SRSP Response Updates as of 10-8-2014 Activity Provider/Donor Description
NFIs distribution UNHCR Total 28,711 families including 27,131 in Sport Complex and 1,580 in more than 300 local schools. It includes 94 christians and 16 Hindus IDPs families
Establishment of Grievances Desk
UNHCR SRSP has deployed 14 protection staff members to record grievances at WFP Food hubs such as 1-Haji Camp Peshawar and 2 points in dis-trict Bannu (Govt Vocational Center and Ghori Wala)
Registrations of IDPs
UNHCR Tital 43,004 remaining IDPs were registered in phase#2 supporting FDMA
Food Distribution Multiple Do-nors
Food items to 500 most vulnerable IDPs families were distributed which received through donation.
Sheds Construc-tions
UNHCR SRSP has constructed 6 sheds on humanitarian basis at below sites; 1-District Hospital Bannu for patients of NWA, 3-Sport Complex (1 for WFP & 2 for SRSP) & 1 –Outside Sport Complex in waiting area
Assessments and needs identifica-tion
UNHCR 224 local schools in 24 UCs were visited whereas 910 IDPs families were interviewed regarding their registration status, issues, needs, facilitation status and intention of residence once the schools are opened.
WASH interven-tions
UNICEF 7,329 IDPs and 4,686 host families were assessed in 6 UCs of district Bannu and WASH related needs were identify. Following the assess-ment above, construction of 7 hand pumps were initiated
Support to Govt and Clusters
SRSP A team of 3 females staff has been given to Spcial Welfare for Child Protection for 3 months. SRSP also provides its office facility in Bannu for cluster meetings including CCCM, food etc

Funding received by HRF from other institutions: Qatar Charity, Being Humanitarian, TABA Founda-
tion and Pakistan Citizens Alliance.
RAPID ASSESSMENT: UC Bharat and UC Mamashkhel, District Bannu
Field Partners includes Community Advancement and Rural Empowerment (CARE), Bannu. Kawish Welfare Trust facilitated in Lakki Marwat. YAROH and Unique Development Organization provided volunteer support for data collection.
HRF team visited two Union Councils of Bannu that were identified by the field partners. Out of 1,000 + families, HRF met with 50 families approximately. Methodology adopted to accumulate information was through focused discussion meetings.
In UC Bharat, 315 IDP families have resided, includes 857 males, 1103 females and 1374 children i.e. females and children are 74.3 % of the total displaced.
In UC Mamakhel, 604 IDP families have resided, includes 1704 males, 2187 females and 2769 children i.e. females and children are 74.4 % of the total displaced.

In District Lakki Marwat, Kawish Welfare Trust has registered 400 IDP families that includes 5400 indi-viduals approximately.

90% of the IDP families residing in schools have brought their livestock with them.
Severe shortage of non-food items (NFIs); especially for bedding, hygiene purposes, etc.
Food provided by The Government and WFP is insufficient since the average family size is 13.5.
Provision of clean drinking water is not readily available. Accessibility and storage facilitates needs to be upgraded.

Synoptic Situation: Seasonal low lies over North Balochistan and adjoining areas. Yesterday’s Monsoon Low
over North Bay of Bangal now lies over West Bangal & its adjoining areas. Weak monsoon currents would con-
tinue penetrating upper parts of the country and Kashmir during next couple of days and likely to become
stronger during the period from Thursday to Saturday.

SRSP Activities in KP Updates as of 8-8-2014
KP Government and SRSP initiative for Energy
According to KP government and SRSP initiative for energy, 14,250 households will get electricity
through construction of 105 Mini & Micro Hydro power units in Swat, Shangla and Kohistan Districts
in 18 months. This initiative is funded by the Government of KP, called “Construction of Mini/Micro
Hydro Power Projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa” and is being implemented by SRSP in three districts
out of the total 12 districts.
