huge Thames rail to heat your room

The rails are manufactured from

high grade steel, have furnace

welded joints, top quality chrome

plate finish, and are uniquely

pressure tested three times during

the manufacturing process. The

packaging is the ‘best in class’ – end

caps, shrink wrapped then boxed

and then shrink wrapped again to

ensure the rail gets to you without

any transit damage.

All brass tap, brass waste, high

shine ceramic basin, extra thick

25mm carcase unit, very high

gloss doors are all the hallmarks

of the Qi 500 high specification.

Notwithstanding the top

specifications, the range is very

competitively priced.

The ceramic basin is fired at over

1000°C creating a hard wearing

surface that will never loose its

shine. Soap recesses both left

and right drain to the basin for

practicality and a flat standing

area if you want to stand a bottle

of liquid soap. The relatively small

projection from the wall make this

basin a perfect fit for

smaller rooms.

Bathrooms are intimate rooms. A warm cosy room is an essential ingredient to creating your dream bathroom. When selecting your rail, choose one big enough to heat the room as well as giving you towels that will give you that soft warm hug, when you get out of the shower or a long soak in your bath.

Thames heated rails should be installed in indirect central heating systems (ie to be used in the place of a standard radiator in a normal central heating circuit). There are optional summer heating elements so you can still have warm towels even when your central heating is turned off.

Thermal Control Panel

The TCP Thermal Control Panel allows you to control the power to the rail. This will vary the temperature of the rail in the summer months when the summer element is on. The 2 hour override button will turn the rail on to full power for two hours only and then revert back to the previous power setting.

The panel is white, an optional stainless steel cover is available.

DFE12 Chrome valve elbow £5.10 Middle right - the central heating hot water supply comes from behind the wall. The rail is fitted using a pair of angled valves, a chrome valve elbow and a summer heating element with thermal control panel.

Bottom right - the central heating hot water supply comes from the floor. The rail is fitted using a pair of angled valves, a chrome valve elbow and a summer heating element with thermal control panel and stainless steel cover.


Summer Heating Element Your rail is plumbed into the central heating circuit in the normal way to heat the towel rail and dry your towels in the winter months. When your central heating is turned off in the summer months you turn on the electrical Summer Heating Element and that warms the towel rail to dry your towels.

The table of details for the rails show the optimum size of element that should be used with each rail

The pictures show the summer element fitted to angled valves and straight valves both using the valve elbow. The chrome tee elbow of the summer element will change the tapping centres +/- 70mm

These rails have factory fitted ceramic 240V heating elements and are filled with heat transmitting fluid and factory sealed. Installation is simple – your electrician simply connects the rail to a power supply. We recommend that a 7 day time clock is put on the power circuit (this will need to be outside your bathroom) so you have complete control over your heated towel rail.The electrical connection is on the right hand side of the rails
