It’s almost that time for you to be reunited with your loved ones! I am excited as well!

eArmy MessagingThis month has been very busy for me

ensuring the rosters were updated as well as IRIS - our eArmy Messaging System.

If you know of someone who is new to the unit, please contact me with the family’s information so it can be updated. The same can be said for someone you know as left the unit. It is also beneficial to give me a call or shoot me an email if your information changes - new email address, cell or home number. We don’t want anyone to go without being contacted as their trooper redeploys!

ReintegrationAlso, take advantage of the reunion

classes. Check out the flyer (on the next page) for date, time, and location.

VolunteersI’d like to thank all the volunteers for

assisting with the single soldiers rooms at the barracks, we really appreciate the help.

Labor Day Message from the FORSCOM Commander

On Labor Day we reflect on the powerful social and economic achievements of America’s work force. We also appreciate the vital work of our Army Family — our Soldiers, civilian employees and Family members — who work tirelessly to further freedom’s cause. Our thoughts also focus on America’s deployed Soldiers, for whom Labor Day is another day working to protect our nation’s security.

For many of us, the Labor Day

weekend is a last opportunity to enjoy warm weather activities and take to the road for a well-deserved break. Remember the basics: get plenty of rest before traveling, don’t drive or swim after consuming alcohol, use personal protective equipment, and don’t drive while distracted.

Make safety part of your plan. Before you do anything, from completing home projects, to preparing for a road trip, to going swimming, ask yourself, “What are the risks? What am I doing to mitigate them?” Be careful! Each and every one of you is vital to your fellow Soldiers, civilian co-workers and Families.

Your personal labor, commitment and

sacrifice contribute greatly to our nation and to keeping our Army strong. Thank you for your service!

What your FRG is up to...Throughout the month of August the FRG got together to help welcome TF

Wolfpack single soldiers home by getting their barracks rooms ready for their arrival. One would think this would be simply done... but not when we remember we’re a Taskforce!

Each of our troopers got their bed made with new sheets, a rack pack of personal hygiene supplies from the USO, a bag of snacks & 2 bottles of water from Fayetteville cares and our volunteers’ contributions, and a welcome home message.

Thank you again to all the volunteers who came out to help over, and over, and over again!! We appreciate you!!!

WOLFPACK FOR WARRIORS

Back in July it was brought to the TF Wolfpack FRG Leaders’ attention that our Wounded Warriors here at Ft. Bragg could use some help. We were made aware of an organization that has served the WTU for a couple of years now - www.cause-usa.org.

One of the things that Cause provides to the WW’s is onsite meal service multiple times a week - but most importantly on weekends since their DFAC is closed at that time.

It struck us, as a group, that we could help with that. If there’s anything a group of volunteers can do, it’s pull together a potluck meal. And so we did. With the help of numerous folks in the unit, and outside the unit as well, we brought a potluck meal - with take out boxes for leftovers - to our wounded brethren here at Ft. Bragg.

If that’s not reason enough... we try to keep in mind that TF Wolfpack has a handful of Wounded Warriors that have come home from this tour. And we want to keep them in mind and honor them for their service. Even if it’s not to them directly; it’s to them in mind and heart.

If time allows, we’ll go back to the WTU later this year. Consider contributing your best dish for them to share. Giving back to those who have given is priceless.

Taking some time to chat and make 550

cord bracelets.

VOLUNTEERS AT WORK

In addition to working to get all our single soldiers’ barracks rooms ready for their arrival, our volunteers have been working away at other activities as well!

As noted on the page prior, our volunteers put together a potluck dinner to support the Wounded Warriors at the WTU here at Ft. Bragg. Although organized through the FRG, it is the work of the volunteers that

makes events like that not just happen, but make them successful!

Another effort put on by the FRG and volunteers was to get banners made and hung up at the Talon (3/82) hangar to welcome our troopers as they arrive home. The pictures here are just a few of the banners that have gone up at the hangar. Almost all of our companies are represented and we know that our soldiers appreciate the greetings as they arrive in.

With all the great work that our volunteers do, we try to make sure that they are awarded for that time and effort. This month it is our privilege to wish Alison White congratulations for being awarded the Dr. Mary E. Walker Award for outstanding volunteer support. She is yet another example of the stellar volunteers that TF Wolfpack is proud to call their own!

WEBSITE OF THE MONTH

There are a number of ways to volunteer on Fr. Bragg and very few of them have to do with your specific unit or FRG.

While your FRG can always use your help with different activities -

meal trains, potlucks, care teams, event support - that is only one way you can give of your time.

This month we are featuring the website of one of the organizations on Ft. Bragg that can always use an extra hand or volunteer to support their mission. Take a minute to learn more about it.

WWW.CAUSE-USA.ORGCause programs

provide opportunities for recreation, relaxation and resiliency for members of the US Armed services recuperating from injuries received in Iraq and Afghanistan.

To recover physically and emotionally, wounded warriors need more than medical care alone. They

need engaging social interaction, pleasurable

activities designed to combat isolation and

depression, and tangible expressions of appreciation and support from a grateful nation. Cause steps in to provide that support to wounded servicemen and women, their families and their caregivers.

VOLUNTEERING ON FT. BRAGGYou do not have to
