Current Operational Gaps Along Major Corridors and Cross Border Transport Challenges

1. Cross Border Transport Routes – Negotiation process for making transport

agreements takes time. Thus, by the time it implements, the routes that were

designated in the agreement are sometimes no longer satisfied by transport operators.

2. Formalities at the border – Procedures at the borders are unsynchronized since

each border has different practice.

3. Guarantee for transit transport operation – The absence of guarantee system

which provides guarantee through out the whole transport operation has hindered

transport operators to regularly perform transit operation.
