FROM THE DESK OF THE PRESIDENT
We know you’re as anxious as we are to hear news of our islands reopening their airports. We can announce that St. Maarten government officials have decided July 1st is the earliest the airport will reopen to visitors. Rest assured, we will announce our resort reopening dates as soon as we can. One thing’s for sure, when you’re ready to book your Caribbean vacation, you can count on us! For more information on our new Clean Check Program, visit www.diviresorts.com/clean-check. htm and book with confidence at www.diviresorts.com/book-with-confidence.htm.
We’re excited to announce that we’ve selected the winners of our Divi Vacation Memory – Kid’s Edition contest. Congratulations to 17-year-old Halle and 7-year-old Maris. We loved hearing your stories, and we can’t wait to welcome you and your families back to our resorts to create even more fantastic memories! As you know, our employees are working tirelessly behind the scenes to prepare our resorts for reopening, including our Regional Director of Resort Operations, Jan ten Have. We spoke with him this week to find out how he’s managing our resorts and prepping to reopen. If golf is your game, The Links at Divi Aruba at Divi Village Golf & Beach Resort is your place to play! Learn more about this great golf facility in this week’s newsletter. And of course, we have another delicious recipe for you to try at home. Rich and flavorful, our Caribbean Pumpkin Soup is popular throughout the islands and it’s easy to make. Also in this issue, we’re saluting all first responders and essential workers on the front lines to keep us safe and healthy. These Everyday Heroes deserve endless admiration for the hard work they have done day in and day out. We’re proud to recognize their contributions to their communities with a newly announced program. Still missing the sounds of the islands? Anne-Marie Brooks, Divi Little Bay Beach Resort’s General Manager, is here to help with her upbeat Caribbean playlist that’s sure to get you on your feet. Plus, we heard so much positive feedback about last week’s island crossword, that we’re bringing it back again! Try your luck and see if you can solve this week’s puzzle. Have you had fun finding Gizmo in our latest newsletters? She’s a little bummed that you’ve found her so easily, so this week, she’s back with another hiding spot she’s sure will stump you! Can you find her? Search for our Divi Diva and send a photo of you and your family finding our feathered friend to [email protected]. Enjoy this week’s issue and stay healthy and safe.

What role did you start with at Divi Resorts and how did you progress over the years?
In 1995, I started as the Food & Beverage Manager, then moved on to property management at the Alhambra Casino and Shops on Aruba. After that, I was asked to assist with various business assignments at the resorts on Barbados, Bonaire and St. Maarten, and in 2001, I helped open Divi Carina Bay All-Inclusive Beach Resort & Casino on St. Croix. My latest role has me focusing on elevating our staff training, taking our systems and service to the next level, and reviewing programs to meet and exceed our guests’ expectations.
During these past few months, how did youmanage the resorts closing, and now, how do you plan on reopening the resorts?
We have an incredibly strong leadership team, and throughout the unprecedented closure and now reopening of our resorts, it’s taken a closely supervised, calm and precise team effort amongst resort and corporate staff to make sure everything has been looked after during closure and now, with each reopening, ensuring everything is once again up and running and ready to welcome guests back on property.
How are the staff doing? They are ready to get back to work! All our team members are required to go through our Clean Check training program and complete any necessary certifications. These new protocols are in place for their safety just as much as they are in place for the safety of our guests.
What is your favorite part of your job? Seeing the smiling faces of our staff when they accomplish difficult tasks and seeing our guests enjoying their vacations to the fullest. I also appreciate that there’s always a new challenge, and all of the islands are different, so I’ve learned to adapt to assist each resort team.
As you are uniquely positioned to work with all members of Divi’s staff, what is universal amongst all Divi employees?
From the islands to our corporate office in North Carolina, our team members are like family, and we treat each other accordingly. That and the drive to improve and help other departments. Our President & COO, Marco Galaverna is a hands-on leader, and you’ll see him work a construction site just as easily as he sits behind his desk. Doing what it takes and getting the job done right is ingrained in our fundamental work ethic.
Our employees are always working tirelessly behind the scenes to support our management team. One of those valued employees is our Regional Director of Resort Operations, Jan ten Have. He’s worked for
the company for 25 years and has played an important role in helping the resorts close and now reopen. We asked him to share his experience with
Divi and tell us about his latest efforts to prepare for reopening.

LOVE GOLF?
At Divi Village Golf & Beach Resort on Aruba, you can tee off without ever leaving the resort! That’s because the resort is home to The Links at Divi Aruba’s meticulously landscaped 9-hole course which surrounds the property. If you’re
staying at one of the golf villa suites you’ll have fantastic golf course views right from your private patio or balcony.
The Links is open to the public, but Divi Resorts guests receive preferred rates and tee times. In-between rounds, be sure to visit The Links’ clubhouse, where you’ll find a Pro Shop, a golf and tennis learning center, and two restaurants: Mulligan’s Golf Café, Bar & Restaurant and Windows on Aruba. The Pro Shop carries golf equipment and accessories, name-brand apparel for men and women, and other golf-related merchandise. Plus, there’s also no need to bring your clubs or shoes. You can easily find everything you need for a reasonable price at the Pro Shop, and as golf carts are mandatory, you won’t have to worry about carrying your golf bag. This magnificent golf course was designed by Litten/Viola J.V. of Boyton Beach, Florida. It features nine holes, which offer play over water and sparkling lagoons.
At the golf and tennis learning center, you’ll receive expert instruction by Don Ross, a golf professional, or various tennis professionals from Aruba Tennis. You’ll be provided with all of the equipment and supplies you need. Plus, individual and group lessons (up to four people) are available.
Training facilities include:
• Netted driving range area
• Chipping area
• Bunker practice area
• Club repair & re-gripping facility
