1. PRODUCT INFO

The TFT Ippocampo is a floor and cabin display that shows floor number, direction Up/Down, services

messages and alarms.

It works with MoviLift serial CAN bus. Connection is made by 4 wires (2 data + 2 power supply). The display also can be configured in parallel mode. You can do that with the optional expansion:

IPPOCAMPO_EXP.

Number of floors is from -9 to 31, total 41 floors.

The display can be mounted both vertically and horizontally way. Il display può essere montato sia in

posizione orizzontale che verticale. The choose is made by software ATLANTIS Ippocampo (see later).

In horizontally way the display is 480 pixel wide and 272 pixel high. For mounting, the J1 and J2 connectors

must be on the right if you see the display frontally.

In vertically way the display is 272 pixel wide and 480 pixel high. In posizione verticale il display è largo 272

pixel, e alto 480 pixel. For mounting, you need to see correctly the written OK, UP, DOWN on the back

side.

3. PROGRAMMATION

The TFT programmation can be done in two ways:

By UP, DOWN, OK button on the back side of the board.

By ATLANTIS Ippocampo tool for PC.

3.1 Programmation by buttons

This way allows to configure only the main parameters.

4. DIAGNOSTIC

The firmware version is showed after switching on the display. The message is like “… BOOTLOADER …”

and after “… TFT Ippocampo v1.0 – Jul 21 2017”.

The board have two LED that help the user to diagnostic and programmation. Green led RDY and red led

ERR.

OFF There is an error, reported by LED ERR.

Short blink one time in a second The board haven’t errors.

Long blink one time in a second The board is in demo mode or in programmation mode.

3 blink and one second off Transmission error on CAN bus

5. FIRMWARE UPDATE

The firmware can be updated by a microSD card. How to do:

- Extract the ‘TFTIPROG.HEX’ file contained in the compressed file received.

- Load it in a microSD directory (with formatting FAT32).

- Switch off the display and insert the microSD with files.

- Switch on the display. A message like this will come out:

BOOTLOADER - TFT Ippocampo Program file on SD, press OK to update firmware or wait to continue …

- Press OK button in 5 seconds to confirm the update.

- After one minute will appear the message “Ok, end of firmware update”.

- The display will restarts with new firmware.

- Switch off the display and extract the microSD card.

The update file is provided by furnisher by email. It is tipically contained in a compressed file, like as .RAR

or .ZIP.

5.1 Programmation by using Ippocampo Tool for PC

ATLANTIS Ippocampo tool for PC allows to configure all parameters of display, background images, font,

etc.

You can modify:

Brightness

Demo mode/normal mode

Background (fixed image or fixed color)

Text “badge number”

Text “lift number”

Procedure

- ATLANTIS tool make the files ‘TFTI.INI’ ‘TFTIIMG.BIN’ ‘MAPI.INI’ in the project’s directory.

- Load files in the main directory of a microSD card (in FAT32)

- Switch off the display and insert the microSD card with files

- Switch On the display. After first BOOTLOADER screen it will show the program message like this:

… TFT Ippocampo Vx.x – Jan 1 2018 Setup file on SD, press OK to update memory or wait to continue …

- Press OK button on the backside in 5 seconds to confirm the update

- Check the messages

- After two minutes appears the message “Ok, setup updated”

- The display will restart automatically with new images and new configuration

- Switch off the display and extract the microSD with files

6. Expansion board IPPOCAMPO_EXP

If you need the parallel mode on your IPPOCAMPO, you need to add the optional expansion board

IPPOCAMPO_EXP. It offers 16 digital inputs. They can be both positive and negative. You can decide that

by the common: if common is positive the inputs must be connected to negative pole, if common is

negative the inputs must be connected to positive pole. There are also other 3 independent digital inputs.

The common is “COM” on J2 connector.

Note: to use the expansion is required the firmware version 2.0 or next.

There is also the connecton J3 on the board, it has 3 independent differential inputs:

LE input has the priority on other inputs. When the input is active, the display will lights up in white at

maximum brightness. L’ingresso LE ha la priorità sugli altri segnali. Quando il segnale viene attivato lo

schermo si illumina di bianco alla massima luminosità. The display will power up by inputs LE+ and LE-.

Description

0 1 line per floor Every input is associated with a floor. If there are more than 1 input at the same time, the display will show “—“.

1 Binary It uses only the first five inputs to calculate the floor number in binary. (from 0 to 31). The input 6 is used to change the signs before the floor (Ex. 7 to -7).

2 Negative binary It uses only the first five inputs, in negative logic, to calculate the floor number in binary (from 0 to 31). The input 6, also in negative logic, is used to change the signs before the floor (Ex. -5 to 5).

3 BCD It uses the first 4 inputs to calculate the floor in binary and the input “5” to calculate the tens. The input “6” is used to change the signs.

4 GRAY It uses only the first five inputs to calculate the floor number in GRAY language (from 0 to 31). The input “6” is used to change the signs.

5 Sensor It uses two magnet sensors N.O. in the shaft as shown in the picture “1”

7 7 Segments Every inputs have an accurate segment on display.

The operative mode Binary, Negative Binary, BCD and GRAY use 5 inputs to calculate the floor number,

from 0 to 31. The list show how value changes based on different operative modes.

Input 1, that we call A, is the less important. Input 5, that we call E, is the most significant.

Autonomous management (Stand-alone)

Electronic circuit – Sensor

The display IPPOCAMPO in sensor Mode (stand-alone) is a universal decoder that allows to control the

display autonomously. It works alone by two N.O. magnetic sensors.

FUNCTIONING

The selector follow the elevator movements controlling correctly the floor number, the arrrow on the display

and the gong trigger. The signal A (top sensor) and B (bottom sensor) must be wired on the input 1-2 on

the board.

Position two N.O. (normally opened) magnetic sensors vertically on a mounting bracket fixed on cabin

roof. The minimal distance between the sensors must be 40mm. (we recommend 120mm magnets).

Connect the sensors on the inputs “1 (A sensor)- 2 (B sensor)” of the board.

Position two magnets on the guide in every floor, so both sensors are decommitted with the cabin. The

magnets distance compared to floor, establish the point which the board refresh the floor number.

Add a third magnet on the main floor to rephasing the system (default is the lower floor, usually 0) so it

commit both cabin sensors.

Between two magnets must need a minimal distance of 80mm.

The gong trigger is automatic: when both sensors crossing the magnet for at least 0.6 seconds, the

cabin is in low speed and so is near the next stop. The trigger has the duration of 2 seconds. Note: this

signal is available only in serial mode.
