s Tampa Bay Rays.

A native of Cohasset, Massachusetts, Andrade received a bachelor’s degree in sports management from the University of Massachusetts in 1997.

He currently resides in Columbus with his wife, Liz.

Justin Dunn, a Sport Management graduate of Ohio University, joined the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2012 and was promoted to Manager of Inside Sales in April 2015. Justin is directly responsible for recruiting, training, and mentoring the Inside Sales team. As an Inside Sales Representative, Justin earned the Calder Memorial Trophy, a recognition of the leading producer in Inside Sales. Justin was promoted to Season Ticket Service Coordinator. In that role Justin managed full season ticket accounts and was a top producer in new business through referrals and add-on business. Justin is a two-time winner of the Bill Masterton Award, which is a team voted on award for leadership.

Prior to joining the Blue Jackets, Justin interned with the Western & Southern Open and Ohio University Athletics. Justin is a native of Wilmington, Ohio.

Nick Myers is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and he joined the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2013 as the Director of Group Sales & Hospitality. Nick currently oversees the group sales team who is dedicated to selling group tickets and single game suite rentals for all Blue Jackets home games and Nationwide Arena concerts. Under Nick’s leadership in his first two seasons with the Blue Jackets, the group sales team has grown the total group revenue by 162.5% and the group sales team has set franchise records in each of the past two seasons.

Prior to joining the Blue Jackets, Nick also held management and sales positions with the Phoenix Coyotes, Phoenix Suns and Chicago Sky. Nick is a native of Florence, Kentucky.

Kelly Faith Jones joined the Blue Jackets in 2013 as Director of Service and Retention and is responsible for the strategic planning, implementation and execution of best practices as it relates to the sales, service and retention of the season ticket holder base. Kelly’s focus is on the continuous advancement of client relationship management strategies including special event planning, benefits programming, as well as client renewal, engagement and communication campaigns.

Kelly is a graduate of Cornell University (B.S.) and Georgetown University (M.S. with distinction). Prior to joining the Blue Jackets, she has worked for Sirius Satellite Radio, in sales and as Vice President of Client Relationship Management for subsidiary of Federated Investors, and most recently spent four seasons with the NHL’s Washington Capitals as a member of the Client Services team. In her free time, Kelly, a native of Rochester, NY, enjoys traveling, the culinary arts, fine wine and equestrian sports.

The Columbus Blue Jackets Ticket Sales & Service internship program is designed for students who want to gain first-hand experience on the front lines of a professional sports team. One of the primary objectives of the Blue Jackets Ticket Sales & Service internship is to develop future sales professionals. Under the direction of the sales leadership team, the intern will assist in all aspects of the Ticket Sales & Service department including sales training, event preparation and execution, and database management. The Ticket Sales & Service intern will also gain experience in other areas such as marketing, promotions, and operations as needed.
