THAI AIRWAYS SCOOPS BEST ECONOMY CLASS AWARD

NEW INTERNATIONAL PASSENGER TERMINAL AT HANOITHAI AIRWAYS INTERNATIONAL (THAI) now operates from the new international passenger terminal at Hanoi, Noi Bai airport (HAN), the airline announced recently. The minimum connecting time from international � ight to domestic � ight at HAN airport is increased from 90 minutes to 120 minutes. A fee of US$25 per person now also applies to tickets as HAN Airport passenger service charge. Check-in counters for THAI � ights are located at Row E1-E6. Counters open 2 hours and 15 minutes before � ight departure and close 40 minutes before � ight departure.

BANGKOK AIRWAYS LAUNCHES “STUDENT PLUS CARD”BANGKOK AIRWAYS recently launched the “Student Plus Card,” a privileged card that exclusively designed for undergraduates or university students. The newly launched card will offer amazing privileges to cardholders, such as 10% discount on domestic air tickets, 1.2 FlyerBonus points, 30 kilograms baggage allowance, and many more. In addition, Student Plus cardholders can also enjoy extra bene� ts from participated restaurants, hotels, shops, and car rentals. “We have launched our � rst-ever Student Plus Card campaign in response to the growing numbers of young travelers or college students,” says Ariya Prasarttong-Osoth, vice president – sales of Bangkok Airways. “This new marketing campaign aims to tap the university students market, introduce Bangkok Airways to them, as well as encourage them to travel more within Thailand. 50 BEST AIRPORTS IN THE WORLD: SUVARNABHUMI RANKS 47TH BANGKOK’S SUVARNABHUMI AIRPORT is among the 50 best airports in the world. Suvarnabhumi was listed as 47th, one notch up from last year’s ranking. Singapore Changi Airport was again voted the world’s best airport for the third year running in the annual SkyTrax World Airport Awards 2015 announced recently in Paris. South Korea’s Incheon International Airport was named the No. 2 best airport for the third year running. Germany’s Munich Airport retained its third rank, as did Hong Kong International as fourth rank in 2014. Tokyo International (Haneda) climbed one notch to No 5 from 6 in 2014. The result was based on more than 13 million surveys completed by 112 nationalities of airline customers between May 2014 and January 2015, and included 550 airports worldwide. The survey evaluates customer satisfaction across key performance indicators such as check-in, arrivals, transfers, and shopping facilities. The Skytrax World Airport Awards are the most prestigious and coveted awards to recognize product and service quality across the world’s airport industry. Also known as the Passenger’s Choice Awards, it was launched by air transport advisory group SkyTrax since 1999.

THAI AIRASIA X FLIGHTS ALLOWED INTO JAPAN UNTIL END OF JUNE THE QANTAS GROUP has announced new services to its international and domestic network into Queensland, giving customers more direct travel options at home and overseas. Internationally, Qantas will increase its upcoming Brisbane–Tokyo (Narita) service from four to seven return-� ights a week. This change to the previously announced route, which starts in August, represents an increase in seats of 75 percent to over 4000 seats a week. Domestically in Australia, more than 15,000 seats a year will be added to the Whitsunday Coast region as part of a dual brand revamp to Qantas and Jetstar’s � ying. From June 27, Qantas will introduce a twice-weekly return service between Melbourne and Hamilton Island – taking over the route from Jetstar. In turn, Jetstar will start operating a direct three-times weekly service between Melbourne and the Whitsunday Coast Airport (Proserpine) from June 25.

ETIHAD WINS PRESTIGIOUS CRYSTAL CABIN AWARD ETIHAD AIRWAYS has scooped the coveted 2015 Crystal Cabin Award in the ‘Premium Class & VIP’ category for its innovative Airbus A380 upper deck cabin designs and products during the annual Aircraft Interiors Expo held in Hamburg, Germany. The Crystal Cabin Award is the only international award recognizing excellence in aircraft interior innovation. The international judging panel is made up of more than 20 academics, engineers, representatives of aircraft manufacturers and airlines, as well as journalists specializing in the � eld of aircraft interior design. The award was presented jointly to Etihad Airways and the members of the Etihad Design Consortium (EDC) – a unique grouping of three leading brand and design agencies, who pooled their combined skills to deliver Etihad Airways’ ambition of revolutionizing air travel by totally reimagining the � ying experience.
