With the increasingly complex factors that businesses have to contend with, such as globalization, societal expectations and regulatory interventions, existing forms of corporate reporting are perhaps not adequately and accurately portraying the nature of their operations. Integrated Reporting is a new corporate reporting model designed to fill this gap by building on existing financial and sustainability reporting models, and enhancing them to provide a more accurate picture of an organization’s operating context and its performance. Integrated Thinking is the term given for integrating sustainability and value creation elements in an organization’s strategy, governance and business model. The Integrated Report is the external communication that discloses how this Integrated Thinking approach and performance of an organization creates value in the short, medium and long term.
